601  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / New PSP exploit to be released tomorrow morning! on: June 22, 2005, 03:27:29 PM
I am having trouble getting this to work.  I have the 1.50 firmware and when I select the emulator or program to work it shows the psp boot screen then goes black then sends me back to the psp menu screen.

Any help?
602  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Win98 Bootup Problem on: June 16, 2005, 08:19:41 PM
I have a Win98 machine that if I have it up and running and do a shutdown or reboot it gets windows protection errors when it tries to boot
to Windows.  I have to manually turn off the power supply, wait for about 5 seconds and then it will boot up to win98, I have no problems when it is up just when I try and reboot.

Any ideas?
603  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Kirby Canvas Impressions on: June 14, 2005, 07:02:55 PM
I just bought the game and played the tutorial and the first level.  Neat.

It is different than any other game so far no buttons or pad just the stylus.

The graphics are clear and crisp and the gameplay fresh.   Hopefully this will last longer than a day.

I should have other comments later.
604  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / US v.1.50 PSP exploit to be released tomorrow morning? on: June 14, 2005, 06:57:18 PM
That will allow you to run emulators on the PSP.
605  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / GTA San Andreas on: June 11, 2005, 05:24:26 AM
What joypads are you using I want an analog joystick because just using the mouse and keyboard is a little trickey.
606  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Impressions: WarioWare Twisted! on: June 02, 2005, 02:40:15 AM
I love this game and it is very challenging I am on the last stage and I can only complete about 6 challenges.  I am very happy with this game.
607  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee [psp] on: May 31, 2005, 02:09:39 AM
On your tee shot push down on the dpad and you will throw grass into the air and it will blow in the direction and force of the wind.  This acutally makes more sense than giving you just a number.

Can you tell me when you are outside the mph of the wind?????
608  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee [psp] on: May 10, 2005, 02:28:30 AM
I've been playing for quite awhile and am really enjoying the game.  I finally have 3 courses open which I am very proud of.  The only gripe I have is that you can't turn off your caddie voices and I am tired of hearing "Good Shot", which is said when you hit the ball well.
609  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Untold Legends Impressions on: April 21, 2005, 02:58:53 AM
I didn't pick this game up initially(because of reviews), but I finally talked a friend of mine to pick up a PSP and this was his first game and he loved it.  So for multiplay I bought it too

So far it is pretty good.  The sound effects are awesome, count how many footstep sounds there are.  The graphics are pretty good too.  I have zoomed in on the graphics but I can't play that way because it makes me dizzy if they only had a setting in between.

Wasn't sure about loading times but they are okay a little long but not too bad.  This is a great game to just pick up and play so I am really enjoying it.

Are the load times for Tiger woods as long as this one?
610  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Metal Gear Ac!d opinions/impressions? on: April 06, 2005, 03:59:39 PM
I really like Acid as well.  MGS3 was hard for me I liked the story but just couldn't get into the gameplay.

I was looking for a good card based game and this is it.  Strategy, collecting, dying, and replayability just a great game.

You can speed up the other players turns by pressing the triangle button but be carefull if you hold it down too long you will pass your turn up.
611  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Res Evil 4 need help on: March 23, 2005, 08:27:51 PM
yes you must climb on his back or it will take forever.
612  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Are Sudeki and Yager good bargain games? on: January 31, 2005, 04:46:07 PM
I enjoyed sudeki I bought it after it went to around $15.

The action is great and the graphics as well.  I would recommed it.
613  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Resident Evil 4 Impressions on: January 19, 2005, 10:57:36 PM
Just beat the game.

What a great game I had a blast playing it.  From the graphics to the sound to the everything the game is one of the best I have played and actually finished.

Good luck to everyone and have a good time.
614  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / GCN Deals? on: January 18, 2005, 10:19:15 PM
The reason only 1% of the component cable was used was because you had to order it only from nintendo and not get it at the store.

I don't know why they did that.  I want one but $30 is quite high.
615  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / 'enemy hordes' syndrome (rant/whine)... on: January 17, 2005, 01:31:38 PM
I agree I get tired of fighting the hordes.  I will say this about Resident Evil 4 there were a couple of times where I thought there would be alot more enemies but they stopped at the right level.

I hope developers can come up with different puzzles than crates, blocks and door keys.

Okay, I appear to be stuck.  SPOILERS FOLLOW:

I am about 19 hours in and have come across a security door that requires both Ashley and Leon to push down on levers on either side of the door to open it.  We try and are told this is some kind of special security door.  Now what?  I have roamed all over that section and have not found anything that will help.  Anyone know what I do next?

***SPOILER****
There are lights above the door just look pay attention to them and do what was in the other post.
617  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / RE4 - a question on: January 15, 2005, 10:03:27 PM
Remember you can combine the stones and other treasures you find to make even more money.  One item I combined with 3 others and got 25000.
618  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Shadow Hearts Covenant - VERY Impressed on: January 14, 2005, 08:09:05 PM
I am trying to play the first shadow hearts before I play Covenant but I'm not sure I can hold off much longer.  Just how much better is Convenant vs the first game?
619  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Resident Evil 4 Impressions on: January 14, 2005, 08:07:41 PM
The combat is awesome and dynamic.

I had one of the sickle guys throw one at me.  In the air I shot it with my revolver and it went and hit him.

Also a challenge is the weapon system.  Do you upgrade or get a new one?  It is a hard decision and not always easy to make.  I am also not sure about how many weapons to have.  The more the weapons the less ammo you get for each, because the ammo that you find is usually based on what weapons you have.

I still haven't been able to constantly kick a downed enemy.
I know practice makes perfect but in this case practice makes death,  always mine.
620  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Resident Evil 4 Impressions on: January 13, 2005, 02:30:10 PM
I actually like the controls.  It takes a little time to get used to them , but if you really break down what this game is the controls fit it perfectly.

If you could move really fast and have a recticle that gave perfect aim then you would have a fps shooter.  You have to approach the game with that attitude and hopefully you will find the game refreshing.  I just keep forgetting the quick turn around move, that should be used a lot.

Hint:
When they are on the ground you have to shoot them in the head about 3 times with the pistol before they die.

I am having a blast with the game too bad I have to work today.
621  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Resident Evil 4 Impressions on: January 13, 2005, 02:13:33 AM
Been playing for about 2.5 hours and the game is awesome.

Graphics good. Sound good. Story good. Action good. Blood great.

The context button stuff is great but I am having a problem when you
shoot a guy in the knee how close do you get before you can kick him.
Usually I hit him in the knee run close to him he recovers then it's me down and out.

The merchant has probably the best voice in the game.  Even though he doesn't say much it is pretty cool to hear him talk.   What will you buuuuy.

Spoiler(maybe not)...
Any one else creeped out by the guys with the chainsaw.  I so did not
want them to get me.  He was right behind me and I kept running around a table, good thing I didn't have slippery socks on or it would be deja vu.
622  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Outlaw Golf 2 on: December 20, 2004, 07:17:44 PM
I picked this up today but noticed that it is not 480p.  I have a projector that has different inputs for progressive and non-progressive.  I bought
INDY car racer that had 480 not checked and can't play it unless I change
the cable on my xbox, so I hope that this game will not do the same.
623  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Metal Gear Solid 3 Impressions (No Spoilers) on: December 15, 2004, 04:55:59 PM
This game is really hard for me I finished MG2 but this one is just hard.
I love the story and want to play but the difficulty I just cant manage.
I even tried the easy setting and still no luck.

Any suggs.  I've played about 3 hours.
624  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [gba] Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on: December 14, 2004, 02:04:20 AM
I played it and didn't like it.  As stated before I was just hitting the A button.  When I tried to select my cards I had to run around the enemies which was hard to do.  You are supposed to have your deck set before
you go in(the order you want them to appear)  I don't think it is random cards coming out either.  Sometimes when you kill an enemy he drops a
card and you have to pick it up to use it.

Just too much running around for me, there was no time for strategy.
625  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ESPN Football - no more?!?!? on: December 13, 2004, 11:19:09 PM
This shouldn't be legal isn't this a monopoly.  This is just wrong for any company.
626  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nindendo Ds : Brings GBA Games To Life on: December 13, 2004, 01:20:32 PM
It would be hard for me to go back and play on my sp.  I may not be a graphic freak but the difference is amazing.
627  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nindendo Ds : Brings GBA Games To Life on: December 08, 2004, 04:28:04 AM
I just bought the Nintendo DS and like it alot.  There may not be many games out there yet but that is not a problem because the Nindendo DS
makes the current GBA games look spectacular.

I started out with the original GBA that had no light and couldn't see anything so it rarely got played.  Then I bought GBA Sp(front light) and what a difference I could see what was going on so I thought, cool I can finally play my GBA games.

But whoooooahhhhh  a backlight, the DS has a backlight, that along with a little better res and my gba games never looked better.  The colors are so colorful and sharp it is just great.  Metroid Fusion is a prime example(no pun intended),  the colors in that game were okay now they are awesome.

So those they might be wary of the few games that the DS has right now need not worry your old(and new) Gba games look so much better you will never play the GBA SP again.
628  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / anyone getting Prince of Persia - Warrior Within? on: December 03, 2004, 02:33:57 AM
Well I went and bought the xbox version and haven't had any audio problems yet.  I rented the ps2 version and the xbox looks much better and it seems to play harder on the normal setting.

I've read that this is an easy game but it is very hard on the normal level
I am going to try hard after a while.
629  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / anyone getting Prince of Persia - Warrior Within? on: December 02, 2004, 04:12:36 PM
I rented this last night and I really like it.

It took me about 4 tries to beat the lady boss in the tutorial but I finally
conquered her.  I like the battles alot more now.  More enemies have
counter attacks to certain moves you perform, so you have to remember
which ones not to do to certain monsters.

I actually like the music and the grittier tone it get's me pumped up.

I saw some small graphical glitches(flickering textures) on the ps2 version.

I am going to buy it but not sure which version to buy.  It looks like the
gamecube version is the best, so maybe wavebird here I come.
630  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Baiten Kaitos impressions? on: November 18, 2004, 07:50:26 PM
I noticed the sound problem too.  I then selected surround from the menu
and I think it went away.  I had to play with headphones when I changed it.

You have to read quite abit anyway so if you turn them off no big thing.
631  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Baiten Kaitos impressions? on: November 18, 2004, 04:40:52 PM
Yes you can turn off the voices you can also turn off the menu during battles.  The menu comes up to show you how well your attacks worked.
It goes away quickly but I may turn it off one I get accustomed to it.

Also there are combo moves but you have to experiment to figure them out.  I think that it lists the combos after you have completed them which is good.  You start out with 20 cards in your battle deck but after 10 fights
I am upto 25 cards.
632  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Baiten Kaitos impressions? on: November 18, 2004, 01:50:50 PM
Picked it up yesterday and played for about an hour.

The graphics are very nice.  Very colorful and full of animation.

The combat is pretty good, but will get a lot better later when you can use more cards.  At the first you can only use 2 cards per round and that is out of three choices.  The spells and attacks during combat are very nice to watch.  I have made a mistake and actually healed the enemy a couple of times instead of me.

The voice acting is kinda bad like in the reviews.  Another anoyance is when you are in the world map and you talk to someone important(involving voice action) the screen goes black then it shows the conv. then it goes black again to continue adventuring.  Nothing major.

Overall it looks promising. Currently  I am waiting for my pictures of the monsters I've battled to develop so I can sell them and get money.
633  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Tips on using the Datel USB "MAX Drive" for PS2? on: November 08, 2004, 11:44:22 PM
Yes I bought it and have used it quite a bit.  You can mess up your ps2 memory card but it can be easily fixed.

You can format your ps2 card by pressing the square button when you load up the max drive software.

If you simply move the save from your usb drive to the card  instead of uncrushing them it will cause problems.  So remember to always uncrush to your memory card.

Other than that problem it is very easy to use.  It saved me from having to buy more memory cards and I can use the usb drive for other things as well.
