The gameplay is similar to Uncharted in viewpoint and controls, but instead of a lot of enemies coming at you in waves and firing guns like mad, it's a mix of sneaking and melee combat, with the small bouts of shooting with very limited ammo, and extreme deadliness.
Also there is a crafting system where you make various items to survive, like bandages to heal yourself and molotov cocktails.
You just earned yourself some more commission.

I just want to point out that until this thread, I didn't think the scene in Toy Story 3 was problematic at all, on any level except as an emotional one. It never even occurred to me that it would be an issue. I think the dramatic impact that follows is far more severe and important.
It's not the only time Pixar has featured dark content. To me the Toy Story 3 scene just pushed it a few levels further than they had done before.

I remember as a kid thinking how amazing Pirates of Darkwater was for being bold enough to permanently kill off a character. There are also some interesting examples from children's literature. Dr. Seuss's Thidwick, the Big-Hearted Moose (1948) features Thidwick pushing off several dozen forest creatures to be shot by hunters. The closing scene shows them all dead, mounted on the wall "stuffed, as they should be." "Get that moose! Get that moose!" Thidwick heard a voice call. "Fire again and again And shoot straight, one and all! We must get his head For the Harvard Club wall!"

I don't think Gaston survived his Nestea plunge from the top of the Beast's castle. The product placement they've been inserting into these movie rereleases is getting out of hand.

I think we can agree that the group accepting firey death Toy Story 3 scene was the darkest scene in the movie, yes? Or at least that it was a pretty darn grisly scene compared to the rest of the movie?
After that, you're just rejecting the notion that people can have different thresholds for what they think is kid-appropriate. Caine is fine with his 3-year-old seeing the scene. Super. I think my 3-year-old wouldn't handle it too well. Also super.
This isn't about the neutering of modern youth. I think there's a big difference between James having his parents eaten by a rhino and an entire cast of main characters holding hands and deciding to give up trying to survive.

Stupid excuse from Eidos, but I still don't think it's that big of a deal. The amount of internet handwringing and "OMG they've RUINED the Thief series!" seems awfully silly to me, but to each their own.
Ok, Gratch gets the Garrett voice actor that sounds like the Hamburglar.

I usually think about how I would love to play an HD remade version of X-Wing and TIE Fighter most every day. Those two games were so awesome.
Totally agree, and some recent space shooter releases have shown that console controllers can work just fine for the genre.

Eidos makes a good point. There has never been a voice actor who could portray an animated character without being able to physical perform every action that animated character does. It simply isn't possible.

Yeah the part where they were all sure they were going to die, give into that fact and grimly hold hands to meet their firey awful end was great fun.
But you know what happened then? They didn't die. It was still a pretty disturbing scene that seemed out of place. It's probably adding a few years to the age I'll be ok with my kids seeing the movie. The rest of the movie was fantastic, though.

Currently stuck on Depths I. Got every upgrade to level 4. All heroes to the 1st star except slash I've gotten to 2. Who have ya'll been using to get past this spot?
When you get to Depths I, do you have a full group? Are you dying from your lead character dying or from your group getting whittled away? And when you're playing, do you roam around the whole board? I find that when things get really tough I survive longer if I stick to one quadrant and make a jagged or zig-zag pattern. If I get an ice or sword powerup then I get more daring poking into the rest of the board.

Ok, so there were launch issues, and there's a bunch of problems with the simulation, and a bunch of huge bugs in the game, but you know what I really want them to focus on? Promotional buildings for the Nissan Leaf® that give me an edge in my game at no cost*! Need an extra incentive to go green in SimCity? Maybe you need a little boost in the form of the new Nissan Leaf Charging Station that is available today. This free in-game item is the perfect way to kick start your desire to create a city that will make you (and your Sims) happy. In the case of your Sims, In the case of your Sims, the Charging Station provides happiness to the Sims that use it and a onetime wave of happiness to the nearby businesses. Need another bonus? It produces no sewage or garbage. That’s right! Green indeed. To redeem the Charging Station, just visit this Origin page ( http://tinyurl.com/cculs88) and then restart your game in order for it to appear. You will need to use the same Origin ID that you use to play SimCity. If you have additional questions, check out our FAQ below. FAQ 1. What is the Nissan Leaf item? The Nissan Leaf item is the Nissan Leaf Charging Station. The Charging Station will be a new destination in player’s cities where their Sims will drive their Nissan Leaf cars in order to re-charge them. Once they leave the Sims will find themselves happier. 2. How do I get the Nissan Leaf content? There are three ways to get the Nissan Leaf content into a player’s game: • SimCity Launcher: Players can click the advertisement and it will take them to the SimCity Origin DLC page. • SimCity In-Game Billboard: Players can click the billboard on the Menu screen and it will take them to the SimCity Origin DLC page using the in-game online browser. • Origin Online Store Page: Players can find the Nissan Leaf item by clicking this link: http://tinyurl.com/cculs88 Once redeemed, you will need to restart the game in order for the Charging Station to appear in your game. This includes closing down the SimCity launcher if it is still open. 3. Is there additional gameplay added? Plopping down the Nissan Leaf Charging Station will add happiness to nearby buildings. Adding the Charging Station will not take power, water or workers away from your city. Zoom in to the streets of cities and players will start seeing a percentage of their Sims from all wealth classes driving the electric vehicles. The Charging Station produces no garbage or sewage as well making it pollution free. 4. Once I download it, where do I find it? You will find the Nissan Charging Station in the Power palette. 5. Is this available worldwide? Yes. 6. How much does it cost? This pack is free. 7. How long is the content available? Do characters level up when in the line or do you have to actively play them?
Only when they're the lead character you've chosen at the start. You can also use gems to level them up, though, if there's someone you just have no interest in using as a lead. And if you haven't already noticed, watch their armor when they level up so you can see the little visual upgrades they get.

I would think players who used the system a lot liked it, and players who never used it (me, for example) either hated it or didn't care about it. Or is that oversimplifying? I think it's more that the mere presence of the AH alters the game. In-game item drops just become junk commodities like gold. You're never excited about an item, other than its worth, because you're likely just going to sell it and then buy whatever item you want on the AH.

I got worried when I saw this had a freemium in-app purchase scheme but it seems perfectly fun and playable without handing over the cash monies.
I like it so much that I threw $5 their way to permanently unlock the red gems (worth 10X more). Doubt I'll buy anything else, but it was absolutely worth that at least. Yeah, I think I'll do that too. Gems can unlock new hero levels in addition to the stuff in the store, but even more importantly it seems like blue gems heal your main hero in-game more than green gems do. If red gems heal twice as much as blue, that seems like it'd really help survive.

Also, I am sad in my heart that there are only 14 episodes and a movie.
There are some graphic novels out there, too, if you want a wee bit more of the universe explored.

Oh man, Teggy. You know that item that was your second choice, and/or that item you thought of after you placed your receiver order? You totally should have gone with that. Oh man, get ready for so much remorse over going with the receiver. "What was I thinking?!" you'll think.

A nineteen year old girl named Candy?
Can you get that on Amazon? I love that the forum auto-linky algorithm is kicking in to ensure that GT gets a commission on any and all nineteen-year-old girls named Candy that Teggy ends up buying on Amazon.
