Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Anyone else having problems with Gone Gold?

No need to leave Ebonstone. I just won't take anyone badmouthing Rich. We might differ on our management styles or anything else for that matter, but I'll step up to the mic and say that I appreciate him and what he has done for the industry as a whole. At the end of the day though, its my name at the bottom of the check, if you catch my drift. Don't you think Ebonstone should be banned just for his .sig? Pretty classless, if you ask me. Mike

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / The official woman of Console Gold [56k]
|
on: October 09, 2004, 03:17:53 AM

In keeping with the Gone Gold tradition, it's time to nominate the official woman of the Console Gold boards. First, the usual suspects: Elisha! Scarlett! Keira! and finally, in a new addition, Charlize! If anyone else has any suggestions, post! Mike

Mmm, good news indeed if that cesspool of a forum is dead.
The P&R forum, along with the subsequent moderator aggression, influx of taddletail crybabies, and exodus of several key forum members cursed Gone Gold to extinction.
Still bitter over getting banned, not once, but TWICE, from that forum? Good Lord. Mike

Wow, this is not good. You think there would have at least been a warning from someone (a mod or admin, perhaps) that this was going to happen and give people a chance to head here, or elsewhere.
I wonder if this means the death of the GG NFL 2K5 pick'em...

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Rising Price of Games?
|
on: October 07, 2004, 11:34:01 PM
|
Umm, weren't a lot of SNES games $60-$80? Yep. As were many PC games in the early 90s... off the top of my head, Ultima VIII, Strike Commander, 7th Guest, etc. were all retailing around $80. I forgot that N64 prices were in this range, too. I just read on IGN's XBox site that Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64 retailed for $70. Mike

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / CG ESPN Football League has begun.

The League rules are posted on the site. Please review them and let me know if I left anything out. No big problems here, though I do hope no one exploits any D-Line glitches and pounds my QB into the ground time and time again. Mike

Well, 3 of the 6 games have been played - let's get those games played so the guys that have already finished our first week games can play again! Man, playing league games is freakin' fun! I'm scheduled to play tonight. Patience, man, patience! Mike

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / How do you decide what game to play?
|
on: September 24, 2004, 02:57:12 PM
|
|
For me, deciding what game to play comes down to how much time I have and what I'm in the mood for. Pretty soon, it'll come down to a desire to beat a game, which might get me back into MGS: The Twin Snakes and Star Wars: Rebel Strike in the near future.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / NFL2k5 - Injury Reports
|
on: September 23, 2004, 04:44:55 PM

|
On the main Franchise screen, there is an espn.com option. Go into that menu, and there will be an injury report option. In there, you'll find who is injured, what the injury is, and how long he'll be out.

Yeah. 7.9 on Gamespot, 8.3 from IGN, 6.33 from EGM, 8.3 from Team XBox. 79% average on Game Rankings.
ESPN NHL: 9.1 on Gamespot, 9.2 from IGN, 8.33 from EGM, 8.9 from Team XBox. 86% average on Game Rankings.
Looks like I made the right choice, and for $30 less, too!
