The new Amazon votes is up. If you are aiming for a cheap PS3, I recommend voting on the "family" bundle, as that one is leading right now by a wide margin.

Didn't about a billion people from this forum try this last year and not one of us got to buy any of the deals?

But still...

*on my way to vote*

I threw in my vote for the PS3 deal that's winning.  Sure, I already have a PS3, LBP, and Pirates 1 (and actively don't want 2 and 3), but hey, I bet I could find something to do with a $200 PS3.

Of course, the one I really want is the Harry Potter book, but unfortunately, that's getting demolished by the mixer.  Maybe I'll get the TV.  That'd be nice in the bedroom.  Or for sellin' to get a smaller one for the bedroom.

Last year they still offered deals on the other ones....just not as crazy a deal as the winning one.

I want the PS3 since I don't have one and I also don't have a blu-ray player.  So here's hoping I'll get the email to buy.

So, did anyone else get "invited" to buy the PS3 deal, on a first come, first serve basis?

I did. We'll see how clogged Amazon is tomorrow.

I'm wondering if they just gave them to everybody who voted?

I'm going to be at some stores then, but I'll give it a shot from my phone. That should be entertaining, in a "Let me see if I can throw a snowball through hell" way.

Well my browser has been spinning for nearly 5 minutes now. I clicked add to cart, the split second it showed up. (waiting...)

100% claimed. Well damn.

That's retarded, I thought they went to this vote and email thing to avoid that.

I think it's happened every year they've done this.  there's something like only 500 available and they probably invite 4 or 5 times that number to take part.

I tried to get the PS3 Family Deal from my iPhone while shopping at Toys R Us, but screwed up by going to the product page instead of waiting for the "buy" button to appear on the voting page. By the time the voting page refreshed, it was a couple of minutes in. The wheel spun around and I was denied.

I was eating breakfast at McDonalds and tried for the Action Deal. I clicked on the button less than a second after it appeared, and still got denied.

But...

I got home and clicked again on the "Add to Cart" button a second after the SciFi deal appeared a few minutes ago, and within a minute I got a request to enter one of those alphabet codes to see if you are human or not. Then a couple of minutes after that the order was in my cart! I actually got it! I'm stunned.  icon_biggrin

I actually got one of the 360's last year (I had 3 computers all ready to go with family ready to push a button). Thank you high speed cable and a twitchy trigger finger!

I didn't get selected for anything yet this year. crybaby

I didn't get a chance to buy the PS3 but, this morning I received an email saying I was randomly selected for Round 4: Go Mobile.  I voted for the ASUS Eee PC 900 8.9-Inch Netbook.  Maybe I'll luck up and get it tomorrow?

I've been rejected on the emails for all the other deals so far, so perhaps the odds are in the realm of "possible" if you do get one of those emails that allow you to bid on the deal.

I got an offer on one, but not any of the things I would be willing to try for (mainly the PS2 and the TV).

And that is why they have to pick more people that merchandise. So it is your fault that it is a race to lose! I voted for all of them but was only interested in the PS3 and the mixer on the last day.  icon_biggrin

So what's so great about that mixer? I never would have figured that one to crush the other two entries, but didn't it get more than 80% of the vote? Color me confused.

That Flip Video gizmo for $50 would have been awesome as well, but I am on the outside looking in at that one.

Still no complaints from me. I still can't believe I snagged a PS3.

Damn, I have been selected again for Round 5.  Too bad, I don't have any more or I'd buy the Navigation thing for my wife.  I won't be able to even try either one, as I don't have a pc at work and all.  Round 4 starts in 3 hours and I'll be on the field doing God knows what...

I'd kill for a cheap stand mixer. If you're doing any amount of regular baking, they're basically a necessity, but a good one is god-awful expensive. And certainly outside the range that you can ask for as a gift.
