I'm thinking that might be a Dragon Warrior game of some sort, but I have the slightest idea as to which one it is.

No big problems here, though I do hope no one exploits any D-Line glitches and pounds my QB into the ground time and time again.  Tongue

Well, 3 of the 6 games have been played - let's get those games played so the guys that have already finished our first week games can play again!  Man, playing league games is freakin' fun!

I'm scheduled to play tonight.  Patience, man, patience!

5286  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / How do you decide what game to play? on: September 24, 2004, 02:57:12 PM
For me, deciding what game to play comes down to how much time I have and what I'm in the mood for.  Pretty soon, it'll come down to a desire to beat a game, which might get me back into MGS: The Twin Snakes and Star Wars: Rebel Strike in the near future.

On the main Franchise screen, there is an espn.com option.  Go into that menu, and there will be an injury report option.  In there, you'll find who is injured, what the injury is, and how long he'll be out.

Yeah.  7.9 on Gamespot, 8.3 from IGN, 6.33 from EGM, 8.3 from Team XBox.  79% average on Game Rankings.

ESPN NHL: 9.1 on Gamespot, 9.2 from IGN, 8.33 from EGM, 8.9 from Team XBox.  86% average on Game Rankings.

Looks like I made the right choice, and for $30 less, too!

Anyone up for some CG/GG action on Burnout 3 on Live tonight? Turnout last Wednesday was pretty good for a while...had 6-8 people the entire time.

Who's in, and what time?

I'll host if we get enough people.

So, are we still doing this?  I can set it up if need be.

Teams as of posting:

TML - Penguins
Poly Cat - Flyers
pr0ner - Flames
Semaj - Devils
stiffler - Thrashers
gellar - Kings
Devil - Oilers
Tebunker - Bruins

We've got 8 teams, if everyone's still interested; I can set up some tourney brackets and get this thing rolling!  Lemme know!

Can you link that post?  I was wondering why the gameplay was SOO much harder on All-Star than it was on Pro.

Then again, even with that "SOO" much harder gameplay, I was still able to either squeak out a win or lose by 1.

Online soon, Devil?

Oh and real quick, am I missing something or can you not change jerseys?  I want alternates, historic, etc. - but no can do.  And btw, I spotted a couple of nifty unlockables in the Skybox.  One includes playing in the Heritage Classic and the other is an old-school video game hockey rink...kind of interesting in what that means.

When playing with the Flames last night, I noticed a home jersey, an away jersey, an alternate jersey, and a home and away "vintage" (from '95 or so) already unlocked; all I had to do was press the R trigger to get them.  Other jerseys were there for unlocking.  I guess it all depends on the team.

5315  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ESPN - NHL 2k5 - Impressions - Let's Here 'Em on: September 02, 2004, 03:48:48 PM
My impressions:

The gameplay graphics don't look as sharp as last year, but that doesn't bother me much.  The ESPN sound thing is a little off, too.  I would compare it to NCAA 2005, where the announcers can be a bit hard to hear sometimes.  But, the soundeffects themselves are great.

The new fighting engine will take a bit of getting used to.  I won my first fight, but lost all the rest.  What's the average number of fights you all are getting in a 5 minute period game?  I'm getting 2-3 each game (I've only played 3, though).

Penalties seem to be called a lot more with a rougher game.  Chris Simon went to the box 7 (!!) times one game.  Seems to be too many 2-minute spearing calls, too.  But, I fixed this problem by playing a much less physical game the next time out.

I'm playing on All-Star difficulty.  I haven't won yet, since I'm playing against Tampa Bay using the Calgary Flames.  Scores were 4-2, 2-1 (OT), 2-1.  However, all 4 of my goals were scored differently.  A diving goal by Yelle and a wicked slapper from the bottom of the left circle by Iginla the first game.  A blast to the top left corner from the right point by Leopold in the second game just after entering the zone.  And, a top glove side wrister on a breakway by Iginla in the third.  Haven't scored a one-timer yet, though.  Oh yeah, I've managed to keep all the games close until the very end, when the computer will score a cheap (at least to me) goal.  Anyone else seeing this?

Puck physics seem a bit off after hitting the goalie, with a lot of pucks flying straight up or straight over the goal, but I think I can get used to that.  Goalie passing seems improved for me, though.

Overall verdict: Thumbs up so far!

No no  no, if I put Kennison as my returner, Dante Hall gets kicked out completely from returning. You can't pick you backup or second guy. It just says pick who you want to start. It's not like the rest of the depth chart system.

I know how to use the game, it's just not an easy to use system.

Sure you can.  Playing online lately, I notice my special teams are borked, but I have no problems whatsoever getting Dante Hall as my number 1 kickoff returner and Derrick Blaylock as my number 2.
