Played silent, but the dance moves were groovy.  (I miss that word "groovy")

The Selena Gomez quest is open.  Short and fun to see the new environment.  I took my Ice GM and completed it in 15-25 mins.

Oh, is the Resident Evil 5 -> Move patch already available?  I'd assumed that was still in the works just like the Heavy Rain patch.

I'd love to hear more impressions of RE5.  I thought the Wii version of RE4 was the definitive one thanks to the incredibly intuitive controls, and I'd love see it again in high-definition.

-Autistic Angel

What AA said.  My wife got into RE because of the Wii and the reason we have a PS3 at all is because of RE5.  A couple of questions:
If I jump on the Move, what do I need?  I'm guessing the starter pack with the camera since I have nothing along that way for the PS3
Has there been any proble switching out controllers on the two USB ports?  Between the regular controller, Rock Band, and now this, I am using one USB hub and contemplating another.
If anyone has a Wii and PS3; any conflicts with "stuff" packed around the TV?

SOLD!

A:  I might be able to play it, and might be is good enough for me. I'll try the Wiimote idea, for sure.
B:  The youngest of the regular visitors is now 13 or 14, and his mom won't let him play games like HoD... also, I'm in the age group that "age-appropriate" for most of my friends could mean that they may be too old to appreciate zombie-killing games, lmao.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear that your friends have gotten so old.  I loved it and thought to REALLY have fun with it, One should be able to remember Superfly and Blacula first runs.  That's just me though.  ninja

206  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] Sandman the series? on: September 05, 2010, 03:20:53 AM
I'll agree that long Sopranos type tv series is the only way to go with Sandman, but I just can't see it working without:

1) Lots of CGI
2) Lots of violence
3) Being anywhere but a cable station that will go R, like HBO or SHO

actually, the pacing and nerd factor, I really can't see it working outside of the written media (comics and short stories)

Now, how about a Calvin and Hobbs sitcom with a CGI tiger?

Try watching the dirctor's cut.  It's been a while, but I remember thinking it made a much better movie.

As a lot of you know, I'mq the rare person who likes the Wii waggle over the PS3 controllers.  I had no intention to get the move, but with the reviews and the hope of RE 5 with Wii RE 4- like controls, I just KNOW it will wind up in the house.

Now I'll have to find out what LucasArts will do with Force Unleashed 2 on the PS3.  that's another one I preferred the Wii version.

Lots of good memories inn this thread.  My favorite is still going to be Wizardry 6/7/8.  Part of the reason is that I started Wizardry 1 back in the day on my Apple ][, transferred those characters throughout the series and into Tales of the Unknown-The Bard's Tale, and to this day name my priest/mages Centonus.

There seems to be a special quest for lvl 50 characters in Wizard City.  Talk to Pvt Mouldoon in old Town.  He'll ask you about Lt. Culpepper.  I can't get past the first level of the battle.  my wife made it past the first, not the second.

If you've done that one on Colossus Blvd, let me know how it went.

I think they just have a teaser open, not the entire world, don't they? I thought it was just an intro quest or something.

I'm working my way through dragonspyre now after a long hiatus. Level 47 Necro. Once you play Death you'll never go back! slywink

Maybe it is.. I'm working through Dragonspyre as well, so I can't get there yet.

BTW my new character is a Necro, I'm thinking Fire for secondary. thoughts?  I hit a great combo last time Ice/Storm.

229  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wizard101 anyone? on: July 26, 2010, 11:05:03 AM
The Pet area has 4 mini games to improve your pet; a hatchery to create pet combos; and the derby.

Completing each minigame (A maze run, shooting out of a cannon, a dance game much like SIMON, and a ""catch the food as it falls game) gains you points and stat increases.  The pets now can "age" through experience points.  When a pet is "adult" and the next one, it can be "hatched", combined with a second pet to mix the attributes.  Pets now have a rarity rating.  My Ice Pet provides me with a spell card.  The derby is a race against other players. aside from bragging rights, I don't know the point.  I don't do PvP in the arena either.

i would love for them to remake the 'space seed' episode for the second of the reboot movies

i for one,was only familiar with the Star Trek movies, and not so much the original series,so i never knew the back story of Khan and Kirk(apart from what came to light in 'Wrath of Khan'),it would be great to see this story on the big screen with the reboot cast

it would be quite cool it being the second in the reboot movies as well,to go along with the outcome in the second of the older movies  icon_wink

Please no. I hope not. They've stated that it's an alternate timeline, so then they should use that opportunity to tell stories that haven't already been told. Otherwise, you have a confused movie, wanting to be in an alternate timeline while original events still happen, and it seems like a crutch to be re-using things. If you want to see the Space Seed events, watch the episode.  They should tell stories that would have continued the series in a fourth season, or something to that effect. J.J Abrams wants an alternate timeline? He should go all out, not pussy out by recycling things, because by doing that, all he's showing is that he doesn't have enough creativity to carry the movies forward.

+1 for Rumpy.  Let a writer tell a new story.  The old ones still exist.  I don't want the Spiderman reboot to be an origin movie either.  ANd G-d help us, NO MORE BABY FROM THE EXPLODING PLANET part of the movies... we ALL know that one!

#15. Most of the original cast returned for the computer adventure "The Secret of Vulcan Fury". It included the last performance of DeForrest Kelly as Leonard McCoy.  Those lines were re-recorded.  I still want to try that game.

15!  I think it didn't do as well as Batman back then because it was much more straight.

The movie looks.......  ok, I'll wait for the review, but right now, I'm out.

I remember enjoying the comics from NOW in the early 90s.  I kinda hoped that the movie would have used those for a launch pad.

good to see others coming around. crash and burn activision, CRASH AND BURN.

In this one instance, the Wii has an advantage in Vicarious Visions.  Even if you count my Wii prejudice, you'll have to admit that the GH franchise pushed the interface, the ability to load and run off mass storage, the use of Mii(s) for jamming, the integration of the DS in Roadie Battle, and some other neat innovations that weren't in the other versions.  This despite the Wii being "underpowered."

FWIW, I play Rock Band on my PS3 and am looking forward to RB3 on that system.

Just an aside.  In the myths, as I remember, Thor's hammer was short because Loki interfered with the creation.
