I don't know...I was going to use that $25 GC from that I got from buying Super Mario Galaxy on Assassin's Creed. I may hold off on it and rent it over the weekend now. It just looks way too awesome to pass up on.

Yup, from what I can tell, the menus and functionality are exactly the same as the Zune g2, which is very encouraging.

My daughter is 18 months, so there aren't many games that we can play together just yet. Though she loves to come up and press buttons on the 360 controller while I'm playing! I really can't wait until she's old enough for us to get into a game together...

Marvin Harrison or no Marvin Harrison. In my opinion anyone who thinks Peyton Manning is not a 1st ballot Hall of Fame quarterback just doesn't know football.

If it's possible to rent it where I live I will and I'll to confirm this. I just got the GH II with my new X360 so it didn't pubchase the GH III Wii version as I initially planned. In regards to to ProLogic II support on my Wii, I've found it to be superior to PLII on my previous GameCube and my PS2.
I can confirm it. I was over at Mike's house yesterday and heard it for myself. Being that I was the previous owner of his surround sound system, I checked all the different settings on it, and GH III would only output stereo whereas even the Wii menu audio would come out of all of the speakers. Terrible.

So I just called the closest TRU to me, and the guy at the video game dept claimed that he wasn't sure if it was either for a regular purchase or only if you were picking up a reserve copy. He said that some stores had been told one thing and others the opposite. What do you think?
[link=http://toysrus.shoplocal.com/toysrus/default.aspx?action=detail&flashbrowse=y&storeid=2561343&rapid=477220&pagenumber=12&listingid=-2092444618&ref=%2ftoysrus%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowsepageflash%26storeid%3d2561343%26pagenumber%3d12%26rapid%3d477220%26prvid%3dToysRus-071111]Toys R Us Ad[/link]
I don't see anything on there that says anything about this applying to copies on reserve only. Even then, I think I may have to go by there on my way home and reserve it just to be on the safe side.

I know someone with a modded Wii (no, not me), and he's had SMG for a few days. He said it's awesome so far. I'm going to buy it from Toys R Us where you get a $25 gift card if you buy it in-store...

I can never figure out why people use either Firefox or Thunderbird. It's seems like a throwback for how buggy and crappy computing was in the 90's. From my tiny bit of experience with it, Firefox seems exactly as reliable as Netscape was. Which is to say, not very. There's a reason IE won, people. IE has won so far because it's bundled with the OS, not because it's a superior browser. Ask any web developer out there, and they'll tell you that IE == pieceOfGarbage(); EDIT: Oh, and yes, I am a web developer.

Why I still recommend using the official product verses saving money on something else - the Microsoft one will happily work (and be configured by) the 360.
You know, I had a hard time getting it to pick up an IP address. I had to give up and enter in the settings manually.

Just remember to check and see when your location is getting axed - it would suck if your store is one of the December 07 closings.
Yeah, all the Hollywood videos around my area of town are closing down. I've heard a similar rumor about Blockbuster within the near future. Apparently they just can't keep up with Netflix...

I really like the Zune. I've had mine for a little over 4 months now, I guess. I bought it as a good deal at $180 from Staples.com. How a few months change things! The only things that I'm not a big fan of are the shuffle function and the Zune software. I know that with the updates next week, the software will be replaced. I just hope they address the shuffle function too. Welcome to the Social to those who just bought it! Sorry, I couldn't help myself...

Amen to that. I've watched 24 faithfully since the first season and season six was so bad that I stopped halfway through.
Put it out of its misery.
Ditto...my wife and I made it to episode 6 or 7 and quit shortly thereafter. Terrible season. We made it a bit further. We watched until they tied up the first main plot arc but bailed before they got into the second. HA! I made it all the way through you pansies! uhh...with last season, it's not something to be proud of!

Turtle, the issue is if you want to send audio and video to separate locations, Like audio to a receiver but video directly to a TV.
Why can't you connect the 360 to your TV's HDMI port and send the audio from the TV to your receiver? That's what I do with all of my inputs. Instead of worrying about splitting signals and extra cables, everything goes to the TV and there is only one set of audio cables going from the TV to the receiver.

It doesn't look like the MR814V2 can be run as a bridge (short of installing some apocryphal "custom firmware" which may/may not exist). You can use any ethernet bridge, if you're so inclined. The 802.11b Linksys WET11 or WGA11B were widely used in the past, and I'm sure you can get it cheaply on ebay. Or the original Xbox ethernet bridge, which isn't USB, but works just as well, and you could buy it secondhand to avoid giving M$ any money. Whether you use b or g depends on your streaming media needs. Thanks, Brendan! I've been reading about DD-WRT software which allows much more control over your router than the default installed software. The problem is that there are so many versions of it specifically tailored to different routers that I don't want to just up and "brick" mine, know what I mean? I don't know...I may just go with your suggestion and buy a third-party adapter. Any thoughts on this one? Linky

So, my wife and I just moved into a house. Yay me. The problem is that the house isn't pre-wired for network, my 2wire gateway is in my office, and I can't run a cable from my 360 that far. So I'm faced with a dilemma: Do I pony up $100 for the stupid USB dongle M$ adapter (a big NO-NO), or do I make my own bridge? The problem with the latter is that I'm no network wiz, so I'm at a bit of a loss on how to proceed. I have a Netgear MR814V2 that's collecting dust at the moment, so I may be able to use that. The question is, how? Help?

We just couldn't, it was that painful. And we were rabid 24 fans. The first 4 hours were awesome, and it unraveled immediately afterwards. Oh, well...Last I heard is that they were retooling the entire show since that was a major complaint about the show last season. They were moving things to DC and some other stuff. Had the strike happened before last season, I would have been upset. As it stands now, I really couldn't care less.
