I certainly get my money's worth out of the sports games.  And playing Battlefront for free for 10 hours as a trial was nice, too.

Well, regardless, Broforce is pretty awesome. Mindless hilarious bloody violent shooty fun.

Finished Broforce tonight.  Really enjoyed it, but they did a bad job with some of the later levels - too much on screen = massive slowdown.

If someone sees this on Friday could you chime in and say how bloody/gory it is? My wife has expressed interest in seeing this because we see all the Marvel movies, but I don't want her to have buyers remorse when it turns out to be not quite like the standard fare. I've already warned her but it would be good to be sure.

The blood flows freely for a super hero movie, but not to a horror movie level and honestly I think it's the sex scenes that earned this movie the R ratiing. There were several kids in my theater around 10 - 12 range and I groaned when they walked in with their parents

There were 4 or 5 kids much younger than that in my showing of Deadpool yesterday morning.

I'm a little bummed I missed Dragonforce.  Not a big fan of their music, but I've heard they put on a hell of a show.

Their first set on the first night got cancelled because they were using too much power and apparently blowing all the circuits on the stage.   icon_lol  They got rescheduled for a 4am show the following night, but there was no way I could stay up for that one.  Their second set also got rescheduled when they closed the main stage on the last night (due to a huge storm), and their reschedule slot overlapped with Turisas.  frown

Dragonforce does put on a great show live.  Finally saw them for the first time back in November.  Just manic energy for the whole set, and Li and Totman are the real deal as guitarists.

Too funny that they blew all the circuits on stage their first set.  Since they were on the cruise back in 2013, you'd think the boat would know how much power those guys need!

If I had gone, I would have made a point to check out:

Dragonforce
Rhapsody of Fire
Hammerfall
Gamma Ray
Stratovarius
Epica

I would have been curious about:
Delain
Iced Earth
Lacuna Coil

I believe I got mine in the wrong order regarding IW and Sledgehammer, I liked Ghost more than AW.

I didn't play enough MP in either to say, but in SP, the campaign for AW was better than the one for Ghost.  The exosuit worked a lot better in SP in AW than it ever did in MP.
8  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: My current musical obsession (metal) on: February 10, 2016, 10:05:06 PM
Epica was #2?  Surprising, in that a) I didn't think you'd like them, and b) wasn't expecting you to check them out, given your pre cruise list.

I'm guessing I know the answer if I ask you if you saw any of the bands I really like.  Tongue

What happened to the October fight?

Short story version is that my opponent missed weight. Not by a little either, his KFC loving butt was two weight classes above 48 hours before weigh ins.  I wasn't not able to to accept the fight even if I wanted to due to commission regulations, however I was fairly compensated for showing up at weight.  Very anticlimactic end to a grueling fight camp in which my trainer had two world class strikers from Thailand help train me.

TWO weight classes?  What is that, 15 pounds?

Almost 18 pounds overweight, so ridiculous  disgust

Good grief.

Fumble and I just played a match of Breakout where we won 5-1.  3 of the round victories were flag caps on my part, and the last was a kill while carrying the flag just as I was about to cap it again.  The other team was utterly oblivious to the fact that I was making a point of capping the flag.

I had a bit less success at it the match before, but it was still pretty exciting to make unmolested flag runs in that mode.

I'm loving breakout and swat modes for Halo.  While I love Warzone, I wish there were more maps for it and I miss the Co-op horde mode firefight

Breakout may have finally clicked for me last night when I realized that no one really goes for the flag and it's very possible to do stealth runs with the flag right up the middle as long as the other team isn't making their initial blind charge that way.

Also, I confirmed my reservation for the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise for me and a friend yesterday.   headbang headbang

Damn. This year's lineup is probably the best one I've seen yet in terms of the metal I like, but I can't see myself going on a cruise alone.

I wonder if Herman Li will play his guitar in a pool again like the last time Dragonforce was on the cruise.

Alone?  Nah, you can just come hang out with us!  smile

My wish list for the remaining 30 bands:
-  Sigh
-  Vallenfyre
-  Amorphis (oh please oh please oh please)
-  Finntroll
-  Agalloch
-  Amon Amarth
-  Skeletonwitch
-  Amiensus
-  Allegaeon
-  Witherscape
-  Ghost
-  Hollenthon
-  Unexpect
-  The Ocean (would be funny to listen to The Ocean...on the ocean)
-  Pallbearer
-  Scar Symmetry

If any of these band sign up, I'll be a happy Gratch.

I certainly don't mind going to hear the bands I want to hear alone!  But the cost of a single room is pretty ridiculous, and I don't want to be roomed with a total stranger.

Break a leg!  His preferably. (Its just an expression, I'm told)

I actually tried to do that during the fight.  My opponent never bothered to check any of my kicks. After I landed the first leg kick hard, he looked at me in horror and I knew he didn't want to be there anymore.
4 hour drive, 66 seconds in the ring, 6 legs kicks for a TKO in the first.  Dude was out of shape and he looked scared.  Felt bad. I think his whole family came out to watch him fight. Drove home. High fived the wife and drank a little vodka leftover from Harkonis's last visit.

Congrats!

But, vodka isn't Bud Light.

Played some of the XBox One beta with Hark, Fumble, Vidiot, and Mikagami last night.  Played a little Conquest (exactly what you'd expect), Heist (which was a lot of fun with a fully organized group working together), and Hotwire (which was a lot of fun driving around cars in a deathmatch type setting). Wish I had remembered to play this earlier since the Beta is now over, but I certainly enjoyed playing it.

I'll probably buy my WiiU there when it's time, because Amazon doesn't carry them directly and prices for the consoles are therefore obscene.

I also bought my PS4 there, because it was the easiest way to get the GTA5/TLoU bundle.

I won't buy games or anything else there, but they're perfectly fine for consoles.  And there's one 5 minutes from where I live.
