601  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Weekend Recap 2/Oct/06 on: October 02, 2006, 10:46:51 PM
Played about 8 hours of Okami.

Played about 8 hours of God of War and beat it finally.  That is one awesome game.

Played 4 hours of Saints Row.  I really like this game but it is getting hard.

Played 1 hour of Guitar Hero 2 demo.

Good weekend of gaming.
602  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Weekend Recap: What'd You Play? 25/Sep/06 on: September 25, 2006, 03:20:30 PM
Played about 10 hours of Okami and about 6 hours of Saints Row.  Then for some reason late last night I put in about 30 min on Zelda Ocarina of Time and an hour of Metroid Prime(GC).

I just got a new HDTV so had to try those last 2 out.

603  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Okami impressions on: September 21, 2006, 02:30:44 PM
Played for about an hour and a half and I am really enjoying the game.

The graphics do look good on a widescreen HDTV. The art style is really impressive and the colors really stand out.

There are 2 camera angles one close up and one far away.  The close up camera is okay but I found that when I used it I was weaving alot as I was running, if you hit the L1 button the camera backs out and it made running long distances easier.  You manually control the camera as well and I have had no other problems with it so far.

The combat so far isn't too deep and not really that hard but it is still good.  It's fun to knock them in the air then slash them with your brush and watch the body be split in half then fall to the ground.  Controling the brush is very easy and I hope they use it alot for the puzzles because there are some neat things that can be done with it.

The only gripe I have is the "talking" of the characters.  They use gibberish that is quite annoying, I wish they had just the text.  It isn't that much of a distraction but I just don't care for it.    The dialog is well written and funny(ie. furball).

604  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Anybody get Madden on the PSP? on: August 25, 2006, 08:58:33 PM
I went to CC today and picked up the 360 version then just as I was about to pay I got the PSP version as well.  The 360 version locked up after playing about 10 minutes, arghhhhhh, same thing with NCAA so my 360 is off to get fixed.  I then went to work with the PSP version unopened and debating.

Well after 30 min couldn't help myself and opened the PSP version and was pleasantly surprised.

Graphics -
Awesome, they are better than PS2 to me, crisp and clear.

Presentation -
Not sure about last year but it is okay for me.  There are replays after big plays and the atomosphere is there.  The commentary isn't that bad but I disabled just because.  The menu music is annoying so I turned that off as well, other than that the sound is good.  It is fast loading and plays smoothly so no gripes there.

Minigames -
There are a ton of mini games.  END2END is a blast to play.

So far I only have 1 gripe and that is the camera.  On 3 of the camera angles it just doesn't zoom out enough to see all of your receivers.  On the over the top cam it is good but the people are a too small.
You can use the other 3 to see the receivers if you do this.  When you goto the line press the Right trigger and that will zoom out the camera.  You can't hike the ball until you let it go but if you hike it right after you let go it will stay at the zoomed level.

Overall this is a good purchase.  I would like to try out the wifi later but the single player plays very well and I am happy with my purchase especially since CC has it for 28.
605  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XBLA Texas Hold 'Em free for download right now!! on: August 24, 2006, 02:34:10 PM
This game is very addicting, especially if you get a good crowd. I think I played for around 4 1/2 hours last night. I might have played a little more but my internet connection went down, sorry about that wonderpug, it just dropped.

When I setup the game I forgot to make the seats for private use.  We did get a lot of friends to join but we also got alot of random people and they were all great.  No one was going all-in all the time and the chatting was fun, I have to get me some food stamps though(that guy was something else).

Turn off the music it gets old fast.
You can use the left and right triggers when you bet to increase/decrease the bet by $10 increments.
Be prepared to wait if Stankydanktoker is playing he will take forever just to check.
Talk, talk, talk.  This makes playing poker on 360 better much then on PC.

I should be on tonight..  Do we want to setup a tournament this time or just do a standard game?
606  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XBLA Texas Hold 'Em free for download right now!! on: August 24, 2006, 03:42:05 AM
Had a wonderful time playing with Lockdown and all the other guys.  I can attest and actually say that Lockdown is telling the truth.  He dominated Soulchilde it was almost too bad to watch.

Heh, anyway, it is fun when you have people to talk to. It is an easy and relaxing game that is free, what more could you ask for.

Maybe setup some kind of GT tournament.  Anyone Insterested????

607  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XBLA Texas Hold 'Em free for download right now!! on: August 23, 2006, 10:36:24 PM
What time do we want to play tonite???
608  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XBLA Texas Hold 'Em free for download right now!! on: August 23, 2006, 06:19:02 PM
Played the game at lunch and it is very good.  I have already lost 8000 playing online.  Sorry full house.

We need to get a GT table going tonite.....
609  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Kirby Canvas Impressions on: July 05, 2006, 07:14:45 PM
I am still playing this game.  It is one of the best games on the DS.  The levels are really unique and can be difficult.  There is one level where it is dark and there are lamps that you have to touch in order to show the screen.  Just a lot of neat stuff packed into that game.

Pick it up today.
610  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Target and Walmart Break DS Lite Street Date on: May 31, 2006, 04:42:18 PM
Just picked it up from the Target in LittleRock,AR.  The picture is so much better.  I hadn't really been playing NSMB to much in anticipation and I am glad I waited.  The colors are awesome.
611  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Table Tennis Impressions on: May 24, 2006, 01:23:33 PM
Yes great game.  I played about 5 games online, won 2 and had very good matches.

I just have a problem of moving my guy when I am trying to place the ball. If you move the left analog before pressing the right analog you will be moving your guy and that constantly happens to me I guess I am getting too excited.

Once you get a rally started the music starts kicking in and does that make you nervous.
612  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / New Super Mario Bros. on: May 19, 2006, 06:37:22 PM
This game is great, just simple basic gameplay.  I like the visuals and the sound and for me it is challenging.  I would definatley suggest this game.
613  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Sony Press Conference on: May 09, 2006, 01:59:47 AM
It has the range of motion but it will be a little clunky can you imagine trying to use that like a sword or a fishing pole, a little awkward.

An extra 40 gigs = $100 more?  I had dinner during that part of the presentation, were they offering anything more or something?

No just the extra hard drive space.  That was the first thing I thought 100 for 40 gigs what kind of hard drive is this?
615  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Lost Magic (DS) on: May 01, 2006, 03:51:39 PM
I bought it when it came out and it is tough.  I died on the third map about 4 times.  The concept is neat but it is just too hard.
616  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Tiger Woods demo (360) on: April 19, 2006, 01:24:27 PM
I have played the demo about 5 times and have not had any problems at all.  It plays fine.  Maybe your HD is fragmented.
617  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / The best new game that nobody here is talking about.... on: March 30, 2006, 03:26:42 PM
I picked up Daxter first then Syphon Filter.

I am playing more SP now.  The cut scenes are awesome and the gameplay really good as well.  A top notch game.
618  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Impressions on: March 24, 2006, 08:09:42 PM
I found a night-eye ring and that is awesome.   I ran out of torch's and found that ring now I don't quite need the torch's.  I love the blue tint effect it looks awesome in dungeons.

I am wearing 2 rings now I wonder how many you can wear at one time?
619  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Impressions on: March 21, 2006, 08:55:22 PM
Well took off a half day today to play the game and man has time flown by. It took about an hour in the first dungeon then I went to another dungeon and it took an hour and there were many types of enemies in the dungeon and they put up quite a fight.

I am really impressed the visuals are good not the best but are very good.  I like the combat as well it feels alot better than morrowind.

This game is going to suck all my time away....

Good gaming... Go and pick this up.
620  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [PSP] Daxter! on: March 15, 2006, 08:07:44 PM
Just picked up Daxter and tried it out for about 10 minutes.

The graphics are just awesome and the animations are great as well.
There are really no load times, when you talk to someone it takes about
2 secs for it to load.

The best part so far for me is the sound.  It is one of the best sounding handheld games.  The sound effects are really awesome from the wind blowing to Daxters footsteps. and the voice acting really draws you in.

I thought about syphon filter and may pick it up later.  I am playing GRAW so I didn't feel like another shooter.

Go Daxter.

622  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Pursuit Force sleep mode? on: March 14, 2006, 07:51:18 PM
You can only go into sleep mode right before the mission starts when it says press start to start mission or when you are in a mission you can''t sleep while in the menus.
623  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Guitar Hero question... on: March 14, 2006, 03:43:00 PM
I do enjoy it more because I am a guitarist but anybody can get into this game.

I recently started playing with headphones and it really changes the game for me.  I really do feel like I am playing.  If you play it without headphones you hear the click of the strum bar but with headphones that goes away and gives you more of a guitar like feeling.

Get this game,  they are going to keep releasing more games so your investment in a controller will be worthwhile.
624  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Impressions Thread on: March 09, 2006, 03:03:24 PM
The multilplayer last night was awesome had a really great time, it just stunk that we couldn't get more than 4-5 at a time.  If we set respawns to 1 or 2 that would really make us use teamwork alot more, but we do need the time to get used to it.  Being able to see what the other teammates was looking at is awesome it adds so much to the game.

After multi I tried a little single player and I died like crazy.  I have a hard time finding out where to go and my teammates died easily as well.  It will definately take some time to get used to it.

627  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [360] Fight Night 3 impressions on: February 22, 2006, 03:14:24 PM
I've played about 3 cpu and about 6 online fights.
I have noticed lag on about 2 of the fights but it was only for
about 10 to 15 sec long then back to normal.

Vs the cpu there is a difference between medium and hard the
boxers are more aggressive and do fight better.

Online is where it is at though.  I've had about 4 knockdowns and one
decision.  My last knockdown came in the last round which I really
needed.  There are not a lot of haymakers landed which is good and
it is really hard to flash ko as well.

I am enjoying this game.

Picked it up and lunch.

Tried medium and hard and they are different. Duran was more aggressive in hard mode than on medium.  I also just stood there and
Duran really put it on me.

632  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I just finished Resident Evil 4 (NGC) - No Spoilers on: February 07, 2006, 07:31:09 PM
I have finished both Eternity and Resident 4 they are both good games.

I hadn't finished a game in a while and I had a day off so I decided that I was going to finish a game so I started and finished that game in one nine hour gaming session.

Resident Evil 4 took me about 4 days but that game is superb.

Good Luck.

Big week for Guitar Hero fans.

You can finally get your second guitar this Tuesday.  I can't wait.

I had my nephew and his friend over and they loved that game so I am excited I will finally be able to multiplay.  I had actually thought of buying 2 copies of the game but didn't have that much extra to spend.

Whose with me=========== biggrin
