Wow, these sound really cool!  Gnome mages will be awesome as will orc warriors and warlocks.  Tauren warriors will be great too.  And Undead with cannibalize is just cool.

There is a lot of story elements in WoW.  There are some very engaging quests with complex storylines.  If you are a fan of the Warcraft lore, you'll love this game.  It's so cool seeing the stuff from Warcraft in a more grand scale.  If you go to the Eastern Plaguelands, you'll see ziggurats, slaughterhouses, and abominations.  In the Blasted Lands, you can see the Dark Portal with dread lords guarding it.  It's all really cool.

As far as the instances, you'll be amazed at the depth of all the instances.  From Deadmines/Van Cleef all the way up to Blackrock Deeps and beyond, they are amazing.  The instances are for experienced players but you get really great rewards for doing them.  But keep in mind that you can get to lvl 60 without setting foot in any instance.

It looks like Thottbot is down at the moment, but when it is up, you can search for my character's names to see what they are wearing.  My mage isn't decked out yet, but she's gotta a few good items from the higher level instances (Sunken Temple and Blackrock Deep).  My warlock is slowing decking out in Shadoweave gear which looks cool but isn't the best gear for a warlock.[/url]

Okay, I think the last bit is a stretch, but I know that talents and traits are coming in the patch.

Hmmm... I tried finding the post about it, but I can't find it.  Maybe racial traits aren't in the next patch... *shrug*

It's hard to say right now, but I picked Alliance PvE.  Paladin and Hunter talents aren't in yet and high level spells/skills are still coming as well.  It really depends on what changes they make.

Why PvE?  Because I don't want to be fighting people when I want to quest or farm.  I'd rather go PvP when I go to the battlegrounds or raid a city.

Not sure about Horde much, but when I played an Alliance rogue, there was a vendor bought dagger at lvl 11.  So you still have a lvl to go for it.

But I agree, check out the Auction House for gear.  smile

Edit: It's easy to get to the blimp at lower levels for the Undead.  Brill is like a 2 minute walk from the Undercity and the blimp tower.  There aren't many mobs along the road and most are under level 10 or so.

Just noticed that you are now flagged for PvP when you step into enemy towns now on PvE.  You don't even have to attack anything; just step in and PvP.

I can't download from Fileplanet until I get my email it seems.  I've tried going the direct route via their WoW section and it keep redirecting me to the sign up page.  Dammit, I already signed up.  I just want the client so I can start up my closed beta characters.  :?

I wasn't really interested in PvP as well, but with the plans of battlegrounds, I'm looking forward to that PvP aspect.  So in that sense, Blizzard really needs to get the PvP balance down right.  I really don't see how they are going to balance battlegrounds if they don't get them in soon so we can test them.  Right now, I see a huge disadvantage for the Horde mainly because Alliance outnumbers them.  I'm curious to see how they balance that out.  Plus using seige vehicles and infernals to destroy enemy buildings sounds cool.

If Blizzard does this right, it could be what a lot of people hoped Savage would be.  Another cool idea I read about the battlegrounds was to have players help gather resources and build buildings (i.e. town hall, blacksmith, etc.).  Then they can go attack the enemy's buildings and such.  I guess if one side out numbers the other, the battleground could put in some NPCs to even the sides.

I have a lvl 57 mage and lvl 38 warlock on beta2.  Let me give my 2 cents worth.

I've found a mage to be pretty good to solo with.  I've spec'ed my talents in arcane and fire.  Basically with evocation, you don't have to worry too much about drinking between sets of mobs.  Every six minutes, you get a fill up on your mana bar.  My mage has about 5k mana with arcane intellect.  I have a pretty good balance of spirit and int as well.  So I really don't find myself drinking a lot.

In instances, if you don't have a good tank, mage's AoE is deadly for the mage.  I've pulled aggro from so many mobs, if your priest doesn't shield you, you're toast.  So, it's important to find a good tank (and when I mean tank, I mean someone who can hold aggro ALL THE TIME).  If paladins are to become tanks, I really hope they get some good talents to AoE taunt.

As for warlock, if you learn to play this class right, it is extremely easy to kill mobs several levels above you.  Warlocks are pretty nice now with their talents.  Also, warlock's hellfire can out DPS a mage's arcane explosion.  I'm not sure if the hellfire can out DPS a presence of mind insta cast flamestrike then arcane explosion, but as far as mana is concerned, warlocks use much less mana for hellfire then a mage would for multiple arcane explosions.  I hope that mages get some higher lvl spell upgrades so we aren't reduced to portable drinking fountains.

And for stress test and open beta, stress test can't be open beta.  They haven't even done the sign ups for open beta.  And I really hope they don't wipe for open beta.  Wiping at retail would mean more testing time for hunter and paladin talents, plus warlock's felhunter and infernal.  Plus I'm hoping they added more crafting recipes and high level skills and spells.
