But what is the best way to approach a prick? Maybe that is a question for a different type of forum. It doesn't matter that he's a prick, at the end of the day, he's still your boss. You approach the situation the same as you would with a manager that isn't one - with respect. Explain your situation clearly, and most importantly, explain how this change will not affect your performance or quality.

It makes me nauseous.
Are you sure that's not just the Chick-fil-a? Chick-fil-a is delicious. Their leaders' point-of-view and charitable contributions are appalling. I'll have to find my fill of deliciousness elsewhere.

All good points. This would be much easier if he wasn't sort of a prick to begin with ... or if I didn't have preconceived notions that he is a prick. All the more reason to sit down with him and talk. If he is indeed a prick, he'd be more apt to deny your request if you approach it the wrong way.

Usually for something like this I would actually speak to the boss in person, rather than an email.
This. Once you have discussed it verbally, follow it up with an email to make sure that everything is in writing and you have a paper trail you can follow if anything changes in the future. That is why I originally put it in email. I like it in writing. If he wants to say no I would like ti written down. Right, but this kind of thing is something that should be addressed in person first. You can always tell him that you're going to follow it up with an email for your records or something like that.

The USA women's gymnastics team won gold for the 1st time since 1996, and Michael Phelps became the most decorated Olympian of all time last night, having now earned 19 medals to date (15 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze). But, he may not be done just yet. Grats to the women's gymnastics team and Michael Phelps! Micheal is now the most decorated Olympian, but does this mean he is the greatest Olympian of all time so far? I'm not even remotely qualified to speculate who is the greatest, but IMHO the Olympians that compete in the decathalon, triathlon, or gymnastics seem to have a much harder events than swimming. While I do agree that there are sports/competitions that may be more difficult than "just" swimming, is there another athlete out there that has dominated their sport so soundly as he has?

started watching this on Netflix. not bad after two episodes, can't wait to see how they flesh out some of the characters.
Keep watching it. The characters on this show are amazing. Yes they are, I love "The Swede". Oh, yeah. I really cannot think of a character on this show that is weak and not fleshed out well.

I just did a side-by-side comparison with Chrome, and while Safari is much faster than prior to Mountain Lion, it didn't load pages any faster for me than Chrome. I think that once iOS 6 is released, it may give Chrome competition then.
Chrome has been troublesome lately, though. Any page with a hint of flash on it has has a high percentage of displaying blank. See this: http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/20/3173044/flash-and-chrome-for-mac-a-horrible-bitter-cocktailIt's been driving me nuts, and consequently, driving me away from Chrome. As I don't need to use dev tools nearly as much as I used to, my need for Chrome has diminished there as well. Other than that, my side-by-side testing has Safari cleanly edging out Chrome in page load. Weird, I haven't experienced that at all. And I would think you, of all people, would steer away from anything with Flash anyway.

Safari is freakishly fast. I think it's faster than Chrome. Love the new look as well. Finally, searching in the address bar. That used to annoy the hell out of me.
Need the check Safari out tomorrow fo sho'

I like this part in particular: Voloch said Bale notified that he wanted to visit the injured, but asked that media not be notified. "He just wanted to meet with victims and police." What's that saying? I forget the wording. Just sometimes it's more about what you do when there isn't a spotlight around. I do hope victims - if they want to (I'm sure for some it might bring back bad memories) - get to see the entire movie, even if it's on DVD at home or at some screening room set up by Warner Bros or something. That's nothing but class right there.

And the fight just didn't show anything which made me think "oh he is powerful" - well in the second fight he does punch cement and break it but that was awful late in the movie to convince me. I remember Bane doing several (little) things throughout the movie which hinted at just how strong he really was. It was enough that very early on in the movie I had the thought that this was the most "comic booky" of the trilogy, and Bane was way stronger than anyone else in the films. Batman has done some crazy things, but he also has a suit that allowed him to do some of those things, like bending a gun barrel in the first film. This. Also, re: the second fight wanting Batman to use more strategy

You could spend the rest of your life trying to decipher words like this.
Or you could just ask her out.
(Editor's note: Mr. Fed's original draft said "Or you could just ask if she likes anal." This seems more on-message and appropriate.
He could always just show her his penis. That usually works 1-2% of the time.

I stand corrected. Still seems odd to take a small child out that late, but I am not wise in the ways of parenting.
Many parents aren't wise in the ways of parenting. There was at least 1 baby and several too-young children at our show yesterday.

Amazing movie from beginning to end. I really don't understand some of the complaints about pacing and such with the movie. While Bane couldn't hold a candle to the Joker, I thought it was a perfect and fitting end to the trilogy. We're already making plans on seeing it at least once more, but likely more than that.

Fwiw, Ebert's review went 3/4 stars (he was more keen on the first 2 films' 4 stars each), though he seemed to love the latter part of the film. That was about his same rating for The Avengers so, maybe it's a good sign? For some reason, I better remember seeing Batman Begins in a theater in July 2005. I had a late work night but didn't want to work until 11 p.m. to reach the midnight show. So I went to the theater earlier and caught a 9 p.m. show of Mr. and Mrs. Smith (which I quite enjoyed), but still had to loiter in the theater a good 45 minutes or so before midnight Batman Begins seating began. I remember there was soooo much applause at the end. And the final scenes with Gordon and Batman left it on such a promising note. I do wish they'd cast Maggie Glyenhaal as Rachel in BB though. I remember at the time being very annoyed by Katie Holmes' performance -- she just didn't seem up to par with the rest of that cast. Maybe Nolan can digitally paste her (Glyenhall's) face into BB at some point. He can ask George Lucas for tips on doing that! NOoOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! For some reason, I don't quite remember seeing TDK as much even though I saw it three times. I just remember seeing it at the same mall I'm going to on Thursday for the trilogy. And I remember with the opening night midnight show, taking much care to park my car in the garage as close to mall's connector walkway to make sure I wasn't walking too far in a garage at 3 a.m. Still a concern this Thursday. Thus endeth my nostaglic Batman blathering... I'm not a big Katie Holmes fan (although that's improving with her recent ballsy move against Scientology), and I'm usually a big Maggie Gyllenaal fan, but I have to say I thought MG was really not great in the last one. I thought KH did a better job. I can't agree that Katie Holmes did a better job acting-wise ("Officer, let me through, I am an assistant DA" was her most laughable line), but I couldn't get over everyone fawning over Maggie Gyllenhaal, especially when the Joker says to her, "...and you are beautiful." Much like Kirsten Dunst in Spider-Man, I thought the role of Rachel Daws could have been better cast.

I miss that show so very, very much. I just was watching a clip with Richard Simmons and laughed so hard I cried.
This. They tried doing something like Whose Line with most of the same cast, but it was terrible. There's a show on ABC called Give Me Your Life or something like that with some of the same cast that looks interesting. I have it on the DVR, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

So, I've been off the cigarettes since january, but noticed something today that I'd forgotten about, but always been able to do. Its kinda like pressing up from the lungs for a short while, and then exhaling - it produces a little bit of what looks like smoke! Very very weird - I tried googling it but couldn't find anything.
The funny thing is, I've always been able to do it, but always put it down to having smoke in the lungs from smoking.
Anyone have any ideas what the heck it is?
I experienced that as well, but I have no idea what it is

Okay, so after reading all the posts, comments, etc here and all over the interwebz, I want to know what all the fuzz is about? My question is, what's the best place to get started? I'm not really into the old 60's and 70's TV shows, so there's that to consider.

Man do I miss the gym. And playing competitive sports. And being able to swallow comfortably. And being able to cough without almost passing out from the pain. Fortunately I have yet to sneeze since surgery. That made me think of the first time I sneezed post hernia surgery. It felt like my intestines and testicles were fighting for a chance to breathe fresh air at the same time.

What are some of the supplements you take for your exercise routines and every day health? I'm looking to add some creatine to my daily diet, so recommendations for that are particularly interesting to me.
