Looks like some good stuff in the October $5 album list.   One of my favorites  The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is there.  Its an awesome album, if youve never heard the whole thing.
Theres also quite a few good "Greatest hits" collections available as well.

I had already found the Avenged Sevenfold 'City of Evil' marked down toi 5 bucks a few days ago through my MP3 wishlist.  I noticed they've started giving you a blurb if an item has had a price drop since it was put on the list-  it's not as obvious as the shopping cart's big block o' yellow but it comes in handy when seeing what's been recently encheapened. 

I'm going to have to check out Robert Plant's 'Band of Joy'; that and the Steve Miller GH plus Rage Against the Machine, Risa Against (never listened to them but 5 bucks is a good way to check them out) and the Norah Jones album will probably be my buys off the list as I already have a bunch of them.  the Huey Lewis GH is pure cheesy fun, as is the Jimmy Buffet 'Songs You Know By Heart'.

I really have cut down on buying albums now that I have Spotify. The only benefit to owning an album now is so that I can play in on my IPod. Perhaps I'll start buying stuff again once Spotify limits the amount of time it can be used for free.

It's a really good record, and it came out before She and Him existed. M. Ward was an established indie musician long before She and Him started. In fact, I assume Zoey Deschanel approached M. Ward based on her affinity for his music. You still may not like it, but I just wanted to clarify.

Thanks.  I knew he did work beforehand, but I wasn't familiar with it before they formed their band.  It didn't grab me because I don't care for his vocal work as a solo artist from the samples of that album.  And that's a big thing for me.  If the music's good, but I don't like how the singer sounds, I'll generally pass on it.
