If she was interested she would make time. Saying that stuff about being busy for 2 weeks is just her playing you and seeing how much leash she can keep you on. Wants to see how desperate you are. No matter how you play it off, it is not a good sign. Working 30 hours a week is nothing. Leaves plenty of time. Those other "projects" are other leashes she has out there. If she was truly interested she would make time. Spank it and move on.

I hope whoever wins the NLCS wins the World Series. It would be the ultimate dis to Cubs fans to see the White Sox win. This mentality is so stupid. Are the Cubs and their fans so obsessed with tryin to do better than the Sox, a team not even in their division, that they would rather see some team from their division, who are obviously better than the Cubs, because they are in the playoffs and the Cubs arent, win the World Series? Maybe if they spent more time worrying about the teams in their division or why the owners cant put together a winning team, despite of all of the money they have from those constant sellouts, they would be good enough to have been the team that has ended the long drought BOTH Chicago teams have gone through. The Sox dont draw as many fans as the Cubs. The Sox owners dont have the money of the Cubs owners (though they aint eating goverment cheese). But the Sox did it. All of Chicago should be proud and rooting for them. When the Cubs had a shot I rooted for them. I aint dumb enough to deprive myself the joy of seeing a World Series played in Chicago, my hometown, no matter which team it is. Both teams have sucked for so long, I think it is fucking hilarious when the fans argue about who sucks less. It is October. There will be baseball in Chicago. I am gonna watch and I am gonna love every fucking minute, win or lose. And if it were the Cubs, I would do the same. Just makes it sweeter that it is the Sox.

I was hoping this thread would just die a lonely death, but it appears not. I dont take offense at suggestions that the price was too high. Just the way some of them were presented. Someone said the game is only worth what someone was willing to pay for it. So I did take satisfaction that someone thought my original price was fair, cause I wouldnt have priced it at that had I not thought so. I put the auction at a starting price of $9.99 with a buy-it-now option of $30, so the opportunity was there for someone to get it at a lower price. But someone felt that $30.00 was fair and used buy-it-now. I have traded enough to know how this stuff works. I offered it here first and instead of getting constructive input or counter-offers as to what the price should be, all I was getting was the feeling that people thought I was trying to gouge. I stated that I bought the game for $49.99, which was no more than 1 month ago, and if you go to Best Buy or Circuit City or Frys it is still going for that price. So I didnt understand how people would think that asking $30.00 for it now could think that was unreasonable. I guess I should know that most people visiting a gaming site have already scoured the sale papers when these games come out, and tend to buy them right away that way. But I dont. I get them when I can afford them. And no one was saying how high they thought the price was or should be, which may have been helpful. Anyway, whatever. If I misconstrued peoples intentions, sorry. But I think there are some who misconstrued mine.
And I would like to point out, as verified in the link that warning provided, that this is not the first time LE has posted in on one of my threads for no other reason but to give his opinion about the price. The first time I took it as constructive critisism. When he did it again in this thread, and the way he did it, I felt there might be some other motive. I really dont see alot of that kind of stuff going on in other trade threads, and I certainly have seen the opportunity for some similar comments, as I have seen some offers and prices in other's threads that I knew were high myself.

What things sell for on eBay is hardly indicative of the real world. You could probably list the contents of your local Walmart on eBay and turn a profit.
The simple fact is that if you are seeking top dollar, sell it on eBay. My objective wasnt to make "top dollar". My objective was to offer it here first at a reasonable price. But seeing as how I keep being subtlety accused of trying to charge too much for this game, I am glad I sold it on ebay. I have done alot of trades here and on OO without any problems and I dont appreciate the insinuations I was trying to rip people off on this transaction. You guy have soured me from offering anything else here. Congrats. And ebay may not be indicitive of the "real world", but I got paid in real dollars. I dont know, maybe for some of you, a little time away from the net might be good, if this is becoming YOUR "real world".

The lack of actual impressions for this game disturbs me. For a title that seemed to be anticipated by quite a few people here, the fact that there are only a couple of short, not so glowing reviews so far, means that my copy will stay unopened. I have a feeling I am not alone.

Honestly, I think it hits its intended market perfectly. This ad is not for you and me; it is for 13-year-olds. They will be begging mom and dad for this game. Which is all fine and dandy till someone hacks the game and discovers the hidden "Hot Chocolate Lab" part.

Or say it wasnt working when you shipped it. Must have been bounced around in transit and, voila, now the touch screen works. Ask them if they notice anything else. If they say there are dead pixels say those werent there before!!! Then refuse to take back a unit with dead pixels. Done.

All this arguing about hard drives and controllers. Have none of you people even noticed that no matter which version you decide to buy, Microsoft was kind enough to include a faceplate? No more ugly, faceplate-less console sitting on your shelves. ISNT THAT ENOUGH??? WHAT MORE DO YOU GUYS WANT???? What a bunch of ungrateful bastards.

Half of what you listed could be had for $10 new at Circuit City when you initially listed, and the other half are $5-$10 retail at EB/Gamestop/Best Buy/Fry's.
What I mean is, if you're not a reseller, you certainly priced far too high on the older stuff. $26 for Silent Hunter 3 isn't too bad. The rest are actually more expensive than they are brand new.
Good luck with your eBay auction. Yea I guess I should have originally added that I was totally flexible on the prices that were listed. Kinda thought there would be some offers thrown out there. If I had known earlier the prices were too high, I certainly would have lowered them more. Just trying to clear some room.

This whole list of games (minus Warlords IV & Silent Hunter) is up on ebay right now. The auction is currently at $15.00 for all of them. If anyone wants a great deal on these games, go get em. Even if you only want a couple out of the whole lot, at that price it is still a great deal.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / How to reapproach NWN
|
on: July 24, 2005, 05:58:56 PM
|
|
I am thinking about firing up NWN. I have played the original module, but lost interest about half way through. I now have both expansions and am wondering what the best way to reapproach this game is. Do I start frrom the beginning to get the most enjoyment out of the whole experience? Or, given the fact that the original didnt hold my interest the first time, should I "cheat" and jump to one of the expansions right away? Will I lose some of the feeling of being involved if I use a prebuilt (meaning I think you start off at a higher exp level, right?) character to start off one of the expansions instead of buiding my character from scratch from the beginning? For those that have played through it all, what do you think?
And BTW, is the Bioware website down or dead?

Went to my brothers for his son's graduation party this weekend. My nephew had a PSP. All I can say is, if that is the biggest, best screen, I'm in trouble. I have worn glasses all my life and the peepers aint gettin any better as I approach 40. The game he had was Untold Legends and man was I struggling to see and play it. This scares me. How does the DS screen compare in size and quality?

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I think I have narrowed it down to getting a Nintendo system. My only other question would ne, is the DS necessary or would I be just as happy for now going with the GBA SP? Reason I ask is some places have the GBA on sale for like $80, whereas the DS is going for $150? Is it worth the extra for the DS?

I know this has been discussed before, but I figured it's ok to ask since the hype has died down. Today I had a garage sale and made ALOT of my fellow neighborhood geeks very happy. I sold a ton of old systems and games. Now I sit with a wad of cash, with an eye on FINALLY buying a handheld. I have never even tried any of them. So.....what is the best portable gaming system bang for my buck? I am not into the Mario ot Tetris type games too much. I dig a good dungeon crawl, golf, FPS. Something that will keep me interested in it for awhile. Something that has a good choice of games. So I am open to any type, new or old, just as long as it has legs and I wont regret buying it. I have rid myself of the old. I am ready to move onto mobile gaming, even if it is with an older system. Whatever the best way to go is.....What do ya think?

I dont know where all this "PC gaming is so expensive" stuff comes from. I have a E-Machine 2.0ghz that I bought at Best Buy over 2 years ago for $250 and I am able to play every game that has come out. I did add ram and a video card, but total cost of those was about $150. So for $400 I have been gaming on this PC for over 2 years. Not a bad deal. BTW I also own all 3 consoles, but I spend WAY more time gaming on my PC.

O.k., I'm intrigued at the idea of trading in old games and systems to possibly get a PSP. I have a couple of original Nintendo systems with a bunch of games. I have a N64 with a couple of games. I have a PS1 with a couple of games. I have a Genesis w/the cd add-on and a bunch of games. I have a Dreamcast with a couple of games. I have acouple of Super Nintendos with some games. I have some assorted joysticks, controllers and the mouse and tablet for the Nintendo. What is my best option to trade this stuff in and get the most money?
