Ok, I admit that I have a blind spot when it comes to comics, but when I see a quote like this:
"Timeless and modern, classic and contemporary, but younger, brasher and more brooding, this is Superman. The New Man of Tomorrow."
I'm thinking it is time for TPTB to reread Kingdom Come.

I didn't mean that in the "it'll be really popular" way, I meant it in the "everybody will be leaving it for the new hot social bullshit" way, just like they left Myspace for Facebook and they're leaving Facebook for Google+.
You think it's cool now because your parents don't have an account there, but #1, people our age are parents, and #2 your parents will go where ever the stupid Oprah and evening news says they should and if the migration really starts it will eventually trickle down to them.
Rapidly getting top the point where people our age are the GRANDparents. Not quite yet, but getting there.

As far as Superman goes; if the last, or only, time I saw Krypton blow was in Superman, that would be fine. Before that, there was the Adventures of Superman, afterwords, the animated shows, and most recently, Smallville. If covering some of that background is needed to say give Zod some depth, issues with the El family, rival for Lara, bestest friends with Kal's dad before the big schism, etc., sure, I'd love to see that kind of stuff on Krypton before the blowup. If the elder Kents are in the movie because Clark needs something, or visits, or wants some parent advice, I'm good with that too. My thing (and it is just mine) is that I don't mind the characters appearing for whatever the story is, I just am not enthused about seeing the origin of Superman again. Edited to say on the tangent, I disagree that Superman- the movie was the first time superheroes were treated with respect. IMO, the 1960s Green Hornet tried but was hamstrung by the campy Batman expectations. In the 1950s, the Adventures of Superman was also a quality show. I put George Reeves performance as Clark over Chris Reeves as far as that character interpretation goes. The George R.'s Clark never appeared to be as the nebbish as the 1978 portrayal and looked to me to be more of a "real" person. disclaimer - I think that Batman (1966) and Superman (1978) are fine shows/movies and do not mean to imply otherwise. heck, I like Brave and the Bold, too. Superman III, Superman IV, Superman Returns, and Batman after Returns and before Begins. NEVER HAPPENED.

And back to our Captain... .... Super leap! Super leap II! Throws his mighty shield. Seems like a good wallpaper idea... The Shield changed in the last two pics. Looks like the first one had the original shield-shaped shield, and the sceond one the more modern round one.

I saw Jor-El and Lara are cast. Unless the reviews are great, I am OUT. This all indicates ORIGIN to me, and I do NOT want to see Jor-El fight with the Council AGAIN, Krypton explode AGAIN, young Clark being trained by Ma and PA Kent AGAIN. If there is someone on the planet who doesn't know that part, please send them a flyer.
I have no trouble with a flashback or exposition, but and hr+ of that origin will drive me crazy.
If done right, it'll be awesome. Just look at Batman Begins. Well maybe not - Batman Begins is about, well, the goddamn Batman. To be fair, the other Batman movies really didn't cover origin to the extent of the Superman movies. Flashbacks, snipits, dream sequences. Batman Begins was the only one. that's one reason I liked the 1989 Burton/Keaton movie. Batman was there, the police didn't like it, but aside from a 2 minuite flashback of Jack shooting, the movie figured I knew why Bruce Wayne dressed up.

Good flick..lots of fun.
It seems that, after taking in the scene past the credits, Captain America will easily fill the last set up necessary for The Avengers.

I'll have to catch this one, I didn't realize that it was out. IMO, "World enough and Time" is still the best episode. The others are worth watching though.

I have such a love for the Michael York,Oliver Reed Three and Four Musketeers that i will probably give this a miss, just like i did with Charlie Sheen and Kiefer Sutherlands version
I'm with you on the Michael York version from the 70s. I did see the Sheen/Sutherland version, but I barely recall it I can't even remember who played de Rochforte or Constance in that remake. I can reel off almost the entire cast from the 70s edition. This +10. I've got to get that DVD two pack. What a cast. Look it up on IMDB if you haven't seen them.

Aside from the initial amount they give, I haven't spent any crowns. Personally, I wait until they have a 1 year for $59.99 sale, then jump on. Right now I am on fro six months, when there runs out, I will garden, pet pavilion, and random encountrs until I see a good subscription sale.

Your primary school let's you take advantage of the power pips and certain quest spells. You can train in multiple schools past that, but each school requires that you start with lower level spells then progress up. In other words, if you want have good balance spells, you will have to spend training points on the low levels. If you want that and storm, you'll wind up with lots of low cards. Your primary school is free to train, the rest cost points. Grainy points are given after certain levels and are limited.
storm has great spells and you can enhance your hit points and probability to hit with equipment.

PairIng up will let you get past about anything. I don't think the school matters for that. I think a life or death second school would be good for myth. My wife says that balance is the way to go for a second on myth. Her second character was myth so I would believe her. She originally used storm/life.
What school do you plan to use?
For me, my ice/storm/moon has trouble soloing in the dungeons. My death has had trouble with ONE battle (that I still can't do at lvl 42)

We are assuming that this series will end with the arrival of Spartacus. Is there someplace that said that? It could be that there will be room in between this prequel and season 1 for another story.

I don't have a 360' but we alternate between the PS3 and Wii for Netflix depending on Which one happens to be up. no complaints with either format as far as streaming. especially true of T V shoes when we are not expecting great sound anyway

Not much goin on today, so i just thought i'd throw this up........
To all the kids who survived the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable or satellite TV, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms! A lot of us didn't have air-conditioning in our homes until the 70's, but
I don't know about you guys, ut I had Odyssee, HBO if I played with the fine tuning, Super 8 versions of movies (including some pr0n), cassets, 8-track, and a transistor radio. I remember the "Buckle up for safety"ads along with the anti-smoking ones. maybe the 70's part should be dropped.

I have EA Active for the Wii. the Wiimote is only used for a few activities. most of the time I leave it on the couch and hit the "A" button while the load screen is up to avoid the "lost communication" message.
I assume, but don't know, that the PS3 version would be similar in making sure the communications stay on between the bands and the receiver.
I am waiting for an NFL version without the bands since I really don't want to have two sets laying around.
FWIW, I have been using it sin e Christmas and am doing the card kickstart.

since Babylon 5 was mentioned, Deep Space 9.
off the wall, but very funny: Jeeves and Wooster. Also, Black Adder
I've enjoyed seasons 1- 6 of Scrubs
Smallville took some endurance, but the first couple seasons of Lois and Clark were good.
the Flash
Batman:TAS and Justice League

I saw this last night. Very enjoyable, it is a Comedy-Action movie. The comedy comes from the interaction between Seth Rogan and Jay Chao. Cameron Diaz's character is essential and not used much at the same time.
THere was a small bit of the Hornet Theme from the 60's in the movie (about 5 secs). Generally, there is an irony in that in the 1960's Batman was the comedy and the Green Hornet was the more serious. In 2010, Batman is deadly dark and the Green Hornet is lighter.

Since I lost the subscription, I have been pet aging and gardening. gardening is surprisingly fun and profitable. I might finish that last crafting task with the mandrakes I get from the boom shrooms. who besides the guy in golem court is training/selling garden seeds, spells, etc.?

watched it; enjoyed it. I like that it is outside the continuity (Earth -16? Why not?). it took a while to get used to the idea that Dick Greyson is Robin and Walley West is Kid Flash. So far that has not been significant.

Is there a way to have multiple bands in RB3? I can't see an option for it.
One thing someone mentioned as being not in the game that I definitely heard last night was the crowd singing along. It's a little more subtle now, but it definitely happened. I heard it with Wanted Dead or Alive. Might it be part of the older track?

Celestia is open and haven't gone there yet. I have been GM Ice on the Halloween quests though. An unmentioned update that is througing off my game: Changes to the Minion AI.
Maybe it's just the Ice minion BUT, part of my strategy has been to use my Ice Minion because I knew that "he" would pass, cast fire elf, pass.. if fizzle then cast Storm Shark, if HP low, then cast Ghoul. Knowing the route, I would use the ice minion when faced with ice school foes. Now in the Halloween tower, facing and ice foe, I summon the Ice Minion for back up. Pass, then ICE BATS? Then an ICE TIGER? Then and ICE SHARK? Ok it makes sense to cast Ice spells, but it has messed up my rhythm.
Anyone else notice this change?
