Can you add a poll choice that states "I use the show unread posts since last visit button"?  This allows me to see all the new topics wherever they may be started, a true boon to my GT surfing.

No, because it's already there.

Look at the top of the page... See your avatar?  To the right of that, you should see, Show unread posts since last visit.  Whalla!

BTW, the sports forum will be merged.  There's some behind the scene stuff going on right now, we were aiming for this weekend, but that might change.

After reading this entire thread (which has been interesting), I hope that hating on Halo 3 isn't becoming the "cool" thing to do. Sure, maybe it isn't the perfect game, but some of the comments about perceived negatives with the game make me kind of chuckle when you consider some of the real crap that gets released, that we all end up buying.

I don't hate it, I just don't think it's all that special compared to other FPS games.  It's as if it's the first FPS to have smart AI.  It's not, and Halo 1 and Halo 2, the level design was horrid and repetitious.  I have halo 3 now, but not far enough to determine if it's repetitive.

Well, I just got back from Lake Tahoe this weekend to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, so I stayed away from football until I got home.

Watched the niners take the opening drive, and they looked great. You could tell their play calling was much better from the previous games and didn't look as conservative. They kept up that style, unfortunately, the defense couldn't handle Big Ben nor their special teams and eventually let the game get away from them.

They took Gore out of the game early on, and they mechanically picked away at the Niner's D.

One thing I do have to say and it changed the momentum of the game for the 49ers, was the rediculous call from the refs in regards to Vernon Davis' catch. How in the world can they claim that it was an imcomplete pass. Looks like to me, they didn't know what to do, and just called that incomplete so that nobody can benefit. That's my only complaint of the game. Overall I don't think it would have mattered too much, but I think at that point is when the niners lost it.

I'll agree with your assessment of the particular call. Weak cop out.  Piss off one team or the other, but tell one version of the truth and face the rules committee review about your call later.

The Niners, however, lost the game when they went into the Steeler's half of the field twice and came away with only 6 total points on the scoring opportunities it gave them in the first half, or when they failed to stop a kick returner.  You can even blame how they later chose to use man coverage, a bad matchup for them on the Tight Ends of Pittsburgh.  However, you can't blame that one awkwardly called play.  That play was at best a 7 point swing, not 21.

I take that back, you can blame it, but you're not being honest about the game you watched if you do.  Some Fans do that.

Someday, the Steelers will win a game and it won't be because the other team sucked or the other team dropped balls or the other team is injured.  Those things happen in the NFL at times.  The good teams win those games despite any of these influences.

I don't recall blaming the game on that call, what I did say, was that they lost their momentum after that.  You're exactly right, they lost the game because they couldn't score a TD during their 3 trips to the red zone.

I thought I was pretty clear on that.  I knew going in that the steelers would win, they have a complete team, compared to the niners.

Well I got it pre-ordered.  It's only going to cost me $25 after the block buster deal and my trade in.  Then I get a $10 gift card to use on a different purchase.  I know I'll get close to full price off of Ebay if I don't like it.
3849  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: GT Tournament [Madden 360] (Round 1 underway) on: September 25, 2007, 01:57:53 AM
Ok looks like only one game has been played.  Come on slackers, CC and I were suprised nobody has played yet, considering I was on vacation and thought we'd be the last to post our scores.

The 49ers started off the game with a fumble on the opening kick off.  I challenged the call and got it reversed.  But that didn't stop me from making turnovers.  The next play, the cowboys took out Frank Gore for the game, leaving Michael Robinson to carry the load.

The game was close during the first half with the 49ers leading 10-7.  The 49ers made an incredible but lucky stop as the last seconds of the 1st half ran down.  With 9 seconds on the clock, Tony Homo, I mean Romo, bootlegged his right to find his Tight End Whitten practically open.  The corner back who was defending the TE went for the INT only to miss, leaving Whitten a clear path to the endzone with half of the 49ers D chasing him.  Out of pure desperation the 49ers made  hail mary of a dive and miraculously tackled Whitten at the 1 yard line keeping him out of the endzone and taking the lead at the half.

After the half, the 49ers extended their lead after an INT.  Each team made some costly INT which kept the game close.  The cowboys manages to tie the game late in the 4th quarter forcing the game to OT.  The 49ers won the toss, and made a costly INT at the 40 yard line which was returned to the SF 15 yard line.  1 play later the cowboys kick the game winning FG, ending the chances of the 49ers to move on.

Cowboys 20 - 49ers 17.

We didn't play ranked, so I don't have the stats.

So, now I hear that they reuse the same levels.  I hated this in Halo 1.  Halo2 didn't really suffer from it, but it was extremely apparent in Halo1.

I went from now caring, to slightly interested as in trading in Forza 2 at BB for $35 to put towards it, to now, second guessing if I should get it.

I probably will because it's going to cost $15 after the credit, and I get a $10 gift card for buying it at BB.  I'll probably just sale it or trade it in if I don't like it.

Ok Raiders win by using the same tactic as the Broncos (calling a TO before the Fg). So I don't want to be hearing from the few Raiders fan how cool and tricky they were, when last week they were crying poor me, and complaining about the same play that happened against them the week before.

Merry Christmas.

Like I said in your thread, I didn't realize that other games like Forza2 and Dirt were posted in the console forum.

I honestly don't see what's so difficult to distinguish what's a sports game and what's not.

Had I noticed at the time that Forza and Dirt was posted in the console forum, I'd move those too.

Now that the sports forum will probably be removed, I'll move this thread, and merge with Ridah's.

We haven't been told to not move them, and there really hasn't been any discussion other than the meta forum.  I thought it's business as usual until told otherwise.

Since 1998, the 49ers have never been 2-0, until today.
Talk about two ugly wins. Doesn't matter how many weapons you have, the niners finds ways to win. Wow Bulger had a great time against the Niner's D, he was hit at least 11 times and sacked at least 5 times. Olando Pace is sure missed.

Note to Rams, when it's 4th's and 1, instead of trying to strip the ball, try to tackle instead. Thanks to your ineptitude, Gore ran it at least 40 yards for a TD.

Next up, Steelers.

3863  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Mr. Woodcock on: September 15, 2007, 07:52:06 PM
Erin graduated from college this summer and one of her gifts, she recieved two movie tickets and dinner at chili's.  We don't go out much so it was nice to have a date night and not have to worry about $$$.  Earlier this month we went to see The Nanny Diaries, and it was actually was funny, and had Scarlet Johanson, so I didn't mind going dispite it being a chick flick.  Erin is a Nanny and she had read the book, so it was especially fun for her, she could relate to what happened, and she got to compare the book with the movie.  She said it followed pretty close to the book.

Well we went out again yesterday and she didn't see anything that interest you, so we used her gift card to see Mr. Woodcock.  After seeing the previews the past couple of weeks, I wanted to see it.  Based on what I saw it looked funny, and I kept imagining the scenarios it might have, however in the back of my head I had a nagging feeling that this was going to suck.  I forgot to check on the reviews, and boy I made a mistake.

Basically what you saw in the previews were the funny parts.  They missed horribly on some of the gags.  Like when Stiffler dips Thornton's PE whistle in the toilet.  They show him blow on the whistle later, but the audience wasn't rewarded with Thornton's reaction.  There were some funny moments, but most were chuckle worthy.  Everything felt held back.

The quotes from RT are pretty dead on.  I guess being 87 mins long, I should consider myself lucky.  About 30 mins into I told whispered to Erin, this movie is slow and so far sucks.  It never did improve.

While the movie blew, we enjoyed our time together at Chili's and the rest of the day.

her skin and produce the effect of a brand new face-lift  Of course, the woman wanted "The Knob."    Over the course of the years, the woman tightened the knob, and the effects were wonderful, the  woman

everything has been working just fine. I've had to turn the knob many
times and I've always loved the results. But now I've developed two
annoying problems: First, I have these terrible bags under my eyes
and the knob won't get rid of them." The doctor looked at her closely and said, "Those aren't bags, those are your breasts." She said, "Well, I guess there's no point in asking about the goatee.

Well, the landlord called today and told me that the water bill is now set to his name, with my name on the account as well. Apparently the previous owner never stopped service, and they continued to pay for the service the last 8 months. So now the water company is going to credit them for the money they spent, and now they will have us pay for it.

I'm thinking they didn't realize this till now, which is why I got the warning. I don't know how much the bill is yet, we're waiting on them to figure that out. But I was told they are willing to set up a payment plan. It shouldn't be more than $300, I'll probably just pay it up front to get done with it.
