I liked it... pretty much.  It did seem like they were at times trying to figure things out as they were filming...but I kinda like the dark bits and the idea with the ship stopping etc....was pretty good.

The one thing I really like but really hate/like is Eli...wtf...take the guy that lives with his mom in a basement is just too geeky and silly to like...and not to like as well.  And how he got there was just... well not sure what to say about that

Did you use the disc after you installed to add all the drivers? That's how my Macbook was until I used the install disk and now it works perfectly.

We use macs and only macs at work...mostly.  Data base, email, chat, word processing etc...and they work great.  I also have a PC on my desk for running things that won't run on a Mac.

I have 3 networked PC's at home and a Macbook.  I play games on my pc's since only WoW runs on my lappy.  If I want L4D....well PC time.

That is the main difference imho.  Other than that, they both do the same thing, in different ways.  Macs are easier to set up, the are better at virus protection (since no one writes em for a mac), and as for reliability, I have to say that has to lean towards Macs...since most of the issues that come up with my PC's just wouldn't happen on a Mac.

The debate...frankly I don't think there should be one...just facts.  PC's cost less.  Macs are much more elegant.  PC's play way more games and have many more programs available and sometimes you just can't use a Mac. There are fewer steps in setting up a Mac on a network than on a PC.

I have both because I need both.  I also have dress shoes and running shoes because, well....you see what I mean.

I agree..and frankly winning Idol seems to have no correlation with actual talent for the most part.  I think she will put Simon in his place.  Really I had to stop watching the show because I am pretty much embarrassed to be part of the same species as Simon.  While I realize people try out often for 30 seconds of fame, he really is a prick.

Is Ellen a better judge of "talent"?  Maybe not but that is so not what Idol is about. I think the impending fights between Ellen and Simon will be stuff that legends are made of.

Just finished up 4 and 5 and .....

So much for campy fun.  NOT what I expected.

Okay, you've got me interested.  Do I need to watch the first two seasons of Torchwood before watching the new one? Are they worth watching?

I've liked both seasons, or at least what I saw of season 2. I've also heard there are certain events at the end of series 2 that could potentially be spoiled by watching this latest series, so I'm waiting to catch up on all of it.

What he said.  There are not a huge number of episodes and it is campy good fun...it has it's moments but overall, it beats a lot of the drivel out there.

I still have 4 and 5 to watch- I knew if I saw 4 I would want to see 5 right away so I waited.

As for 1-3, definitely the best Torchwood ever.  They really went all out- great story, action all that...IF you like the show.  If you are on the fence, definitely watch the 5 parter, you will not be disappointed.

She does have a great rack, but those crazy eyes she has freak me out. Asstastic music too.

PLUS...do NOT give up.  You may be tempted but last season was outstanding...they came back from the brink of being lost to find Lost so as to no be lost and now it is found. Or something.

While there are some things we may never learn, we got huge amount of information last season to un-lost Lost and expect tons more in the upcoming LAST season.

Really though, keep watching, it really is worth it.

I would like to get FIOS TV...I have it for my phone and internet but the only way the bundle will save me money is if I can expand the size of the hard drive on their DVR.  It currently holds 80 hours of SD or 20 of HD which is hugely insufficient for your needs.  Getting 2 DVR's will add 40.00 to the monthly charge so that makes it even more than my DirectTV bill now so...

I called Verizon, asked the *salesman* if you can attach an external hard drive to the usb port.  He put me on hold for 10 minutes to "check with tech support", came back and said "yes, you can"  He claimed that they told him that you just plug it in, and when you record a program, you will get an on screen prompt to choose what disk you want to record to.  This is AWESOME news since they have been hinting at this for years.

Then I posted on the verizon forums to follow up and I got 2 non-verizon person posts saying that you cannot do this yet.

So to make a long story short, has anyone here ever or currently has attached an external HD to a Verizon DVR?
