This showed up for me in my Amazon Local deals for Denver, but I imagine/hope it is available everywhere. You can 'buy' a free voucher that will let you get a 12 month Gold membership from Amazon for just $35.  Looks like it runs through Saturday and the voucher must be redeemed my 6/22.

Nice. I have 5 months left but I might as well jump on this good deal. I don't think I have ever paid more than $35 for xbox live for the past 4 years.

9 hours left.  debating whether or not to jump on as I'm good up through May 2013 and I'm sure there will be other deals by then.
