I find it so odd that you can't switch what skills are assigned to mouse buttons except through the skill screen.  It seems like such a waste.  Until I'm in a room, I don't know if I need AOE or single target high damage.  I shouldn't have to guess.  I should be able to respond appropriately.
You can play in "elective" mode from the game options menu which allows you to customize your hotkeys with any skill you want. However I don't think you can expand the current number of four hotkeys.

I was hoping they'd have some sort of Gold challenge event at some point. Not that I'm a masochist, just thought it'd be fun to have some enticement to play that difficulty level.  icon_smile

What? The 70k+ credits aren't enticement enough? smile

My brother and 2 friends and I did a Gold Reaper the other night (before the new DLC) and man was it tough!  I didn't have fraps loaded to record some video, but there were several times during a wave where 2 - 3 banshees plus 2 - 3 brutes were on top of our location.  It was fun, but so much work! Haha...

So I used Windows Movie Maker and it was pretty easy to put together my fraps clips.  I didn't edit them since I wasn't sure how and plus the video was stuttering in WMM which made playback hard to go through.  What settings do you use in fraps and what settings do you publish at, Blackjack?

Anyway, here is my video: http://youtu.be/3l7LO_0AZgU

I played a few games of gold level Geth on Firebase White with my brother, friend, and a random player.  I played as Salarian Engineer for most of it, and then switched to Asari Adept later.  I wish I didn't lose so much FPS when I start recording video.  I go from 60 to ~30 or so.  I'm not sure if I can adjust some settings to not take such a big performance hit.  Anyway, I hope you liked the video!  icon_smile

Well, I tried to make a video of my gold level Geth run, but since I only have the free version of fraps, I could only record 30 secs.  So this is the first 30 secs of wave 5:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0p44Wu7rig&feature=youtu.be

Also, I noticed that fraps makes a huge file.  30 seconds is 200+ mb?  Blackjack, do you have some utility that compresses the fraps file?

Looking forward to the new classes and maps. I figured we'd see playable Geth at some point, but Batarians? What's next - Volus? You just know the Krogan Battlemaster will be a rare. Time to start saving up credits now.

The only map of the 6 we have now that I don't like is Reactor. Two new ones are very welcome.

There was a leaked screenshot I saw of the new classes in the "pack" format and they were all gold, i.e. rare.  I really wish they keep the Premium Spectre packs around, but I know they will be gone on Monday. frown

I really dislike the Reactor map as well.  I'm really looking forward to the new maps too. smile

I still don't have the asari adept... Don't worry though, cause I've got the salarian infiltrator about 15 times. Looking forward to new maps though!

That's funny, because I have the exact opposite issue.  I fully unlocked my Asari Adept (I can customize skin tone), but still have yet to unlock the Salarian Infiltrator.  I really want the Salarian Infiltrator too since Energy Drain from cloak is uber powerful.  Salarian Infiltrator + N7 Valiant Sniper Rifle = Win.

The best part about the DLC is that it is FREE!   icon_biggrin

Not sure what is going to be different with the Asari Justicar since there already is an Asari Adept.  Hopefully, they have a cool and interesting mechanic.

I'm excited about the new maps as well.  Starting to get a little stale with the same maps over and over.

Edit: After watching the trailer for the DLC again, I noticed that the Asari Justicar has what looks like a shield bubble that provides some damage reduction for your squad.  That looks really cool.  icon_cool

Actually, in the cut scene, you do see which color each option is and you can see the color of the lights from the bottom of the ramp.

Ya after watching some videos about the ending I noticed that.  I think it was badly presented.  Why would they force you from going back down the ramp if you changed your mind?

I'm not sure how far up the ramp you've must have gone, because I've been able to go up to a little past the top of the ramp and still can go back down. Apparently, there is different music playing on the two ramps and I tried going to both to check it out.

The catalyst/entity/whatever tells me I have two choices (apparently there's 3, but I wasn't made aware of it) destroy or control the reapers.  It shows two ramps forming on each side of the pathway.  There is no indication which side is what (control or destroy) and your still walking slower than a 90 year old, so it's pretty tedious from the start.  Not knowing what I want to do yet, I wanted to explore and find out what ramp does what.  So I choose the left ramp, slowing make my way up, and as I get near the console, I can see it's the control option, based off what the cutscene showed.  You couldn't tell from standing at the bottom of the ramp, so you have to go all the way up.

I decided that I want to destroy the reapers so I tried to head back down the ramp and make my way up the right ramp.  Except once you get so close to the console, it won't let you go down the ramp, so now I'm forced to choose control.  I haven't saved in awhile, mainly because the game decided it that I shouldn't be able to save for me (greyed out) and I didn't want to reload my last save game because of the slow movement, so I just grinned and took it.

Bad level design there, it should have been more clear on which ramp goes to where.

There are 3 choices.  The 3rd choice, which was Synthesis, only appears if you have enough war assets (I think 4k min).

Actually, in the cut scene, you do see which color each option is and you can see the color of the lights from the bottom of the ramp.

Did some Gold level Geth tonight with my brother and friend and a random pug.  Completed the first one and the dude dropped at wave 3 on the second match.  We ended up 3 manning it:

Geth are so easy with Salarians because of Energy Drain.  Decoy for Salarian Engineers is also crazy good.

Hey all just got an iPhone 4S today and the screen has the dreaded yellow tint I am now reading about on the interwebs. The phone does not appear to be recently manufactured as the iOS needed to be updated when I set it up. Looks like quite a few people have had this issue and I'm wondering if anyone here at GT has had a device with yellow tint and had success replacing it (meaning did the replacement have a cool blue tint instead.)  Also, anyone here with a 4S that does NOT have the yellow ting screen?  After 2 iPhone 4 and 3 x iPads, this is the first problem device I've had. Going back to the apple store tomorrow, but curious if anyone had seen this here. Thanks.

I read that the yellow splotches are temporary.  From macintouch.com:
Quote
Yellow Screen Splotches

Several users have reported yellow blemishes at the corners of their iPhone 4 screens. This appears to be a purely cosmetic and temporary issue that is the result of a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 [from Dow Corning], which is used to to bond the layers of glass. As the device is exposed to air and used, evaporation occurs and the yellow splotches disappear.

The more I read about this indoctrination theory, the more the ending makes sense.  When you piece together all the things that were wrong about the ending, you will see that we as the gamer audience were indoctrinated by Bioware!  Just read this.

The levels are set for enemies for your first playthrough, but on your second playthrough, the enemies will scale to your level (and thus drop the best loot).

I really enjoyed all of the DLC (except for Crawmerax the Invincible in Secret Armory).  Claptrap's Robot Revolution was so funny at times, I had to pause the game because I was laughing so hard I couldn't control my mouse. smile

Yeah, I love the stasis bubble. But oh how I wish you could bubble a Geth Pyro...
You can get upgrades to the number of supplies you can bring with you up to 5 per, I think.  I can bring 4 Cobra Missiles, 4 Medi-gel, 5 Survival Packs, and 5 Ammo Packs.

You can't Stasis any armored enemies.  For Cerberus, you can't Stasis Atlas and Turrets.  For Geth, you can't Stasis Primes and Pyros.  For Reapers, you can't Stasis Banshees, Brutes, and Ravagers.  That pretty much goes for all Biotic crowd control powers.

Finally unlocked Asari Adept, but still waiting on a Quarian Engineer. I do think they need to re-evaluate the ratio of getting spare thermal clips to medi-gel in the boosters. I'm always out, or hoarding the last medi-gel, while I have 64 spare clips and counting.

Asari Adept is an awesome class especially when you evolve your Stasis with the bubble.  So much control and it helps a ton against gold level Cerberus (especially those pesky yet deadly Phantoms).  I wouldn't hold your breath too much for the Quarian Engineer.  The Sentry Turret is definitely lacking. frown  However, the Salarian Engineer's Decoy is pretty good.

Yeah, I do tend to get more thermal clips as well, but when you use a weapon like the Geth Plasma Shotgun, you'll be glad that you have lots of spare clips.  I burn through ammo like no one's business with that gun and most of the time it is when I am surrounded by enemies and not conveniently next to an ammo box.

I like a lot of points listed, Asharak.  The first two I really like.  I was pretty disappointed that they didn't follow the same vein as ME2 with the Collector Base.  Seeing the assets that you worked so hard to build actually participate in the war really should have been in the game.

I agree wholeheartedly with the epilogue point.  WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL MY SQUADMATES!?  As for Anderson, I'm pretty sure he died sitting next to Shepard in the Citadel control room.

The one thing I don't understand is why the ghost kid finally explains what the purpose of the Reapers were for while the Reapers themselves couldn't ever explain it?

I dunno, I would've just made the grenade launcher some very limited ammo-secondary weapon. I just don't understand the concept of a "rifle" that shoots (in nerfed form) wimpy, overly bouncy grenades that oddly don't seem to go as far as my tossed ones.

My last three PUGs have been disasters. Since my plans to see The Raid tomorrow are being rained out, Topper and I will probably get some games going early and late Saturday, fwiw.

So I thought I fixed my PC's frequent freezes with a video driver change but it started freezing the last couple mornings again. My pet theory now is that it's the Windows Sidebar (once I de-activate it and remove any sidebar programs, it doesn't seem to freeze), but I can't for the life of me fathom why that would be a problem after all these years.

I don't have the Falcon, but from what I saw of my brother using it, it looked really crazy pre-nerf.  The grenades went pretty far and accurate and again, the stagger on enemies was devastating.  Too bad you didn't get to experience it before the nerf. frown

I've had problems with the Windows Sidebar with several games, especially the ones from Bethesda (Fallout 3 and Skyrim) so I just keep it off.

Which means you can be sure the next Event class will be Geth.  icon_razz

Bring a character with Sabotage.

Which means bring the Quarian Infiltrator. smile  I got lucky and got the Valiant sniper rifle from my Commendation pack and my brother got one too!  So my Quarian Infiltrator has been kicking some serious butt. slywink

Also, Blackjack, the grenade assault rifle you got is the Falcon and before you got it from your Victory pack, it was the most overpowered gun in the game.  My brother and two other friends had it, and they basically lock down the entire map with it.  It got nerfed way too hard though.  The thing about the Falcon was that it staggered enemies and held a lot of ammo and reloaded quickly.  One Falcon could lock down a chokepoint easily.

Anywho, again, if you guys see me online, feel free to hit me up for a game or two.  My Origin ID is the same as my handle here.

The Galactic Readiness decays over time and it goes down a couple of percent per day whether you are playing or not.  When you play random maps, it goes up pretty quick.

I imported my ME2 saves into ME3 by just leaving the save games where they were.  The path was (your PC username)/Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/Save.  ME3 found my save games and I imported my characters with no problem.

Origin sent me the codes for the two weapons via e-mail with a link to get them...
