I just started playing the game last week... Is anyone else turned off by the nature of the explicit content? I know I've become more sensitive towards mature content in entertainment since getting married and living with my wife, but it seems way too vulgar. The strip clubs actually show bare breasts, the dialogue is pretty harsh (particularly when Trevor is talking), the violence is not as "cartoony" as it used to be with Trevor smashing people's heads in left and right.

Maybe I'm not remembering clearly, but I thought GTA IV was classier about its content.

The last 3 GTA games have always been this bad.  It always makes me uncomfortable.

So prior to this last August I was using itunes/iphone.  I have since upgrade my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S5.  I love it, but the only thing that I don't like is that it's hard to find something that works like itunes and how it manages the library.  What I usually do is I make a playlist and over time I take out any songs that shows a play count and add new songs to it.  It's how I refresh my music with new music that hasn't been heard in a while.  It worked great and perfectly.

The Samsung Galaxy has a decent built in music player on the phone, but not so much with the PC client.  I found programs like doubletwist and isyncr that claims it tracks play counts, but I can never get it to work.  I also have issues with syncing my playlists using doubletwist.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would work with I do? Or suggestions on how to fix my issue using doubletwist or isynchr?

Wow, this is just remarkable. Jed York went on KNBR radio this morning and was absolutely grilled quite aggressively by Brian Murphy, the morning host and ex-sports reporter for the SF Chronicle. He didn't hold back at all in his questioning and asked the tough questions everyone has been wondering. The result is York coming across as a total hypocrite and contradicting himself repeatedly. I give York credit for not hiding and trying to explain things from his perspective but holy crap, he might have been better off just not even going on the air.

In any case, here is the transcript in all its crazy glory:

Harbaugh’s Michigan contract is for about $5 million a year plus incentives, interim Michigan athletic director Jim Hackett said in an interview. That is roughly the same as his 49ers deal. Numerous recent reports had said that Michigan’s offer was for as much as $8 million annually.

“Jim insisted that he not be the highest-paid coach in college football, or even the Big Ten,” Hackett said. “I think that tells you something about his values.”

I saw a twitter quote from the guy who wrote the article stating that he rather his assistants be well paid than be the highest paid coach.

Ken did you ever think that maybe Harbaugh didn't want to stay?  He never signed an extension and by all accounts they tried to sign him to one the last two years.

Have you took the time to realize that maybe the 49ers didn't offer what he thinks he's worth?  I mean you do have one of the highest rated coaches coaching your team, that turned a mess of a team into a powerhouse in 1 years time.

Harbaugh knows that if the 49ers don't pay him, someone else will.  He's smart for not doing anything but wait.  He'll get paid for his final year, and then get paid at the new team.

I think no matter what they wanted to offer him he wanted to leave.

They just released their notice that the Niners and Harbaugh have mutually agreed to part ways and he is free to look for next gig without any constraints, so you are wrong about getting paid that final year.

I was wrong if I said it would be mutual.  Even more of a classy guy.  He could have fought tooth and nail and let the 49ers fire him and made bank.

49ers season in review.

You know it was going to bad season when all you heard was potential coaching changes, player misconduct, and holdouts during the offseason.  From Aldon Smith, Chris Culliver and Ray MacDonald getting into trouble while Vernon Davis and Alex Boone not showing up to work even though they are under contract.  Lots of dysfunction before the season even started.

Then there were injuries carried over from the previous season with some critical injuries taking place during preseason and throughout the season itself.  Not something easy to over come.  The 49ers Defense was able to plug in the gaps with missing players thanks to a deep skilled roster.  It was the offense that didn't have that luxury.  That hurt the most, and while the 49ers had upgraded some positions they were still not deep enough to overcome the injury bug, particularly the offensive line.

Then the distractions.  Player misconduct and the fate of Harbaugh was the constant source of distractions.  It's a fine line with dealing with adult professionals.  A team can't control what a person does off the field, and at the same time they shouldn't be responsible for it.  But it does affect the team should a player do something stupid, like shoot illegal guns off, or drive under the influence.  It's not the teams responsibility to make sure players behave, but it's their best interest to promote responsibility on and off the field.  I feel the 49ers failed to do that over the years.  But that's easier said than done.  And it greatly impacted the 49ers off the field, which in turn, affected how the 49ers would play based on availability on players.

Now the biggest distraction was Harbaugh's future.  This was fueled by the Media in their ever growing way of trying to make a story.  They also know that Harbaugh is rough around the edges and was essentially poking the bear so they can get a reaction.  I hate how sports media has become this way.  They are more like TMZ than Sporting News.  Places like www.profootballtalk.com makes their living off that.  There wasn't a week where Harbaugh wasn't in their "newsfeed" and usually with some snide comment.  I honestly don't know why I keep going there.  Part of me was hoping the media was wrong about Harbaugh leaving, but the last few weeks it became more apparent that it was going to happen.

And for that, the ownership are completely idiotic for letting him go. Ownership should grow up and leave the personal issues aside.  Look at what Harbaugh has done since coming in.  3 NFC Championship games, 1 Superbowl appearance, and a 43-19 record.  He turned the team around the first year being here.  Quirks aside, you are not going to find another coach like that for a long time, and it's a shame that the 49ers ownership forgets that.

Now onto football.

Offense:

It was a mess offensively. There are two things to blame.  Greg Roman's play calling, and the offensive line.  Yes the O'Line were riddled with injuries all year, but no matter who you are you have to do your job.  They couldn't defend against the rush, which gave Kaepernick no time and had a career high of being sacked.  The running game while not great nor bad could have been better, if the O'line could create lanes.  Again at one point due to injuries the 49ers constantly ran to the left which made them predictable.  I think if we had a healthy O'Line this would be a different story.

And then there's Greg Roman.  This year they spent alot of their free agency money on Wide Receivers.  With Crabtree, Boldin, Lloyd, and Stevie Johnson, that seemed like a great upgrade from what we had before.  Throw in Davis and that should give Defenses a hard time on picking who to cover.  But that didn't happen.  The 49ers became pass happy, causing teams to forget about the run and just cover the pass.  They were predictable and it got them nowhere.  When they had their success was when they ran first passed later.  Too many games this year they would go pass happy and it cost us the game.  Kaepernick isn't an accurate thrower, and Roman continued to call plays where he would throw it 20 yards down the sideline, always overthrowing or under throwing the ball.  If he wasn't throwing bad passes, he was being sacked.

Roman also failed to address the deficiencies on our pass protection.  Most teams would counter by throwing screens.  Not the 49ers, they either take the sack or throw it away.  Even dumping the ball off to a RB waiting on the outside would be beneficial than taking the sack.  People say Kaepernick had regressed, and while I think that's true, I think it's more true that the 49ers offense regressed.  It felt like I was watching Alex Smith play prior to Harbaugh coming in.

Lastly, every year this has been an issue, and it's a coaching issue.  Time Management.  For whatever reason, the 49ers have burnt so many time outs because they can't relay the call in time or that Kaepernick takes to long to read the defense and changes the play not in time.  I can understand this happening during Kaepernick's first year, but this happens every year, and this is a coaching issue that they have failed to address.

Defense:

While not perfect and not as good as years past, they played pretty well considering all the injuries they took.  It helps that they are deep with good players to fill in.  I would have like to see more of a pass rush.  Early on it was non-existent and seemed to get better over the weeks to come.  I think the 49ers defense will be back in shape next year.  I don't have much to say about the Defense other than they played well for the most part.

Summary:

It was a year of distractions and injuries with some incredible bad coaching.  While Harbaugh is the face of the 49ers, I don't think he's the blame.  I feel that Harbaugh's pride/ego got in the way to address Roman's coaching gaffes, and for that the 49ers suffered.  It's going to be interesting how the 49ers are next year.  If the 49ers don't get a high caliber coach next year I expect to see the same type of football we saw this year.  Maybe this year was a preview to come?

Harbaugh, you will be missed.

It's a lot better now than it was at launch. I'll cover ATBs post as its pretty comprehensive in its issues list.

Lag is much better. I honestly don't think I have any issues with lag at this point, which is a minor miracle given how the game launched.

I've always liked the maps, so that's a non issue for me. BLOPS2 had better maps, but after Ghosts awful maps this seems like a dream. I play objective based game modes so the spawn issues are very minor for me.

They fixed the HUD.

They've (mostly) fixed the gun balance issues and just about all types are viable now. There are definitely some stronger guns, but you can almost use whatever you want (aside from shotguns) and be effective. I have 6 classes with different weapons that I can use. Sure some (ASM-1, AK) are going to be better than others, but I can certainly run around with a 'lesser' gun and still have fun.

I've 'fixed' the kill streak issue by running ones with the Support modifier so I don't have to worry about dying and resetting.

Exos don't do much. I only use speed to get to an objective faster. Definitely a waste of time, but doesn't really detract from the game.

tl;dr version: I'm having fun with it now. It tends to be what I fire up when I do have time to game. It's *definitely* better than Ghosts and I'm drawn to it as much as I was to BLOPS2. I'm still not sure if it's worth $39.

How bout $29 Tongue  $29 is the digital version.  I'm assuming you're playing this on the ps4?

Yep except the defense I guess, 3rd in the league.  Did someone email out the offensive play book to the other teams this year?  It looks like everybody has figured out the Niners scheme.

Everytime 49ers does the read option the defense sniffs it out.  It happened yesterday, happened against the Raiders, and many other times.  The 49ers read option is outplayed.  The 49ers need to develop Kap into a normal QB, because it's going to get worse.  You can only do that for so long until it's figured out.  Ask Vick.

I don't mean to criticize this, by the way, as I know some people love this, but all the dialogue just gets overwhelming sometimes.

If they hire Jim Tomsula as the head coach, then we'll know all they wanted was a 'yes man'. Now if they go out and get someone like Sean Payton, then maybe there's hope.

Problem is we have no freaking idea what they are thinking. Baalke talks like there is nothing wrong with the relationship with Harbaugh and other than the infamous Thanksgiving night tweet, who knows what wonderboy Jed York is thinking. I thought maybe he'd be different and be more like Eddie D, but in the end he's coming across as just another clueless York family member.

I agree that it's crazy to fire Harbaugh over what amounts to butt hurt feelings but it doesn't help their cause when he and Kaepernick are so openly defiant and often hostile to the local media. As a fan I want to understand things from their perspective both in good times and bad times, but it's hard to sympathize with either of them at this point.

I'd be hostile too.  The media who covers the 49ers and the national media asks the most stupid questions and does their best to get a reaction out of Jim and Kaepernick.   They know Harbaugh could go off the handle at any time and to have that be their exclusive would be huge ratings.

I don't know if you visit Profootballtalk.com, but Mike Florio makes a living off of it.  I don't feel sorry for the media.  They brought it on themselves for being asses.
