I just DL'ed a PC game (I know!) because my left thumb is in pretty bad shape - I thought I'd spread the pain to my right hand by playing a point-and-click game for awhile. Oh, well, pain is my middle name! I'll be grabbing Avatar Legends for sure, today; what's not to love about a 240 point Avatar game?
BTW Myto, that quote in your sig is from the very quote worthy Mark Twain, or Samuel Clemens if you prefer.
Huh, I'm not certain (because I'm never sure) but I don't think I ever knew that. I'm glad to know that I was stealing from such an eminent quote-worthy author.
I got the same email, btw, as Bullwinkle did, so I'm guessing everyone will, or at least the people who have given Sony their email address. I'm pretty sure no one would actually want my identity, but you never know...
Thanks for that link, Rick. I was getting ready to plug SR into my Dreamcast just for that intro... and now that I see all the other videos there, I'll be watching them as well. What great memories!

I'd absolutely be in for this. The Legacy of Kain series is what got my wife into gaming. How can I argue with that??
I won't argue, I loved Soul Reaver on the Dreamcast. I can't wait to see if the reboot utilizes two analogue sticks. The only thing I didn't like about the game was the single stick camera, if they fix that I'm definitely IN!
SNES Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (what did games cost back then, $20?); Final Fantasy XI, for almost 2 years - at $19 a month, plus cost of game, but not including the cost of XBox Live Gold - oh, about $500; Final Fantasy XII - $60; Final Fantasy XIII - $60; Final Fantasy IX, PSN download - can't remember and can't access the account - maybe $20; Final Fantasy IX - used copy, bought when FFIX from PSN turned out to be postage-stamp sized - $12.
I have a shirt that says "Citizen of Bastok" - but that was a gift, so no outlay for that.
I'd say, I love Final Fantasy about this much: $688.
No, that percentage is the level of their fault for every RRoD failure...

There is agreat summary of the entire PSN fiasco, linked on The Front Page - well done, Mr. Evans! It won't make you feel any better, but it details the entire misadventure quite nicely.
Well, that's the last time I try to complement anyone here about anything at all! Okay, that's not true, I can't help myself.
Quote from: Razgon on May 21, 2011, 05:55:00 PM
Yeah, we discussed it a few pages back - Honestly, it's a lot of speculation and some misinformation as well in there as a few commented a few pages back - it's not something I expected ever to see at the front of Gamingtrend.com
It seems to me that the article wasn't thoroughly discussed a few pages back, but I'm pretty sure it has been now, lol.
Btw, just an "informational aside": hackers come in all stripes - I happen to have hackers in my brain; they are called mitochondria... and they make my sig absolutely correct for me. I usually read everything in any thread I post in, but not all of it hangs around for later retrieval. Though I can't seem to make a thread, myself, that results in thorough discussion, I must have a talent for dropping in a single comment that sets the prairie on fire. I guess that is my own, very unique, contribution to this community - You're Welcome!

I'm still waiting to update/ upgrade my PSP and my second account on my PS3; it looks like I can't go further for awhile. At least Sony is still sorry about the whole thing, though.
There is agreat summary of the entire PSN fiasco, linked on The Front Page - well done, Mr. Evans! It won't make you feel any better, but it details the entire misadventure quite nicely.
Now, I'm going back to trying to remember my password for connecting the PSP online, sigh...
Speaking of sleep, I tried to sleep through The Rapture, knowing I'd still be here in the morning - but Dungeon Lair (iPod) had other plans for me. Many hours too late, I realized that I hadn't heard any thunder or felt the ground shaking, sooo I guess it was another bust for Mr. Predicter Guy. I'm going to force myself to play Dragon Age 2 for most of the rest of the weekend, but there was no hope last night.
Oh, my, look what happens when you aren't looking. I'm Digitally Enhanced alright. Usually I game with both thumbs and two fingers taped into "gaming position," a tennis elbow brace on my left arm, and sometimes ice packs from wrist to elbow...
Enhanced you say? And here I've been calling it pitiful, lmao. I'll call it Eenhanced from now on!
And I can't laugh back; I had to dust off the PSP - then after the resultant coughing fit, I tried to power it up. Did you know that you have to plug them in more than twice a year? Imagine that! Btw, I only knew where it was because I had previously set up every handheld unit in one place, complete with sorted-out cords. I remember it taking me awhile to locate both PSP parts, and that the unit was Doornail City then, too. I charged it up, then unplugged it however long ago that was...

Hmmm. I already own infamous and LBP but would almost like to have digital copies to avoid the bd read speed. That got me thinking I have 2 ps3s with their own accounts, whats stopping me from sharing the free games between the 2 like I have always done with my purchases? Getting 4 instead of 2?
I have two accounts on one PS3; if they allow it, I'll get four as well. We figured we'd share them by changing accounts when needed. That will leave me with no decision whatsoever, since there are only 4 games available in the U.S. Easy!
From Metal's link, it looks like "we" (N. America) get a bit more, if I understand this correctly:
Quote
In North America, Sony will also offer a selection of to-be-announced "On Us" movie rentals "available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available." PlayStation Home fans will also receive "100 free virtual items" and an "exclusive game," Ooblag's Alien Casino, in North America.
Now, it's on to the PSP - hopefully I still remember where the ON switch is.
My points jumped too, and now there's another offer to gain 200 points by:

Join Bing Rewards and Earn 200 Microsoft Points.

I'm waiting, somewhat patiently, for Avatar Legends - that's just enough incentive to pass on new games, this week anyway. I've discovered that if you don't enter any GT Impression threads, you're relatively safe from the Forum Effect... relatively.
But don't you notice how many times those threads pop to the top of the list, begging you to take a look. Just one little look, myto. It can't hurt to look, can it?

Hey, quick tip. Maybe find the bugs before submitting?
The scary thing is that they thought they had... hopefully the peers will do a better job of review than the developer and testers have done so far. Remember Donna Sue?
Quote
As disapointing as this may seem do not fret Donna Sue because the extra 7 days of testing were used to clean up a few areas of the game that needed some TLC.

actually I think it's Leo who's got a man crush on inFamous.

Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty (Europe only)
NNOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! that's the only game I'd want off of that list.
and I just got rid of my PSP. 2 US PSP games should be worth 1 European PS3 game, right?
This is going to be tough, R & C would have been a lock as a game for family and friends, not so much me (platformers, uggh) but free is free, after all.
I hope there are GT reviews or Impressions threads on all of the games, since I haven't a clue about most of those games. And... even I have Little Big Planet for the PS3 already. Two down...

whenever I am not playing Dungeon Raid on the iPod, thanks to that silly iPod thread.
And Dungeon Raid snags yet another unwary victim.
Yup, busted!
It took me "longer than a seven year old" to learn the game, but once I got rolling, I became a convert. I guess I've never played any "match 3" games before, so it was a nice surprise. Now, if only I could stop seeing skulls, swords, coins, and potions behind my eyelids at night...
I'll be playing Dragon Age 2 as well - whenever I am not playing Dungeon Raid on the iPod, thanks to that silly iPod thread.
Oh, I mispelled it. It's acuity. It means 'sharpness or keenness of thought or vision'. If I play games for too long, I feel that I become mindless and unable to focus on other tasks or other objectives.
Oh, that! I haven't possessed that for years now. Evidence that I'm correct: I didn't notice the misspelling of "accuity" - even with spell check on; it's just that I no longer exhibit "sharpness or keenness of thought or vision"... sigh.
But I did note that you misspelled "mispelled" - oh, yeah!
But don't let me stop you all from panicking. What would be the fun in that?
who's panicing? we're just making fun of Sony at this point.
It's not like many of us didn't make fun of MS during the RRoD fiasco, deservedly so. I don't hate either of them, but Sony sure is making it tough to actually feel neutral toward them during this mess. My favorite quote from the only Sony email I received:
Quote
Sony takes information protection very seriously and will continue to work to ensure that additional measures are taken to protect personally identifiable information.
Right... well, now they do. I've got my account that I used for PSN down to $11, so I don't have to:

This looks pretty amusing. Only thing I can't tell is are there varying skills/spells/loot and if so, how much? Or do you just run around and hit stuff with the same sword and shield?
There is at least magic and spells in the game - the intro videos show the dude in the bowler hat casting fire and lightning. Also, you aren't left with only the wooden sword; there is leveling, gold, and weapon upgrades.
Having gone through playing Fallout: New Vegas - after at least one patch, but before at least another patch... let's just say that I'd prefer to wait. Actually, I'd really prefer the game to be on time, but only if it comes bug-free, so I can be patient, somewhat.
My guilty pleasure was Costume Quest on the XBLA - I loved that game, and its DLC.
Huh, I was just looking at that yesterday and wondering if it was fun (as if I don't have too many games to play already.)
Dr. Mario and Limbo are my favorites. I haven't gotten very far in Limbo, because we keep showing it to people who drop by; I've probably seen the first hour of the game about a dozen times. With Dr. Mario, despite owning it for the NES and the SNES, we also DL'ed it to the Wii so we'd have it on three consoles.
I had a launch 360 that 3 ringed last spring. I sent it back and got a replacement. Yesterday i got the 2 ring error. I've read that the 2 rings is an overheating issue. However, i've tried letting it cool several times since yesterday and it will immediately 2 ring after maybe 10 minutes of play.
I had a two-ring error a few years ago, all it required was resetting the cables and cords. I can't remember, but I think it was two different colors, maybe orange-and-something.
Complements of Llamma.com - more than you ever wanted to know about ring codes and links on how to fix them - some repairs are easy, some are more "complex and scary." If your 360 is old and broken and you are tired of talking to MS, that might be a good time to give these a shot.

I think this thread is basically dead, Myto. The time for signing up has now passed.
Yeah I just wanted to update on my disc finally arriving.
Yikes, that is how far behind I am on gaming news these days. You both saved me a ton of reading though, so now I can return to Dungeon Raid and Dragon Age 2 with a (semi)-clear conscience. Thanks!
Sounds good to me, but I have to put my two cents in here, so I can be notified of new posts... since I've been forgetting over and over to read this thread from the start. I'm hoping I will catch up on it tomorrow ( . )
Well, While playing portal 2 with my brother, it locked up. We rebooted to be greeted to 3 red rings. Turned it off for awhile, and turned it back on and it works. After dealing with dvd reading errors, and now this, I'm on borrowed time.
You think the prices will be lowered by E3?
I have no idea about E3 (yup, I'm ignorant) - but I'm curious about your Fraternity membership... was this a launch unit? If so, I'd get a lottery ticket, because you are very, very lucky! I am too, imo, since I had two launch units working well for about 5 years. When they started to fail, it was one part here, one there - like HD on one of them, console on the other. I gave one of the HD's to a GT member, but I still have two "dead, or dead-ish" consoles that I thought I might take a stab at fixing. Luckily, I won't have to deal with that, because I just found out that a nephew of mine no longer has any video games in his life, so I'm giving them to him for whatever might work to get him another gaming system - he can tinker with them, sell on eBay,etc., it doesn't matter to me; it will be two pieces of "stuff" that gets cleared out of my house!
Btw, for awhile, one of the failing consoles wouldn't play games - but would act as a DVD player, so if you are short of those...
Damn, but I envy all of you gaming-multi-taskers! I can play a non-console game only at the same time as I'm playing a stylus or mouse game. If I try to play two console games at once, I'm hitting all the wrong buttons in both.
In keeping with that, I've been playing Dungeon Raid on the iPod so far this weekend - but I have a lot of time on Sunday that I hope to spend with Dragon Age 2.
Okay, let's see - Dragon Age 2 now, Avatar Legends "soon" - and Skyrim in November? It's possible (even for me), though I probably should stop reading the Console Gaming Forum. Evil people lurk there, talking up all their shiny new games and pre-release presents.

Looks great,i was telling Myto that instead of Fallout it looks more like Borderlands(without the cel shading type graphics),especially the vehicles and some of those fight scenes look like some of the same locations in BL
It does look great, and it reminds me of a bit of Fallout with a serving of Borderlands - spiced with a healthy dash of Riddick. Please don't tell me this game is coming out anytime between Avatar Legends and Skyrim! Oh well, eating and sleeping are highly overrated...
I'll make this an "aside" since we've strayed off the thread rails (my fault!):
Spoiler for Hiden:
But remember, if he does that again, just think of how much he will feel he owes us! Okay, me, since you are both great players, but still, I'd take advantage of it in a heartbeat.
Now, remind me exactly what it is that you don't like about MMOs - and, for the record - how long did you play FFXI?
