The reason for Megatron not being a gun is largely because of the laws passed where you can't make a real-looking toy gun.  Remember when the Zapper for the NES had a grey barrel, but later ended up with an orange one?  That's part of the reason.  If you try to find an original Megatron, it can run you a couple of hundred dollars because it is pretty scarse now.  Apparently Hasbro thought about remaking Megatron in blaze orange and did a prototype, but it just wasn't the same, obviously.

thankfully, there's still a company out there that can make awesome TF toys...Takara (the maker of TFs in japan) is just releasing their new Masterpiece Megatron and it's absolutely awesome.  unfortunately, it's technically illegal to import into the US due to the restrictions on toy guns and can be confiscated by customs if you try.  it's the Megatron we've always wanted though...

Sorry for another Transformers thread resurrection, but a bunch of new pics of this toy were just posted, and well, I must have one.

Friggin awesome:

I bought the Masterpiece Optimus off of ebay, so how can I resist buying this in order to create:

It does seem like a slight improvement over the original toy:

A few forums have been buzzing about the DS/PSP game Puzzle Quest. Being a strategy game whore I immediately pre-ordered it from Amazon.
I know the title of the game is a bit misleading, but the game isn't really a strategy game.  It's more of a puzzle game...with quests.  Tongue

Yeah, I guess strategy game isn't the best term. I have played the PC demo, so I'm certain I'll love the full game. I really want it for lunchtime at work.

There's a PC version?  I've been hearing alot about this game but since I don't have a DS I haven't been paying attention.  I may have to give it a spin tonight- if I can rip myself away from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

There's a PC demo but oddly no option for downloadable purchase, the PC version isn't even officially announced.  It's bound to come out some day, but I'm guessing they're having some kind of publishing woes.

It really is just personal preference, I don't think you can go wrong with either version.  The companion bonus is nice for flavor, but it's not like you're going to have trouble winning battles without them.  I'm very happy with the stylus controls, especially for mount training where you only have 3 seconds to make a move, but I wouldn't mind having the nicer graphics on the PSP version.

If I still had my PSP, personally I'd probably still go for the DS version as it's more portable for my needs, and the stylus control is more important than graphics for me.

That is awesome. STOP TEMPTING ME.

You don't have to pay $80 to get your PSP in black!

Funny how so many seem to be on the same page as me as far as their pricing threshold for the PSP, $150 for the system, or $170 with a good game would be perfect for me.

I just hope that if they do come out with a redesign, they don't do something crazy like price it over $200.  Please?

My god, calm down man.

You may have noticed that you and Hetz have a history of getting under each other's skin.  This is drama.  I think it's fair to say that the forum as a whole is tired of seeing the two of you bicker.  Hetz is banned, and he's still being a baby to you.  We agree that this is bad.  If it's just harassment in Live, then that's between you, Hetz, and Microsoft.  If his harassment in Live alerts you to something he's planning to do in the forum, it's a great idea to shoot the mods a warning.  But how about giving them the warning via email or PM, instead of starting a new thread (while the original banning thread is still smoking) and calling Hetz names and threatening him directly?

That's all I meant with my initial post, is it really such a crazy thing for me to say?

So lemme get this straight, he throws some shit at me, trying to start crap all over again, and you guys basically think I am the bad guy for making it public? That is crazy...CRAZY. Ya know what, if you guys wanna defend him so badly, why don't you just try and get him reinstated, its obvious he is liked a helluva lot better than me here.

I don't think anyone here is defending Hetz, and I don't think anyone here thinks that you were asking Hetz to "start shit again".  I think everyone agrees that Hetz is being stupid by harassing you on Live.  It's just maybe, with the history of argument that you and he have, it would be better to work with the mods to keep him from harassing you on the board, instead of doing it publicly.

If you did feel it was necessary for it to be public, maybe it would've been better to just post the facts of what happened and what he threatened to do on the board, instead of calling him names and threatening him.

I'm really not out to get you, and I don't think the others in this thread are out to get you.  Hetz apparently is still out to get you, and that's just sad.

Someday, somehow, the "X Days without jblank/Hetz drama" sign on the front page will hit the double digits.

Just put him on ignore or whatever on Live, report any harassing PMs he sends you here so those alts get banned as well, and if he really does keep on his obsession with you then work with the mods to take some action with his ISP.

No need to again call him out or return his taunts in public, I mean, he's banned, what more do you want?

So, take a step back for a moment. How long did you play GTA after you finish the story? I played San Andreas for another 2 or 3 hours, doing miscellous things here and there. But despite it's open-ended nature and great gameplay, Grand Theft Auto isn't really that great of a game without a solid story. Am I really that crazy?

You're really that crazy.  Or maybe I'm crazy, one or the other. smile   But for every Grand Theft Auto from the original to III to San Andreas I've always gone through the same progression.  Mess around and have fun with my new sandbox, do enough missions to unlock the rest of the world, go back to sandbox fun.  I've put countless hours into the series as a whole, but I don't think I've ever beaten one of them.

The Live game is the Turtles game from the arcade.  I believe this VC TMNT is the "put hair on your chest" difficulty NES version.  You move around the surface in a top down view, and then go to a side scrolling view when you enter sewers or buildings.  There's a rant somewhere on youtube that captures the difficulty and frustration of the game quite well.

This is a VERY good way of putting it. To say it's one of the hardest games ever made is being nice.

And...why is Turtles 600 points? Aren't all NES games 500?

The extra 100 points is for your soul.

I thought I'd be able to resist the 360 version, since as of now it doesn't have all that much of an advantage over the PS2 version.  But it just hit me:

If the GH1 tracks are going to be available for download, does this mean that I'd be able to use practice mode on those GH1 songs, so that I can finally conquer the songs I loved but could never defeat?

Where to start...

$300 on the Lego Star Destroyer.  It was damn fun to put together but...where the heck in my tiny apartment am I supposed to store a 3 foot by 2 foot Star Destroyer?

$400 on a cello.  I don't know how to play the cello.  I wanted to learn to play the cello.  Why not buy a cello?  Because it's a friggin giant monster of an instrument that I still don't know how to play that's taking up a whole corner of the bedroom my tiny apartment.

$250 to help my girlfriend win an auction for a reproduction cel of Daffy Duck golfing, for her dad for Father's Day.  I think that one speaks for itself.

$100 on a stupid double down in Las Vegas.

$100 on Everquest II.  I bought the game online, but it was slow to ship so I bought it in a store so I could play on day 1.  I never got around to returning the 2nd copy, and I never even played the game past the free month.

If I had to pick one I guess it would be the cello.

From an IGN interview:

Quote
IGN: Can you outline your plans for using Xbox Live to download fresh songs?

Ted Lange: We're still in the process of confirming the final details and continue to secure more licenses, though nothing has been announced at this time, we can definitely say nobody will be disappointed. We are planning on having more online content than anyone has ever seen in a game to this date.

I know you can never trust pre-release promises, but "nobody will be disappointed" and "more online content than anyone has ever seen in a game to this date" sure sounds like they're planning more than "GH1 tracks and some indie stuff."

Am I creative or what?  Back to playing...

Well, you need to equip the item after you create it. smile  And yes, it should be in your inventory.

Is there any way to know what kind of item (head, armor, weapon, accessory) you're forging before you start making it?  I need a new piece of armor but everything I try to forge comes out as headpieces or accessories.

Hmm... I'll look again.  It said it created an item, but I didn't see anything, and the runes are still in my inventory.

You don't use up the runes.  Also, the name of the item (at least the first few words) should appear in the top left corner when you're crafting it, at least on the DS version.

I've actually migrated to using skulls -more- as my build has evolved.  I've got several items that increase my damage based on my red mana stores, and with 50+ mana stored up (easy to do with my spells) I do about 20 damage when I match 3 skulls.  Plus, I get even more opportunities for skull damage since I have an item that spawns a skull at the start of my turn 50% of the time, as well as the spell that turns greens into skulls.
