I would rather do without the confusion Scoop as the Seer presents.  It's that simple.  The only time we can trust anything from him is after he is lynched and if he turns up as a villager upon lynch.

Leaving him alive only leads to more confusion.  Is he infected already?  Don't know which means not trusting his scan today.  If he lives through the night, was he infected during the night or was he protected?  Don't know.  Can't trust him, again.  No matter what we do, as long as Scoop is alive, we can't trust his scans.  This is the crux of the problem and there is no simple way around it that I can see other than lynching him and then trusting his scans if he was still a villager.

This is all assuming Scoop is telling the truth about being the Seer.

(FYI - Scoop - check my last game here, the last game on OO, and the current one.  Good luck reading me again)

If anyone is spreading confusion its you.

Go ahead and kill me please so I don't have to deal with this. UGH!

you left something out of your analysis there Scoop.  Maybe the alpha wolf didnt convert you because you are already lycan.  I see three possibilities here.
   1) You are the seer and have been converted.  This seems extremely likely to me.  Taking the seer out thru conversion, even if they know you may be lynched soon, gives you the chance to sew confusion and misinformation through out the village.  Plus it draws attention away from the two special wolves while the village concentrates on your situation.  If we let you live this buys them even more time and that is a major risk to take.
   2) you are not the seer and are a wolf.  While I feel this is less likely, the end result is the same if we dont lynch you,  you buy more time while distracting us from the other wolf.
   3)  you are the seer and for some unfathomable reason wasnt converted.  I find this to be very unlikely.
The smart wolf play and what I feel happened last nite was that the wolves converted you and therefore had no reason to kill you.  They instead chose to go after Bulletpig, whom the hunter protected, which under the circumstances was the right move.  By doing this the wolves are guaranteed to take out 2 specials in two days. I cant see them missing this opportunity.
2 of these 3 scenarios have you being a wolf and they are the 2 most likely scenarios.  I feel theres better than a 2/3 chance you are a wolf and cant see any logical reason to lynch someone else in your place.  Not with those odds.  Sorry but my vote stands.

Quit reading my mind.

FYI to everyone: I'd really like to see theohall come up with an original post with some original rationale instead of lopping along with with other people's post to justify his vote. Thats two posts now where he basically posted "yeah, what he said".

Why should I waste my time saying the exact same things with different words, because that is all you would get?  They just beat me to the punch.  Sorry I am not on GT 24/7 in order to say it first.  Roll Eyes

I find myself in those situations to exude calm.  There is no laughing, but a matter of factness in my attidude and demeanor that focuses on getting out of whatever shits-storm is happening without getting anyone else hurt and trying to keep the more stressful parts to a minimum.  I have no idea why.

All of my life, whenever there is some kind of crisis with anyone or anything, I tend to be the one that stays calm throughout it and don't really mentally accept how screwed up something was/is until much later.  It's like my mind over-rides the "OMG" factor of whatever is happening and winds up working on a ridiculously sane rational level, until the crisis is over.

Regardless of today, Scoop's dead by Day 3.  If we lynch someone else and he gets protected to give us a scan result on Day 2, he's either wolf/vamp fodder on night two, or we lynch him on day three.  For a wolf, it's a bold play for a team of three or more, a questionable early play with only two, and in this game, downright suicidal for a member of the vamp team, as it does not further their goals, since they need to build a team, not start taking attrition.  It's possible that the wolves leave him alone, but risky as that leaves him alive out there gathering information against them.

I'm willing to give Scoop the benefit of the doubt today.

exactly.

theohall, you should know this.
with resurrection we could possibly get 4 scans out of him. Kill him now and we only get 2.

To be honest, I'm leaning he's a bad guy (wolf or vampire), but I thought that before about a seer and was wrong. I'd rather take the safe approach.

Fine.  Just be sure not to lynch anyone Scoop suggests.

It would be difficult for it to be close to the whole book, since the movies already screwed up the story which was presented in the books.

I just want to thank all the gamers out there who buy DLC.  Thank you for not taking a stand and saying, I already paid full price for a game, I shouldn't have to buy minor updates/items/map packs to get the full experience of the game.  Thank you all for legitimizing this business.  In the near future, we'll be paying full price for a 40% of the game, and will have to spend even more money to get the rest of it.

This seems like a funny thing to thank people for.   icon_confused

Personally, I've never bought any DLC for games that I didn't already have the "full experience of".  For example, I enjoyed Bioshock 2 a great deal and certainly don't feel ripped off because Minerva's Den wasn't part of the original release.  I'm excited to spend some points and have some more BS2 to play.

Because that is exactly what a wolf pretending to be the Seer would prefer.  Why should we trust you on your say-so?  This effort to get us to follow your lead when we have zero information, other than a specious claim made as a last gasp to survive, makes me think you are trying to play Wolf-in-Seer's-clothing.

I'm curious how the ratings for things like this stack up once they take DVRs, OnDemand and such things into account.  These days there are certainly more options other than to watch a show on the first night it is broadcast.

Considering I watch darn near everything via Hulu or other means and rarely when it is on actual tv due to real-life circumstances, I wonder this as well.

going to propose an idea.  With the village at it's current population, higher than it has ever been, this village has the one thing on it's side that is usually very lacking - time.  The only person we want the Sorc to rez is the Seer, right?  So.... Why not lynch Scoop, let the Undertaker scan him to prove his identity, then rez him if he really is the Seer?  Thoughts?

Yes, it's off the wall but it is a darn near sure-fire way to verify Scoop's identity - 1st as a villager via the lynch, then as the Seer via the Undertaker's scan.  If he isn't a villager - it is all good for us.

Ok, glad I could help. Now vote with me and lets put scrapper on the scrap pile!

This is why I voted for Scoop.  The "Third" paragraph, while dripping with sarcasm, is a ridiculously blatant effort to make you think you should trust him.  Then the throwaway line of "glad I could help" as if we really needed anyone's "help" on a Day One crap shoot.

No one trusts or earns the trust of anyone with just their words on Day One and Scoop should know better than to try.  The only ones who should be trying to garner trust early are those who have a reason to need our trust - and villagers only earn trust be using their abilities - if they have any.

This should debunk his claim of me having no reason, and, yes, we have butted heads in a few other villages.

Thoughts on the game...

1) Soulchilde lynch.  Never expected that to happen.  Was kind of concerned about it, because I was one of the first to put a vote on him.  Granted, it's the ridiculous reason that "he accused someone first."

2) Bulletpig block - Completely random selection as a wolf target.  It would not have mattered what anyone posted in the game.  He was the target.  His block ID'd him almost certainly as the Hunter.  Since Hunter cannot protect same target twice, #4) became inevitable.

3) newcastle lynch.  When this happened, IMO it played into the wolves hands, because it gave me (Alpha Wolf) something to use against the bloodthirsty lynch mobs who were not discussing things.  The perfect cover - pretend to be outraged at not having enough opportunity to speak.

4) Bulletpig is now dinner.  After this order was sent, Qantaga pointed out in a PM ravenvii's one line Seer giveaway post, which I had completely missed.

5) CeeKay lynch.  At this point, ravenvii knows I am a wolf and says nothing, ever.  Why???  Had ravenvii outed me, CeeKay does not self-vote, CeeKay already suspects me, and I have no real defense other than pretending to be the Hunter - which would have gotten me killed anyway, because I cannot shoot anyone.  IMO, had CeeKay not self-voted, I am not certain the wolves could have gotten the nth vote without me piling on which would put all the wolves on the CeeKay lynch.  Yes, CeeKay read this correctly irt my actions, but I think screwed up when he did not retract his self vote.  The combination of the CeeKay self-vote and ravenvii keeping secrets cost the village the game.  Someone once said if you find a wolf as the Seer, you might as well out instead of waiting, because you might not get the chance to share if you keep the secret.  It also gives the village another turn to find the remaining bad guys.

6) Goodbye ravenvii.  It was not like we had not repeatedly referred to the post in which he outed himself, so he was the obvious target.  Still curious as to why he did not reveal I was a wolf before this night.

7) As you could see, each of us wolves initially picked a different target.  The goal was to get the villagers to start a train on one of them, but then Isgrimnur jumps in pegging me and I figured getting him to 3 votes using the weak triggercut principle, we could encourage one more villager to pile on and Qantaga could finish him off.  rshetts2 obliged and Qantaga piled on.
