I agree the first episode was not great. For me it was the fact that the characters were not immediately very likable - you didn't have much sympathy for the main girl until the end of the episode, and the stereotypical gay friend was, well, stereotypical. It was funny seeing Far Cry 3 guy, though.
I am curious to see episode 2 though, now that the main premise of the show was finally revealed at the very end of episode 1 (the clones).
Yeah thats pretty much how I saw it. The female lead is actually a horrible person, so Im sure this will be a tale of redemption. The stereotypical gay friend even showed a total lack of sympathy and complete disdain for the lead characters actions and hes her bestest friend. How are we supposed to care about what happens to her? Shows of this nature need a few episodes to really get established so Ill give it a while but I really hope it gets better.

Watched it. It was not great. Too cliche, though the sex scene was a bit more explicit than most american TV so theres that. Ill give it a few episodes to establish itself but it needs to get better.

One person who has not been asked to return...well,yet Warwick DavisWarwick played Wicket The Ewok in Return of the Jedi and the Ewok movies and Wald in The Phantom Menace,as well as a extra in the Hutt scene at the Pod Races "I'm not overly keen to jump in those furry feet again, but would like to be part of it."
Davis added: "I'd love a light sabre this time, who doesn't want a light sabre? I think a darker character, someone on the dark side would be interesting. When you're an actor, the baddies are the ones people remember."
Would you like to see Warwick Davis as a Dark Jedi or Sith?? Warwick Davis as an ewok Dark Jedi! He could assemble a bunch of dark ewoks and it would be like a really scary furry convention! on second thought, Im thinking any furry convention might be just a bit scary.

My comments were not meant as an indictment of Moffat, which is why I did not use his name in my comments. I was merely expressing my surprise and happiness that the show is indeed a completely different take on Holmes, when compared to the BBC series. I understood Moffats concerns ( though when he expressed them I thought he was over the top, as well as a bit premature in his statements ) Im just glad that they ended up being unfounded.

glad its been renewed but it was almost a guarantee it would be. It has done quite well, ratings wise. After all of the accusations from across the pond about this show being a rip off of BBC's awesome series Sherlock, it turns out that Elementary is completely different. I had my doubts when the show was announced but its turned out to be quite entertaining. While the two shows share the very basic commonalities from the Holmes mythos, the similarities stop there. Theres good chemistry between the leads and making Watson a woman has worked well without feeling gimmicky.

The small ratings drop wasnt likely a big deal, since the show just came back from a long break. If the ratings continue on a downward trend then it will probably kill the show. The show isnt stellar but its entertaining enough. I just wish the writing wasnt so ridiculously predictable. And they need to do a better job with logic.

Pretty cool presentation, but every fare listed was substantially higher than my wife's company's travel agent got her for a Boston to DC flight next week.
Yeah, remember travel agents?
I don't get how that works....travel agents have to get paid, so they tack on an amount to the ticket price, but somehow the prices are less? My ex was a travel agent. They get volume prices and their commission comes out of that difference. Depending on the amount of commission pulled, they can offer lower prices. Not really all that once you think about it. Its a pretty basic sales model.

I'd totally eat a dog, cat, or horse if given the opportunity. Not sure why these three animals are offlimits when we eat other animals we domesticate.
Considering your forum name and signature, Im not really sure why you felt to needed share this with us. It seems pretty obvious to me.

The downfall of american society started when women began clamoring for rights. Once we lost the barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen dynamic, everything went to hell. Look at it now, we have women voting, working and demanding equal pay, even running for president! We may as well burn it all down and start over because theres no saving us now!

I assume the Gov had the keys on him. As for disabling the truck, she may have thought that would take more time than it was worth, especially if it was locked. She had a frikkin knife, it would have taken her all of 5 seconds to slash the tires on that truck. Honestly I felt that this episode feature some of the laziest writing Ive ever seen on TWD. It had some good moments but it was so poorly thought out that it was almost unbearable.

Im pretty sure it was Milton who had the zombie toast fest. They all but hung a neon sign on him flashing I DID IT!!!! during that last scene with the Gov.
As far as the Governors super tracking powers, its simple. Once he lost his eye, the body compensated for the loss by giving him a new super power! Soon he will don his tights and cape and become GPSman!

We've been watching since episode 1 and the totally unrealistic premise is just too much for me.
I'm in the other camp than you rittchard, Bacon is failing as a Jack Bauer to me. I'm just not buying it.
Not sure which show is losing me faster, this or Zero Hour.
Sent from me cool phone
The word is that Zero Hour has already been cancelled. The show has a decent cast but it just didnt seem to flow very well plot wise. Yep, confirmed... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/01/zero-hour-canceled_n_2794162.html In fact they are not even going to air the rest of the episodes as planned.

The latest episode actually helped the previous ones make more sense. You have to buy into the belief that theres a whole lot of highly functioning, wealthy and conveniently placed psychopaths that are willing to work together like a finely tuned machine. Of course, like a lot of the entertainment coming out of Hollywood, the basic premise is impossible in reality, so if you cant accept the basic premise, you probably shouldnt bother watching because logic completely falls apart without it.

Hopefully Arrow doesn't go the same way as The Cape did. At least they got a second season, hopefully it keeps up. Just starting to get into it..
The Cape was horrific. This is not. Also The Cape had Summer Glau, harbinger of sci-fi series death, Arrow does not. Although if she shows up as a guest star, Id start worrying!

I did it for a few years. Got a roof top antenna and hulu plus and did fine. It helps to live in a major metro area where you can get all the networks in HD over the air. I went back because theres a lot of excellent "cable" only shows now. Things like Justified and The Walking Dead made me look for a decent package deal and I ended up with DirecTV. Part of the reason I switched back was due to a shift change at work. I now work 2nd shift so anything I want to watch in primetime, needs to be recorded. The HD-DVR with DirecTV allows me to catch every show I want, easily.

That is AWESOME! Wonder how big it is... Hoping for life size... Not sure how big it will be but this quote from the link makes it MEGA-AWESOME! The set includes a replica of The Governor's walker head aquariums, which can actually be filled with water, light up, and include five heads that can be arranged in any order you choose.

Years ago we had some freezing rain. There was ice everywhere. Once the rain stopped the clouds cleared and it became very sunny. I owned a van at the time and my roomate and I were headed out in the van. The sun had begun to melt the sheet of ice that was on top of my van and when I stopped at a light, the momentum change caused the sheet of ice to slide forward off the top of the van and down in front of the windshield. The ice shattered into 1000's of pieces as it hit the vans hood and the resulting bright sunlight cause a burst of rainbow like colors flashing from the pieces of ice. It was amazing, kind of like someone exploded a rainbow across the hood of my van.

I thought he was alright in the film, his come on/tease towards Bond was a bit unexpected, but its not like we have had that many bad guys actually interested in Bond that way....if he was actually interested in him that way
I had the feeling that he was doing that to Bond to try and put him off his game. As a field agent he has been trained to resist interrogation/torture, and we saw in Casino Royale that he wont give in for mere pain. Thats exactly what i thought, he was trying to rattle Bonds cool. As far as the movie, maybe its because it was so hyped up but I really didnt think it was the best Bond evar!!!!! It actually seemed fairly generic to me. Mostly due to the villian, who, to me seemed like a walking collection of cliches. I did like that Bond came off more self assured and experienced this time around and actually seemed competent for a change. Overall, I liked the movie and feel Craig does a great job as Bond but Skyfall still ranks below Thunderball and You Only Live Twice, as the best Bond ever.

Overall, this was definitely a better episode, with everyone trying to move their own stories forward, at least. Well, not Andrea, really. And the Gov started to, but then, like an inept supervillain, he walked out on his master plan before it was really underway. My guess is he didn't know really know the true numbers or firepower inside the prison, so he just sends in zombie bus to thin the herd, then pops back in later to clean it out. Agreed.

Naw, let it ride. Im actually truly interested in seeing if the overall community can exercise restraint.
I myself am from Michigan. Im not a gun owner myself. I can vouch that Michigan is a very well armed state. By far, most of the gun owners I know are extremely responsible people and for the most part are recreational hunters. I used to shoot, when I was in college and since my best friend was in ROTC, I actually practiced with the ROTC rifle team. It was a lot of fun and as it turned out I had skills as a marksman, better than most of the actual ROTC boys. As I got older, I got more involved in other things and havent shot a gun in a very long time. I can definitely see the appeal of recreational shooting though. I never did get into hunting though. Ive always been a pacifist and never saw the appeal in killing a live creature. I dont begrudge anyone the right to hunt, its just not for me.

Good luck with that. I doubt that this thread can stay simply about guns and not about the moral and legal issues involved. Really not sure why you even put this in "Off Topic" instead of where it belongs and will likely end up, if it doesnt, as you say, get "nuked from orbit". Heck, even you couldnt resist discussing Illinois concealed carry laws, right before asking people to avoid the "moral, ethical, constitutional, political, whatever, etc. perspective of things" I guess it will make an interesting social experiment though. BTW Im not trying to bust your balls about this or anything, just pointing out the reality of this topic.

Don’t know how much longer I can follow this show… Already the serial killer of the week is wearing thin and having multiple season of this, imo, won’t work. Btw if this happens I am done with the show I just see the spoiler happening Im still watching, its good enough if not great but if your spoiler actually happens, then Im out because it would be completely ridiculous. I do believe that they will have a surprise twist where Joe has already co-opted someone in the FBI. If that happens my money is on Shawn Ashmore.

yeah i love Red Dwarf, and wasn't too keen on BTE....too many Blade Runner references(I know it was a homage to it,but still),first episode was okay, but by the third and last it was limping along.....but yeah as Hepcat says last November's New Series was great and back to basics back to Star Trek,Simon Pegg was asked on the Red Carpet of the BAFTAs if J.J Abrams would be back for Star Trek 3 with him doing Star Wars 7,and he said yes he'll be back, however on his twitter account later he said that he did not know if he would be back for the third one videoSimon Pegg @simonpegg Just to be clear, contrary to reports in the press, I have no idea whether or not JJ will helm Star Trek 3. Just to be clear,peggster!!...the reports in the press are videos of you SAYING that he would helm Star Trek 3 Whats the big deal? Pegg stated an opinion that he felt JJ would do ST3, He can have an opinion and still not be absolutely sure. Even if JJ were under contract to do ST3, theres no guarantee that he would follow through. After the press started to blow this up he clarified. Hell, even if JJ himself stated that he WAS 100% positive he was doing ST3, its still no guarantee that he would, hollywood changes directions ( and directors ) constantly.
