Sorry Niners for wrecking your playoff chances.

Trust me you didn't wreck it.  That was called implosion.  From coach to QB

Yep except the defense I guess, 3rd in the league.  Did someone email out the offensive play book to the other teams this year?  It looks like everybody has figured out the Niners scheme.

Everytime 49ers does the read option the defense sniffs it out.  It happened yesterday, happened against the Raiders, and many other times.  The 49ers read option is outplayed.  The 49ers need to develop Kap into a normal QB, because it's going to get worse.  You can only do that for so long until it's figured out.  Ask Vick.

Hours later, I got back to Haven and realized I'd have to talk to everyone again.  It was too much.  Honestly, I can appreciate all the backstory they put into these games, but I rarely have the patience for it.  I stopped doing more than skimming books in DA:O pretty quickly, and even now I find my attention drifting when someone is telling me their life story.  It's not even that it's not interesting.  It is, but there's just soooo much of it.

I'm feeling the same way.  I wouldn't have minded back in the day when I spent 5 hrs gaming every night but when you have limited time and Dorian is yapping on and on through deeper and deeper dialog trees, it gets tiring.  And I know it's partly my fault since I don't really have to exhaust every talk option but I have to be a completionist.

Yeah, there's nothing like clicking on the last little subject in a lengthy discussion only to find a new option pop up after that chat with {Investigate} and behind that, five more options.

I don't mean to criticize this, by the way, as I know some people love this, but all the dialogue just gets overwhelming sometimes.

Ya it's too much.  Then there's all those books and letters you can find to read.  Boring!  Skryrim does it too.

I'd rather see all of that in some sort cutscene.

If they hire Jim Tomsula as the head coach, then we'll know all they wanted was a 'yes man'. Now if they go out and get someone like Sean Payton, then maybe there's hope.

Problem is we have no freaking idea what they are thinking. Baalke talks like there is nothing wrong with the relationship with Harbaugh and other than the infamous Thanksgiving night tweet, who knows what wonderboy Jed York is thinking. I thought maybe he'd be different and be more like Eddie D, but in the end he's coming across as just another clueless York family member.

I agree that it's crazy to fire Harbaugh over what amounts to butt hurt feelings but it doesn't help their cause when he and Kaepernick are so openly defiant and often hostile to the local media. As a fan I want to understand things from their perspective both in good times and bad times, but it's hard to sympathize with either of them at this point.

I'd be hostile too.  The media who covers the 49ers and the national media asks the most stupid questions and does their best to get a reaction out of Jim and Kaepernick.   They know Harbaugh could go off the handle at any time and to have that be their exclusive would be huge ratings.

I don't know if you visit Profootballtalk.com, but Mike Florio makes a living off of it.  I don't feel sorry for the media.  They brought it on themselves for being asses.

So throw away $$$, success, and overall good coaching (this  year excluded) because people can't be professional.  As ATB said, short sighted.  They won't understand how big of a mistake it will be until he's gone.

49ers are officially done in my book.  Next year the 49ers will foolishly let Harbaugh leave and the 49ers will be back to being a 4-6 win team with a mediocre to horrible coach.  And the media/fans will be the ones to blame.

The owner is squarely to blame (with some credit to Trent Baalke). They don't like Harbaugh. It's insane.

Harbaugh didn't help himself by coaching like shit this year and standing by and/or not overuling Roman. Note it is Harbaugh that calls the plays into Kaepernick, not Roman... he could have fixed some of this.

That being said, firing Harbaugh because you don't like him and he had one down year is ludicrous, given a lack of better options. But thats exactly where we are going.

My biggest concern is my wallet: my tickets are harder to sell and the PSLs that are going to be more and more difficult to transfer if the team is fucking awful.

Yep if we're heading back to the Pre-Harbaugh days with a 6 win season, good luck on dumping tickets without taking a loss.

That's the only thing the 49ers won this season.  Milking their fan base.

I could only commit to watching 1 game today and that was Hawks vs Eagles . So someone please explain to how the 49ers managrd to lose to the Raiders?!  icon_eek

well, lets sit down and I'll tell you a story...

First there's a guy named Greg Roman.  Players like Staley and Boone hailed him as an Evil Genius.  But that was right after beating the Bills 52-3 or something 26 months ago.  They keep forgetting that they were playing against the Bills (sorry ATB).  Well fast forward this year, and they upgraded their offense by signing some decent speedy/good hands receivers, and yet he managed to make our offense look like the days of Ericson,Nolan & Singletary games.  Horrible play calling, not adjusting to what the defense is doing, and overall just bad coaching.  But people want to blame Harbaugh.  He's the face, he's the easy target, but if people stopped to look deeper you'll see it's more than Harbaugh's quirkiness, it's the offensive coordinator inability to do his job.

So to answer your question, most of the problem was the OC, and Kapernick.  Then add the fact that our offensive line sucked, and we couldn't pressure Carr to make mistakes.  The OC keeps thinking that the 49ers is a pass happy team who has a QB who can throw the ball accuratetely.  Well, that's not the case.  He may have the arm (didn't see it today, he through a lot of passes that felt short). They also quickly abandoned the run which is their bread and butter.  This has been a problem all year and they have yet to learn from their mistakes.

49ers are officially done in my book.  Next year the 49ers will foolishly let Harbaugh leave and the 49ers will be back to being a 4-6 win team with a mediocre to horrible coach.  And the media/fans will be the ones to blame.

Funny at around the 1:40 mark you see Nathan jump across a cliff to grab onto a ledge.  Prior to jumping he had a flashlight in his hands, and in mid air he was able to strap the flashlight to his belt and catch the edge to shimmy himself up.

I'm cutting the cord this Tuesday (Right after Sons of Anarchy)

I made a HTPC that has a duel HD tv Tuner, 2 3TB hard drive 1 120GB SSD.  The tuner card is hooked up to my HDTV attenae that cost $40.  I have a bunch of movies on plex, local channels, hulu plus, and for now redbox.  We might switch out hulu plus for netflix.

Upfront it was expensive, but after a year the savings from no subscription TV will pay off the purchase of the HTPC and parts.

With that said here's your answers...

Quote
1:What are your biggest concerns when it comes to TV viewing?
Too many garbage channels that not many people care to watch for a high cost.  I don't care if I have 200 channels if 2/3rds of them are shopping, music, religious, or other channels I'm not interested in

Quote
For those that have "cut the cord" are you happy with the decision?  What, if anything, would it take to make you come back to some sort of cable/satellite provider?  Do the new "a la carte" options from HBO, CBS, etc change the outlook on your current setup?  Some context on the type of viewer you are might also be helpful in the discussion, i.e. do you watch alot of sports, how much broadcast TV do you watch a week, etc...

I haven't fully cut the cord yet.  I've had my system up for a month (fine tuning) so I haven't fully experienced it yet.  But I do know there's sacrifices.  Such as multiple interfaces, making it easy for the wife and kids to use.  Lack of free channels.

A la Carte would need to be reasonable.  I can easily see that option being the same or higher than what we're used to now.  I rather have the tv providers offer a package where you have a choice of 5, 10, 15 etc... channels at a set price.  Prices would need to be reasonable.  But that will never happen because of the networks.

what do you think he's going to say.  My offensive coordinator sucks?

While that may be true, that's not going to be told in public.

You have to take what the media says with a grain of salt.  Their sole interest isn't the state of the team, they want to get a reaction out of Harbaugh.  It's sad.

If you don't already have it, you might be better off with the original Disney Infinity, which has worlds from Pirates of The Caribbean, Monsters University, and The Incredibles, with Cars, Toy Story, and The Lone Ranger sets available separately.  Disney Infinity 2.0 only comes with the Marvel world, with Spiderman and Guardians of The Galaxy sets available separately.  There are also a wide range of various Disney characters available, but these are only usable in the Toy Box creation mode, which I would think would be too advanced for a 5 year old.

is there a huge disparity in terms of what 2.0 offers vs the original?  I mean future proofing is good, it's just that he's just starting out.

So we're thinking of getting this for my 5 year old.  I have a couple of questions...

1: Is it too old for him?  The marvel version seems more older kid suited.  More violent etc
2: He doesn't really identify with marvel.  He knows spiderman, but that's about it.
3: Is there a disney character version where he could better identify with?  I see there's an disney original version but the starting characters are characters he doesn't care or know about.

There's definitely an extra coat of polish on the graphics and all the 3D elements. They also did a great job at adding a lot of different areas. So you don't feel like your sticking around the same place. The problem is most of what I've "played" so far has been choosing dialogue and quick-time events. Really only had time to walk around three times and it was very brief. And 0 puzzles to solve so far.

No huge laugh out loud moments but I've laughed a bit here and there. The story seems ok but nothing great yet. It does seem like its taking its time with introducing the main characters to the player, which is fine given the episodic format.
