Saw this at Cheapassgamer.  Best Buy has bundles, several varieties, but the 50" version will end up being about $1080.    Not bad at all if you were in the market for those things.  Would be a good time to consider them maybe.

Just click down the right hand side which tv, which 360, and which version of Halo 3 and see what the price is once in your cart.

I don't have this kind of cash laying around and I already have a 360, but I still think it is a decent deal.

that's basically giving you the 360 and the game for free.  looks like a good deal.  too bad it's:

DLP.  no go on a new hdtv unless it's plasma/lcd
720p.  good? yes.  1080p better and not worth my time/$ for something when i know how much 1080p models are going for.
360.  basically free, but i have one and the wife would kill me
halo 3.  already pre-ordered, but again, it's free this way
~$1100.  not in the budget, and again, i doubt i'd get much use with it after the wife kills me.

sammy's are pretty good tv's too.  the 30in flat wide hdtv i have looks just as good today as it did 4 years ago.

Sammy DLPs are outstanding.  I've got a 46" 720p and 61" 1080p Sammy's at home.   That's a helluva deal too- I paid more than that just for my 46" set earlier this year.

The irony is that they are charging 1080 for a deal that does 720  Roll Eyes

There's 1080p TVs available for the deal.  If I'm doing the math correctly, the 50" 1080p DLP TV would be about $1200.

What about the Mitsu Diamond DLPs?  The one I have uses mirrors instead of the color wheel...

It looks like they've changed the selection: there used to be 720p sets on the list.

I believe this was a typo.  The sunday ad (and an email sent to registered BB customers) shows that the wrong TV was marked at this price.  They stated that they will not be honoring this price on the 50".

EDIT:  Oops, I was thinking of a different brand.  Here's the email I got:

As a valued Best Buy customer, we want to inform you of an error that will appear in the September 23, 2007 Best BuyTM ad.  On the front cover we mistakenly listed the price of the 50" Panasonic Plasma TV (TH_50PZ77U- 8501711) at $1799, before $90 savings.  We intended to advertise the 42" Panasonic Plasma TV (TH-42PZ77U-8501757) at $1799, before $90 savings.

Best Buy will not be honoring this price on the aforementioned 50" Panasonic Plasma TV.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and we will offer a $100 Instant Rebate on all Plasma Televisions from Sunday, September 23, 2007 through Saturday, September 29, 2007. This Instant Rebate will be deducted from the price you see in the store, including our regular sale prices.

Thank you for your understanding.  We look forward to seeing you in our store soon.
