while the site is keeping up this year, the chance of getting something even when you click the second it opens up is slim.  I did that for three items just now and got waitlisted on the first two.

Folks are just blindly adding everything to their cart to 'reserve' it, then deciding whether they want it or not.

Yeah, but if you get in that early, there's a good chance you will still be able to buy it. Just hang out for a little bit. Happened to me yesterday and I still got the item. Once you claim it, you have 15 minutes, so if yu are near the top of the wait list, you should only have to wait about that long.

I managed to get Batman Arkham City last night.  I clicked on it within 5 seconds of the deal becoming active.  It took about a minute to be added to the cart. By the time I checked out a minute later, they were all gone.

I'm not sure I really want this though.  Anyone pick up a Forza 4 and want to trade?

I wound up buying almost nothing this year, kind of funny compared to last year. I think the reason is that I reserve Black Friday for $10-$15 game deals, and there weren't a lot this year. Also, last year I picked up all the greatest hits versions of games I needed to rebuy (Uncharted, R&C, Infamous, etc.) so there was less on my list. I did get Enslaved for $10 and I decided to buy a Kinect as a joint present for me and the wife.

Only thing of interest I found for today was Crysis 2 PC Download for $10. Been waiting for Amazon to get it cheap.

pretty much done with their sales unless there is something major, although I may try and grab The Ten Commandments blu ray during it's lightning sale.  I stocked up on a bunch of blu rays (some lightning deals, some I just had saved in my cart for easy checking on price changes), skipped all the video game deals (got too many sitting around already) and did some X-mas shopping on stuff that dropped in price.

for me:

The Princess Bride $4.99
The Expendables $11.99
The A-Team $9.99
The Hangover $10.99
The African Queen $7.99
King Kong $7.99
Knight & Day $7.99
The Incredible Hulk $9.99
Ghostbusters $7.99
Office Space $4.99
Scarface $11.99
Transformers Japanese Collection: Headmasters (DVD) $14.99

Arkham City is down to $29 on Amazon for both consoles. Can't decide whether to get this on console or pc for that price.
