Man I can't wait.  I loved SC.

What gets me, people are complaining about the graphics.  Do you not remember what SC looked like, it was a complaint back then, but the gameplay overrode those complaints.  Blizzard has never been known to have good graphics.  EVER.  They are known for great gameplay, balanced units, and overall, a fun game to play.

Here's my comment (and vague attempt to get things somewhat back on topic):

Falwell was pretty rabidly anti-gay but doesn't the Catholic Church also consider homosexual behavior a sin?  I'm surprised to see you so vigorously defending Catholicism Kirk.  I don't see them too far removed from where Falwell stood unlike, for example, the United Church of Christ or several other Protestant denominations.

I was going to ask that question (without the links) but wasn't sure if it was too personal, and didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.  (not that I'm saying you are doing that Tongue )

You have some serious personality problems, man.

And you're a coward who flees and whines whenever anyone demands that you provide support for your asinine positions. Hey, some of us are still waiting to hear just how, precisely, the Democratic Congress could have held Nixon accountable after he'd resigned and been pardoned. You bolted that thread so fast after being asked to explain that nonsense that it made heads spin.

I'm done with you.

Excellent. I win.

Wow... this guy just doesn't know when to quit, does he?

Does anyone know if Kirk is actually RunningMan9?  They seem to have the exact same asshat qualities.

I'll assume you didn't see my post, so I'll give it a last warning.  Get back on topic, and lay off the personal attacks.

Ok, this thread has gone way off topic.  Please go back to making fun of the death of Falwell Tongue

If you like to discuss whether or not Catholicism is fake, or whatever you are talking about, please create a new thread.  Thank you.

3733  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Halo 3 = September 25 on: May 16, 2007, 03:59:38 PM
I never understood why Halo has suceeded.  The level repetiveness just ruins the game for me.  It's too cookie cutter and shows no creativity or uniqueness.  Even the enemies are limited as far as variety goes.  I think the few things that really grabs people are the multiplayer, sound, character and the weapons.

I know it's a breakout game for consoles, but translated on to a PC, it's very mediocre.  been there done that.

1: I'm no supporter of this person.  I'm a christian, he's totally misrepresents what a Christian is.

2: I'm fully aware of Falwell's character, and understand why many people don't like him.

3: I received a report from a user stating that the thread was in bad taste.  I was trying to guide the thread from going down that path.

4: When a user delibertely states that he won't follow the warning, that's where I gave my warning of if the thread gets out of hand (I shouldn't have said continued) then I would lock it.

I'm sorry--respect is earned.  Jerry Falwell earned no respect with his bigoted life.

And I see nothing about "respect for the dead" in the CoC.

Has anyone heard anything about Iron Horse Mountain Bikes.  This guy on craigslist was selling a Trek 720 for $75, and a Iron Horse for 100.  I'm meeting with him tomorrow to look at it, and he agreed to $80 for the Iron Horse.  The trek had already sold.  I don't know the model, since he was at work when I called, but in general how's the Iron Horse.

Looking at the above example posts, I'm having a hard time finding any justifcation for it. So he had some 'pirated' dreamcast software for sale with his dreamcast system, but when it was brought to attention, he asked the thread to be locked.

A joke about Hetz? Wow..

And finally calling an old lady who ran into (and possibly killed) a guy an "old cunt"? I guess that could be considered inappropriate (we're all civilized adults here, at least I think) but is that grounds for being banned?
Did anyone honestly really take any offense to that?

It's one thing to ban the Crowleys who come here posting 'goatsee' crap or pictures of animals, but to ban long-standing members of the community to what seem like such small offenses, IMO, is taking it too far.
Of course I'm not a mod and this isn't my board (so I completely respect what Ron & crew do with their house) but at the same time, it's not too hard to tell when someone is a real problem around here and actually deserves to be banned.
To me personally, Kobra didn't seem like one of those people.

Just my 2 cents.

Kobra wasn't banned for a single incident.  It was a series of actions that had taken place over time.  A few months back we modified the COC to add/change some rules, and added a guideline to what would happen if a person broke these rules.  Everyone got an email from the boards of these changes, and they have been posted on the forums.

We didn't go out of our way to try to get Kobra off these boards.  The same goes for Hetz when he was banned.  It was a series of events that caused it.  Kobra had many warnings about his demeanor here.  As warning stated earlier, once  you get a warning or temp ban, mods will pay more attention to that person.

There has been some people who have been banned, came back, and since has had no problems with the community.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case for Kobra.

3749  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / So I broke my brother in law's finger in 3 places yesterday on: May 06, 2007, 05:52:30 PM
Last night we had the in-laws over for an early mother's day gathering.  My brother in law and his son brought over the football, and we throwing it around after dinner.

I threw the ball to my Brother in Law and it jammed his finger.   We ended up playing another 30 mins thinking it was just dislocated finger.  When we got inside we checked the damage and his finger was really swollen.  We still figured it was dislocated, he even popped it back in place.  This morning he went to the doctor, and turns out I broke his finger in 3 places.

I think I need to try out for the niners.  I always had a good arm and decent aim.

Blake is pretty good, he won't win, but he's good.  At first he heavily relied on the beat box, and I'm glad he held back, because it was quickly becoming old.  He brought it back at the best moment.  However, he doesn't have the talent to be #1.  Melinda or Jordan will win it.
