Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Game Discussion: THUG 2

Hey everybody, my preview of THUG 2 is up and I thought if anyone wanted to ask me some questions about it I'd be happy to field 'em. There was a ton of stuff about the game that I left out- there's a lot to the game. Anyways, it looks like a blast and I've even got my wife interested in playing it!

nah, they never let me play with those toys I was the web/multimedia designer. I'm in the credits for both KIS and KAG but I don't think they have any of the work I did for them anywhere anymore. I remember the day we went gold with KIS I changed the gleaming flash logo that I had on the site to a gold version that really looked sweet. sigh. My friend Tom is in my opinion one of the best there; his site is http://www.romus5.com/. I don't think Ricky or Philly have sites but their art was prominently featured as well.

man, I remember when I was working at TG for the first one- the buzz was 10 times what it is for this one. Who knew strategy first was actually doing something right?
Instead Take Two launches it under their lame label, Globalsoft?!?!?!?
In fact I'm talking to some of the guys there via IM right now, and they're pretty pissed....

No, it's just the biggest x-box game release to date.
I for one welcome creative marketing campaigns such as this. beats a crappy annoying one. I was looking frorward to halo2 strictly for multiplayer on live, but now I'm actually interested in the story in single player.
It makes sense to me, make your marketing into a game for your target audience so they get more excited about the game that you want to sell to them.
I just don't understand why people are dissing it so much. I wish more marketing had this much thought and effort put into it.

B & W was missing something crucial: GAMEPLAY
At some point during the game I realized it would be more fun to raise my own real child rather than a graphically pretty Tamagotchi.
Let's just say I'm reserved about Fable....

Purge, it wasn't shot down. the cobalt theme is a prototype and an unfinished work in progress Most of the features such as the graphical link will be as it is in subsilver most likely.
sigh.

Let me further clear this up-
Cobalt is a prototype/ work-in-progress. use at your own risk. Eventually, I will finish it, and it still won't be cobalt, it'll be something else entirely.
nothing to see here. carry on.

i dislike windows xp. it runs my games, and it is generlly ok, but i have a few problems with it. first, it is so open to spware its unbeleivable. the os is like a metaphor for an open door. it gets all kind of viruses , its ridiculous. also, there is not an easy way to save files. there are multiple directories holding the same thing for each user on the computer, that soaks up so much space. i have 1 gb of music, but because it is replicated twice more, i end up using 3 to save music that should only take up 1. its sucha a hassle to have to go in and clean that crap out fso i have space on the hard drive again. The security issues are not just xp, but all windows os'. It's just focused on xp because that's the latest and greatest. Try out a Mac (and, btw, you can ditch the urinal puck and go with any two button sroll mouse- osx supports it. I hate those one button mice...) I have no idea what you are talking about regarding the saving of files tho. just don't use the 'music' folder. make up your own. sure, there are seperate settings for each user, with seperate desktops, etc. that's the same on just about any os, it's sop.

well, personally, I think the idea of trying to make a page look exactly the same across all browsers is The Impossible Dream. It just ain't gonna happen, even if you are using flash.
As long as my content isn't broken and degredation is within acceptable parameters I'm cool with it. Can you give an example of what you are referring to, Purge?

uh... if I recall, the back end is not strict xhtml.
There has yet to be a database driven cms that validates strict xhtml. I met someone at sxsw interactive earlier this year who is trying to make one, but there are many factors that are hindering this.
Firefox/ mozilla is in fact the most standards compliant browser there is. Safari is getting there. Supposedly, we may see a more standards compliant IE sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath....

Thankfully Service Pack 2 fixes a great many of those issues, but it's only available to the Corporate users as of right now. Those of you who have the Home or Professional editions will have to wait just a bit longer.
Actually, I already got it  it's a torrent: http://sp2torrent.com/. Thank you Penny Arcade! Btw, this is the reason why I build my own rigs. There's nothing quite like booting up xp for the first time after installing oem version and seeing NOTHING in 'Teletubby land' but your recycle bin....

I need to know what your site does- it is not readily apparent from this index page. The first thing I need to know when I visit that index page is what your company/ website does. And yes, spell it out for the stupid people, because there are a TON of them
