The new GoGamer.com madness deal is up.  Here are a few of the deals this time (all for PC):

Alone in the Dark - $14.90
Star Wars: Republic Commando - $5.90
Star Wars: Battlefront - $5.90
Star Wars. Battlefront 2 - $5.90
some Guild Wars, EQ2, POTBS and other stuff

Not a bad price for AitD considering it sounds like it will be getting a substantial patch soon.  Maybe Ron or a mod can put up an affiliate link?  slywink

Is Alone in the Dark worth it for $15?

i had some fun with it on the 360, and i do think it has potential.  that said, i sent my rental copy back in the hope that the 360 version gets patched as thoroughly as the ps3 version.

$15 is not much to give it a try, and with a pc patch on the way, it's not a huge risk.

That almost makes me want to get back into Guild Wars.  Almost.

Ooh not bad. For $15 I'll give AITD a shot. I keep hearing how there was so much potential to it but its ruined by the game mechanics. I imagine at some point someone will make a home brew update to fix things. Also picked up Republic Commando which I was always curious about.

Think I'll pick up Alone In The Dark as well. Was Republic Commando good? I remember playing the demo but I don't remember if I liked it. Clearly I didn't like it enough to spend $50, but $6 is a different ballgame.

I half remember the demo. And my thinking was it was ok but there may have been too many shooters out at the time to warrant a purchase. I did check IGN for a quick ratings check on Republic Commando and it had 8.3 or something like that. AITD PC had like a 3.5.

For $24 I'm sure I'll find some entertainment value in one of those games.

Republic Commando was a decent shooter -  IIRC it was pretty short, and not a lot of replay value, but for $6 it's worth it.
