By removing the monster in Amnesia you're removing the core of the game, the fear factor, the entire point of the game is to survive. If you wanted to experience the atmosphere, then congrats, you removed it and didn't experience it at all.
And yet he enjoyed it...

Go ahead and read The Hunger Games. Don't worry about the two that come after, just read the first for now. It's a good story and a quick read.
Are the other two books bad? Not at all. It's just that the first book tells a well-contained story by itself.

If I can't move and shoot then I am still out. One of the dumbest game play designs ever
I think it was smart, myself. It made encounters with zombies a lot more terrifying. What's so dumb about it? If artificial restrictions are what is needed to create a feeling of terror and stress then why not go all the way with it? Make your character a one-legged, one-eyed person. You can only move by awkwardly hopping around and the left half of your screen is black so you never can quite tell how close a zombie may be on your blind side. Couldn't get much more stressful and terrifying than that. Nah. On second thought, that would be ridiculous. Instead how about a game that doesn't let you frantically retreat while you are firing wildly and inaccurately at a horde of zombies that are closing in? That was my problem with RE4. That and escorting the stupid president's daughter around.

In my head I still see Dr Who as David Tennant. Even after seeing all the new episodes so far, every time I go a little while without watching Dr Who and I see him as Matt Smith, I say "oh ya, I forgot about that, David Tennant is not Dr Who any more."
I don't know if that is just because Tennant was so great or because Smith is kind of forgettable. Maybe both.
I loved Tennant but by the end I was so tired of all the melodramatic crap with Rose and him saying "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry" every other episode. Smith is a breath of fresh air and doesn't have the continuity problems Tennant had to deal with.

What kind of user involvement does Sugarsync require that's more than Dropbox?
Not much. Dropbox is pretty simple and SugarSync aims for that but is a bit rougher around the edges. They also have a lot more features available and make it easy to set things up like I have it: a "Photos" folder that syncs across three computers and a "Sync" folder that syncs across only two of those three computers. Those folders could conceivably be anywhere on your system (not limited to a "My Dropbox" folder for example).

Dropbox is great and pretty much a no-brainer but I've actually stopped using it and switched to SugarSync. Sugarsync starts you off with 5gb free space for an account. I also like the fact that they have a $5/month plan that gives you 30 GB (more than enough for lots of online photos, etc for me) where Dropbox's paid plans start at $10/month for 50 GB. It does require a bit more user involvement so it's not really for grandmas, etc.

There is no 5th season Two words: singing psychics I was surprised to see this thread resurrected! I really didn't like Season 1 but ended up loving 2, 3 and 4. The last season was... well... singing psychics.

The incident happened in December but was only confirmed today, because the prison and Bernie Madoff are liars. Reading about a "homosexual posse" and other prison gangs only confirms my notion that the U.S. prison system needs some serious reform. People should not become more violent after going to prison. As for Madoff, I don't consider being assaulted in prison as some kind of appropriate additional punishment. Tell that to the people who lost everything they owned because of him and are living in a one room apartment and eating ramen noodles in their retirement. The only appropriate punishment for him is to never get out of prison. The only good thing he did was wake some people up to other con artists just like him so maybe they don't get ripped off as bad. Isn't never getting out of prison the punishment he's been given? Well, that and a beating apparently.

Just got started on this tonight and I'm liking it so far. Always interesting to see the new things they do with each iteration of the series. I will say I was taken aback by the dude with the bird in his 'fro. That's some strange character design.
Game looks great on the 360 and I think the music is well-done. Very interested to see where this goes.

It is a great game. I finished Mass Effect 2, went back and replayed Mass Effect 1 with a completely different character and finished it (for the 3rd time). I'm now back playing Mass Effect 2 again, this time on Hardcore as a female Infiltrator. I really like Hardcore and wish I'd started out that way the first time through. I have to think so much more during the combat which is a lot of fun. Edit: One more thing. I wish they'd just get rid of the romance/sex part of the games. They're always done poorly and are embarrassingly cliche. It's such a formula now in their games (haven't played Dragon Age but I'm guessing it doesn't stray too far from the rut). Hmm... there's a female NPC in my party... I wonder if I choose just the right conversation options and do her loyalty quest will I get to have awkward PG-13 simulated space sex? Ugh. I have no problem with sex in games but Bioware really needs to mix things up.

In for the 360 version. I don't think I've ever finished a Final Fantasy game until a year or two (or sometimes many years) after its release. I really want to focus on this one and enjoy it along with everyone else.

I'm guessing those 100 classic books are all public domain and could be freely downloaded from a site like Feedbooks and used with the iPad, Kindle and Sony's ereader.
Nice try though Nintendo.
