Got around to picking this up today on 360. Haven't played a MK since Ultimate MK3 back on SNES. This has to be the best fighter I've played in many years. Great visuals, fluid game engine, and tons of content. Gonna be putting a lot of time into this one after I get an arcade stick. The 360 controller is TERRIBLE for this type of game.

163  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Space Pirates and Zombies on: May 09, 2011, 09:49:28 PM
Maybe the best game (demo) I've played so far this year. I only wish it was on Steam instead of Impulse.
164  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Dwarfs!? on: May 05, 2011, 01:29:29 PM
Bought.

Great game. While it seems simple at first, the maps quickly become frantic trying to manage 50+ dwarfs attempting to dig themselves to doom. I can seem myself dedicating a lot of time into this one. Great variety of game modes and online leaderboards make it a no-brainer at 9 bucks.

Finished Goldeneye and I'm now starting on Red Steel 2.
167  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Atom Zombie Smasher (from the developer of Flotilla) on: January 25, 2011, 12:41:36 AM
Sucks about the ATI issue. You can roll back your drivers or wait for a fix which should be coming shortly. I went ahead and bought the full version after reading that an activation key will likely be given out for Steam to those that already bought the game from the developer.

It's great. The planning stage really opens up once you start rescuing scientists and researching new techs. Earning gold medals is extremely difficult but I find myself restarting zones to try and acquire them frequently. The zombies usually prevent me from ever doing so. frown

Not sure if it's worth the $15 asking price yet but it's a solid indie game with addictive qualities that should prove to be a fun little time waster.

Just released today along with a demo. I've played through the demo a couple of times and really enjoy it. Not sure if I want to purchase from the developer directly or await it's Steam release but it's a sure purchase.

$20 for Birth By Sleep. Guess I have to bite for that price.
170  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Elemental: War of Magic on: August 26, 2010, 05:44:06 PM
I can't even play the game. I get a white screen upon starting a game with a couple of units visible on screen and then it CTD's.

Regardless of the widely varying quality in games these days, I'm usually at least able to play the actual game. For shame, Stardock.

172  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Never too early - Most Anticipated titles of 2010/2011 on: July 21, 2010, 03:41:10 PM
God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Patapon 3
Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fate
Diablo 3 (if I decide to build a new computer. I pretty much game exclusively on my PSP these days.)
173  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Less than one week til MGS5 and... on: July 07, 2010, 08:03:57 PM
Best MGS of the series. Unbelievable that this is a game on a portable system. I wish more AAA titles were available for the PSP as I've become primarily a hand held only gamer due to time constraints of late.
174  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GTA4 impressions thread on: April 30, 2008, 09:14:24 PM
I've put 10 hours into it so far and I think I'm done with it. Never could get into the GTA games, but the hype bit me pretty hard. I have the game (PS3 version) up on the trading forum if anyone hasn't picked it up yet.

Edit: Decided to keep it. Liking it a bit more now. The story is really starting to pick up.

I played around on the training course last night, and noticed the plinko-like contraption. How do I get a ball in that thing?

Also, how do I do the "special" shots, where the ball dashes around after the ball stops?

If you mean Homing, you have to apply super backspin and hit the flag. Spiral shots are using side spin and hitting the flag. Very tough to do, but completely awesome when you get lucky and actually manage to do it.

I've had a hole in one and albatross, but they rolled in the hole.

The courses are really nice though. They certainly held out intentionally to make more money off DLC, but what can ya do, that's typical for the industry these days.

I'm absolutely loving the game so far. Unlocked a few club sets, some items for your lobby character, and an additional golfer to play as (you only have two at the start.) Online is gonna be my fix for quite awhile I imagine, but there is no one on currently.

No, it's the US version. I played it with the uncensored patch though, so it's not a problem if you are willing to download a roughly 500 meg file.

193  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: Xbox 360 w/ Bioshock for sale. $260! on: September 04, 2007, 05:58:47 PM
Bump for price drop. This is low as I can go. I'd much rather it sell it on here than Ebay or Craig's List, so that's my reasoning for the lowering.

Can't really beat it for that price, eh?

Hmm, why quitting gaming? Especially after Bioshock?

I'm just burnt out. Got into working out in the gym and trying new hobbies. Don't really have the time for gaming anymore. Bioshock was a cool game and all, but I couldn't help but feel I could be doing something more constructive while playing it.

Getting older, priorities changing, and all that hooplah 'ya know.

Still have the system sitting here, had a few nibbles, but no one has taken it off my hands yet. I think the price is quite fair, but I guess a lot of you guys on here that are interested in console gaming most likely already have one. Gonna give it another week on here and I'll drop another ten dollars to $290 shipped. Craigs list or Ebay after that I suppose.

Sorry, Zarkon, I don't want a Wii. The reason I'm selling the system is because I'm done with video games, so no trades please.

Premium model. 2006 manufacturing date. I've only had it for a week to play Bioshock and now I'm done with it, so if you were looking to buy one before all the great games hit this fall, here is your chance.

I'll also throw in a set of MS VGA cables. $300 shipped.

The soundtrack does only have 3 tracks, but they total 45 minutes in length.

Any questions I can answer without spoiling anything for anyone?

Does a Big Daddy ever shoot his drill out into an enemy and pump him full of air until he explodes?

Glad to hear you're enjoying it.  I'm debating back and forth over whether to buy it at release and play it on my SDTV, or to impatiently wait a few months to enjoy it on a HDTV.  If I wait to play it in HD, I might not finish it in time for Mass Effect and Rock Band.  Decisions decisions.

It still looks good in SD. Get it.

It's not. There is another screen from the same guy that shows him installing it.
