Went to take a look.  The deals are good, but none of the monitors hit the magic 16ms response time.  Best I could find was on the 17", which was a 20ms.

The folks at Anandtech don't seem too concerned about response times under 25ms. Check this out: http://anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=1918

I have a friend who plays the same games I do (Half life 2, UT2K4, Generals, Battle for Middle Earth) and he is quite happy with his Dell 19" LCD.

I have one of the 20.1" LCD's coming my way - hopefully I'll like it!!

The 20" 2001FP does a have a 16ms response time.  I seem to remember the 2005FPW being a little faster than that.

I don't mean to be a dink, I'm just curious: other than thinness, what is the attraction of these things?  They seem to be inferior to normal CRTs in pretty much every way, and they get heaped with praised when they near CRT quality and response.  It really baffles the crap out of me...

They may not be for everyone. The biggest reasons I'm getting one is the light weight so I can take it LAN gaming, and I want a bigger screen than I have now (I have a 19" CRT).

As for being inferior, I don't know about that. I use numerous PC's at work that have a mix of LCD and CRT monitors, and I'll take the LCD anyday over the CRT's.
