Will it make people stop begging for a remake of Lucasarts' Outlaws?  smirk

Fileplanet is hawking the demo of this heavily, it's on my list.

Man,  I played Outlaws a lot back then. Very fun!

I'll have to try the demo for Bound in Blood.
3  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Grudge Match: Warhammer vs. World of Warcraft on: July 17, 2009, 05:57:30 PM
I think it's unfair to fully compare the two as WoW had a much longer time to improve and age compared to WAR.  ninja

Hehe sorry. I'm actually pretty bad at sniper, but I've had a decent couple nights with it while the scout update is still such a huge fad.

All in fun  icon_cool

I forgot how fun the game is!

I am planning on joining the Wanderers Order and Destruction guild (separate servers) and then tool around until I find which class i would make my main. I am leaning toward the tanks so either Chosen or Swordmaster. DoK and Shadow Warrior look very cool too.

Some questions I have for you closed beta testers:

Are there two handed hammers and maces available to Chosen?
Black Orc seems the more offense damage over the Chosen, do Chosen stand a chance vs healers?
Rumor are there are quite a few armor sets available at higher level, is this true?
Coming from DAOC, during sieges, tanks pretty much manned siege or took out stragglers, is this pretty much the same in WAR until the doors crash down?

15  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Supreme Commander - Um.. I'll take one. on: October 25, 2006, 12:32:28 PM
I got into the beta and was able to play 2 games so far. I can't say too much about it due to NDA, but can list a few things:

The zoom is amazing! It is so nice to be able to lay out your base by zooming out and seeing the entire base and surrounding area. If you are more defensive oriented, you can build walls. Height does play into the game so setting up artillery or units in a mountain has a big advantage. Lasers will hit walls, not fly over them. Assigning patrols, setting up radars (which rocks!) you can see where the enemy is coming so send a patrol out to identify what exactly is moving toward you. The graphics are very good and the interface is not too cluttered. There are a lot of units, some are so tiny compared to the larger ones. I saw the moving land fortress in action and man is that thing huge! It has tons of guns on it and is a moving death platform heh..I plan to put more time into it this weekend but had a blast so far!

You guys can thank Whispa from OO for finding this link.

If you haven't already seen it, it is a video from Relic of the balance team playing Necrons vs. Tau.

Oh, and it's really fun to watch too.

Youtube Movie Link - Enjoy

I think they both look great, but holy evilness batman... those Necrons are awesome!

biggrin  Yea, it was a cool game to watch. Was fun to see some not seen before units in action also. Just a few more days to release!

I don't see myself getting bored with this game for quite sometime as I love watch replays and seeing the battles play out (while I see what I did wrong etc heh)

20  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [PC] D o W: MODs? on: March 26, 2006, 01:27:18 PM
I tried the Tau mod about a month ago. It looks like it is coming along well, but most buildings aren't skinned yet and some sounds of the Tau were generic (This might have changed recently though). With the expansion coming out in the fall, I uninstalled this mod. Haven't tried the other mods.
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Battlefield 2142 on: March 21, 2006, 03:52:28 PM
Some of that footage was in game.

I am sure it is the BF2 engine but as long as it isn't another Battlefield Vietnam, then I am pretty sure I will pick it up. I like the BF2 gameplay but I just hope this is a polished title as opposed to a rushed out before Holidays product.

25  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Call of Duty 2 Impressions Thread (minor spoilers only) on: October 27, 2005, 03:16:00 PM
I played the demo and liked it a lot. What concerns me is the multiplayer and speed of the game. Realism is pretty much thrown out the window for this one. I was turned off by the speed of DoD Source. Made using rifles really non existant.   frown

30  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I'm preloading Day of Defeat: Source right now on: September 28, 2005, 01:56:26 PM
After some more time with it last night, I really wish they slowed it down to the speed of the original. I like it, and I am sure it will grow on me but thats the most noticeable thing.

Other things I would like to see changed are:

Restrict the number of classes. Too many automatic gun battles..The original game allowed servers to restrict the classes to a certain amount chosen per battle.

Allow the sergeant to pick between the thompson machine gun and the carbine!!

It's fun, it will grow on me as the original did.

Man, I miss Caen frown

Granted, Chad's arm was not at full strength, but both he and Fielder know the playbook. Now they bring in a new body who does not know the system.
32  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / AFC EAST - What a mess on: September 27, 2005, 06:23:30 PM
Tough breaks for all 3 teams. The team impacted the most are the Jets as they lose their started and backup QB. Testaverde needs to learn a new offense so that will take time and they face a pissed off Baltimore D.

Pat's and Bills are obviously also are hurt by their losses.

The carbine is in, under the bazooka class. Problem is it only has 3 clips frown I loved that weapon in original DoD smile

So far, after playing a few rounds, I am impressed. It was fun, great graphics and the sound is top notch!

36  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Help... BF2 Lance Corporal Weapon Upgrade on: September 01, 2005, 03:28:58 PM
So far I unlocked the medic L85 and the SF G36C. Both are great options! The L85 scope can help pick off long range and has a nice auto option for close battles.

The G36C is my favorite weapon in game due to it's accuracy and stopping power. I highly recommend this one also.

Next up for me would probably be the DAO for anti vehicle. Although I use assault class a lot too, I would miss the grenade launcher too much so the G3 is not an option for me.
