$40,000 a year.
$40,000 divided by 52 weeks = $770 a week
$770 a week divided by 60 hours = $12.82 an hour.
$25,000 a year.
$25,000 divided by 52 weeks = $480 a week
$480 a week divided by 40 hours = $12.00 an hour.
Add $.75 an hour = $12.75 an hour.
Having a life = priceless.

Man, I've never felt more like that person you see huddled in the corner, giggling to himself, than when I post here.
I guess I easily amuse myself. I'll try to explain. Hetz and Kobra have a long history of sniping at each other at OO. Lately it seems most people are fed up with Kobra and are calling for his head. Hetz just seems to lead the charge most times.
So with OO being down, conspriacy theories start to be formed.
Usually it is blamed on LaPorte, but I thought this time it might have been the Hetz-Kobra flame war that brought OO to its knees.
I will now return to the corner and continue the giggling to myself.

You were going to sell it on ebay, untiil this thread convinced you otherwise. Could you be any more self righteous? Ummmm....yea, sure....it was this thread and your wise words that stopped me from putting it on ebay. You showed me the light. ALL PRAISE HETZ!!!!! My brother asking me to sell it to him for his kids had absolutely NOTHING to do with my decision. I would have just as soon kicked him in the nuts and jammed a broken ornament in his ear than do something like that. I actually looked forward to counting my money in front of the little bastards, as they sat there weeping under their 360-less tree. I'm sure I woulda laughed so hard that the egg nog would have flew outta my fucking nose!!! Yea, the visions of torture and plague were just starting to become clear in my mind, as my plan to bankroll my domination through buying 360's and selling them for profit seemed to be falling right into place. That is, until I posted here. And you replied. My life changed instantly. I saw the beauty of giving, as you so elequently pointed out the error of my ways. I saw that man CAN improve his life, if he only takes the time to READ the postings of a total stranger on the internet. You took my greed and turned it to love. So I now see the errors of my ways. And your truth and wisdom have become the blood that flows through my veins as I seek to redeem myself, just so I can post here with a clear conscience. I have had a karmic epiphany. I now have devised a NEW plan. One not of greed, but of redemption. With the lessons have I learned from the 360 launch as my new religion and Hetz as my prophet, I shall make a list of all the people I have wronged in the past. I shall seek these people out and beg forgiveness for my past transgressions. And as I travel to find these people, some will remember me, some wont. But all shall remember me as I leave, for I am determined to leave the mark on others that you have left on me. And as I turn to walk away, I will leave them all with these final words: I once was blind, but now I see, there is more to life than my pursuit of the 360, An anonymous poster on a gaming website has taught me, that ebay is for the wicked, and so wisely scorned me, with words so wise and rare that it made my toes curl, I bid you adieu, My name is Earl.

A quick check on ebay shows that surround system going for an average of about $200, with a couple being sold for Buy It Now prices of $299. I think you'll be fine getting most of your dough back for them.

I think you got fucked. What do you mean? I think what he means is "I'm jealous you finally got what you want and I am bitter enough to try and crap on your parade. Once I get bumped up to Fry Guy, I may have enough to afford to buy my own , but for now I will just try to get my entertainment the old fashion way, by trying to bring others down to my level of misery." Part 2: The Last Temptation of Hetz I thought it was wrong for him to "suffer" for a system for the express purpose for selling it on EBAY, when there are people like msduncan waiting in line for it getting denied one because of people like that. You really are dense arent you? How many times must I say I DIDNT STAND IN LINE WITH THE EXPRESS PURPOSE FOR SELLING IT ON EBAY!!!!!!!! AND I DIDNT SELL IT ON EBAY!!!!!AND I DIDNT SELL IT FOR PROFIT!!!!!!!! IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH?????? Get your head out of your ass and wipe the shit out of your eyes and READ the fucking posts before you post your stupid replies trying to defend yourself. And now...this thread can die.

Isnt it ironic....dont ya think?
About the only person bitching here about people selling theirs is the one who didnt buy his.
So you not only got 1, but 2 for free. And 1 of those you sold for pure profit. And you have the balls to gloat about it and pass judgement. What did you sacrifice to get yours? Nothing. What did it cost you to get yours? Nothing. You have lost all credibility in this matter. And I dont agree to disagree. You are wrong in assuming that all the people selling it have bad intentions, while what you did is just fine and dandy, because YOUR intentions were pure....to YOU. How you got your hands on your 2 and what you did with one of them is just as bad if not worse than what most people standing in line are doing with theirs. You just aint man enough to admit it. Quit trying to save face. And quit passing judgement. You obviously aint in no position to do so.
Pretty pathetic.

This is the last I'll say on this subject. Hetz, you won one. You sold it for profit. You then bought another one, thus taking 1 off the market for someone else. You then gave up the chance to buy another one. By my count, if you had just held on to the first one, there would be 2 more happy gamers out there because of you, not just 1. So you took one away from someone. Spin it however you want, you came out ahead, and you cost at least 1 person the shot at having one.
I stood in line to get one, just to give it a try. I hadnt decided while in line whether to keep it or sell it, I just wanted to try and get one. I did. When I was driving home, I didnt feel it was worth keeping, knowing what the market is for them. I came home, posted what happened to me here and went to bed. This morning I woke up and decided I would sell it, to my brother, for cost, so my 2 nephews could enjoy it. I know this will make their Christmas and it makes standing in line worth it to me. Since my bro cant afford it all at once, he is paying me 100 bucks a month for 4 months. At that time, hopefully I wont have to stand in line to get another one if I want it.
I never came here and stated I was going to stand in line for the express intent of selling it for profit. In fact, when I woke up this morning, I was mighty tempted to rip that box open and hook it up. But I just dont see myself using it all that much right now. And after talking to my brother about it, I am doing what I feel is the right thing with it, which was my intention from the start. If he didnt want it, I would have had to think about what I wanted to do with it again. But the moral crisis is over, and my "pure, unadulterated greed" will not be condeming me to hell.....this time. But once again, as my brother put it, Old Uncle Stimpys "stupidity", as in standing in line at 2 in the morning, will pay off again, just not in the way some of you that are so quick to judge others here might have thought.

If you read my posts you will know that it wasnt my intention to go stand in line specifically to get one to sell. I wanted to see If I could score one. Once I did, I decided I didnt want it bad enough at this time to hang on to it. As for selling it, I dont see the problem. People buy things and sell them for profit all the time. I'm sure even you have bought something, had it increase in value and sold it. What makes things valuable is the fact that they are rare or hard to find. This is no different. I didnt knock some kid down to grab it before he did. I didnt grab it out of someones hands. I stood in line and got one. If someone wanted it worse than me, they would have been there before me. I didnt know if they would have 2 or 20 when I got in line. I didnt post here to rub it in anyones face that I scored one and what I am doing with it. Just stating my experience. Oh and before you throw stones.... Yep, that's what I did. I sold my everytenminutes one for over $1,000! Come on. It's not all about the almighty $$. Where was your sage wisdom then? Where was YOUR concern for all your helpless fellow gamers then? Seem pretty hypocritical to me for you to come and preach shit to others. Or do you not have to live up to the expectations you have for others?

I got to BB at 2 a.m. this morning. It was all of 1 degree outside. There were 19 people in line. By 6 the line had swelled to over 50. The BB dudes came out about 7:30 and started to hand out vouchers. They ran out at 34. There was 1 squad there to keep order, but they werent needed, as those that didnt get a voucher really werent there that long and just left after all the vouchers were handed out. The people in line were very cool to each other, no pun intended, and me and this other guy switched off saving each others spot while the other went to warm up in their car. At 8, the doors opened and there was some pushing to get in quickly, more due to the cold I think. I decided not to get any extra accessories or games at this point, just grab the unit and go. I was checked out and on my way home by 8:20. I still havent decided what to do with the unit, but at least I know I did what I set out to do. Most likely, the unit is gonna be sold and I will grab one later after more games have come out for it and they are more readily available. But because I spent most of the morning out in the cold, I think I can justify selling it for enough to get my money back and have enough extra to get the next one for free. Right now, there just isnt enough reason for me to keep it. No game really is grabbing my attention and there does seem to be some issues that need to be worked out with the unit design. I'm just afraid this is gonna end up like the PSP. That was the hottest thing at launch, but once the hype died down, alot of people regretted buying it so quickly. And the support has been pretty bad for the PSP up to this point. I still hardly use my regular XBOX, so I think the smartest thing to do is to capitalize on the hype surrounding this thing right now and see how things play out in the future, after the hype has died down and we see how the game lineup looks.
For those that really want this console and were/are unable to land one, whether or not they want it to keep or to sell, keep trying. After the holiday, I think we all know this thing will be more widely vailable. I personally think MS mishandled this launch and I for one think I'm gonna take advantage of their oversight. Once the hype about this thing not being available dies down, which will be very soon, the resale value will be much, much less. The window of opportunity is closing rapidly on cashing in on this. I'm not willing to wait to see how the game support is for this thing 6 months from now, knowing I could sell it now for a nice profit, and put it in the hands of someone who really wants it now..

I have zero interest in getting an Xbox 360.....
yet I am feeling strangely compelled to go camp tonight.
There is something about having something that others want so bad, yet cant get, that is appealing to me. I dont even know if I scored one if I would keep it or ebay it. Most likely I would sell it and wait till they are more readily available to get one with the extra cash. Will I do it? I dont know. Will I drive by and take a look later. For sure.
This one just feels like the chase would be better than the catch for me. I dont mind camping, done it alot in my time, but I have always wanted what I was camping for. I will want a 360 at some point, it just aint now. It's the lure of doing something that others want to do, but probably wont, that will make me do it.

I don't understand the problem. I ordered 2, yes TWO, on Friday November 18th online. One from WalMart and the other from Circuit City. It took me almost two hours to complete my order on CC's website, but it went through.
The CC 360 showed up November 23rd. The WalMart one showed up yesterday.
How can this launch be described as a debacle if I was able to order TWO of them the Friday before launch? O.K. you win. Sell me the extra for cost and I will agree this launch was hugely successful.

I dont know if this has been brought up, but does anyone have numbers on how many 360s were given away by Pepsi during that promotion? 1 every 10 minutes for how ever long has to add up to alot of units. How is it that a system that was so desperately short at launch was able to hand them out for free? Where is the logic in that? Add in all the other free systems handed out to assorted "celebrities" and such, and it is no wonder the average gamer that was willing to PAY for it is pissed. To me, it is that kinda shit that makes this launch so terrible. Well that's just Marketing really. They get more value from giving those systems away than they do from you buying it. gellar Wow...I dont see how. What good does the publicity do when there is a shortage? What value is there in marketing a system that people cant buy? If anything, I would think the shortage creates negative publicity, not positive. At launch, sure it may be a good thing to have a limited amount. But to not follow up with any for weeks after launch doesnt help sustain the momentum thay had. It stops it. Dead.

I think they can kiss my ass. I have the rest of the internet to find information on that game, and I am not going to give them my credit card to do it. This is true, but it is not just that game. It also includes Doom 3 and Quake 4, and any other M rated title of theirs. Just think of the people who dont really know how to get access to other sites for their info or patches. You buy a game, and if you are having trouble or questions, you go to that games' site. I can just see them doing this now just to access the M rated games on the site, and then in the future doing it for any type of info or support on games.

Dont the suits and politicians have anything better to do and worry about?

I know one thing I'm doing is paying extra into the principal every month. I'd like to know how many people actually do this. I know that everyone thinks it when they first buy a house, but how many actually follow through and stick with it? Not trying to be negative or say it's not possible. It's just that I know I said it and tried, but then the reality of the costs that come with owning a house kicked in, and I found I had not much money left at the end of the month. I am envious of anyone able to do it and reap the benefits. Either way, congrats. Welcome to Debtsville.

Oct 18 I don't understand the ubermachismo bullshit rhetoric of "if she's not your bitch by the end of the night, jerk off and move on." That smacks of insecure men who were sexually molested as children, not guys in successful relationships. I'm welcome to negative opinions, but please, try not to let them be this full of shit. Oct 30 Really, I'm almost to the point of believing that if you don't fuck on the first night, it's just not meant to be. So, would you like to tell us about your childhood? I don't understand the ubermachismo bullshit rhetoric of "if she's not your bitch by the end of the night" At what point did I say this or imply it? What I said was, her saying she was too busy to see you cause she works 30 hours a week is bullshit. Dont kid yourself. Any relationship that is gonna work will include effort, concessions and sacrifices by both parties, if both parties want it. Her reluctance to make time in the near future to spend time with you is either a stall tactic or a game she is playing. You want to wait around and find out which it is, feel free. I think you took my comment about spanking it and moving on too literal. And I think my wife/girlfriend of 16 years would consider our relationship quite succesful. And the fact that I first fucked her while we were both 17 technically means I was molested as a child. You should be so lucky.
