4881  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / And I'll take your dusty DREAMCAST stuff (good idea, LANER)! on: October 16, 2004, 09:49:04 PM
lildrgn,

thanks so much for the reference!  it was unlooked-for and so even more appreciated!

and for the record, lildrgn is an awsome trader too!  i didn't get to send his feedback before GG disappeared, and am waiting to see where we all end up to give him a super +2 as well!

thanks again, and best wishes!
4882  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Looking for people to play Resident Evil:Outbreak with on: October 16, 2004, 08:55:52 PM
okay, i'll bite, just so you have an answer!

i've been tuned out lately to the newest releases (except Fable and Halo 2), so you tell me - which system is it for, and does it cost to play online?  i like the one game i played of the RE series - do the controls and camera still suck on Outbreak?  and, you're talking about cooperative, right - that's good with me.

advantages:  i have two xboxes (no live account, but have been considering it of late), every Nintendo system ever made except GBC, including the cube, a ps1, two ps2's, piles of dreamcasts, and i love gaming (could you tell?) - and have a flexible schedule.  i'm not a hog or a boaster, and i don't cheat.

disadvantages:  haven't played online yet, although i've been looking into it lately.  i have the capability (i think) of going online now - with ps2 (network adapter and software, Comcast broadband), and of course with Xbox live, just have to get the kit.

if no one else answers and you want to help me, i'll be glad to come along for the ride!  i'm a moderately good gamer, not great, but no beginner either.  feel free to ask which games i've finished, liked, etc....

good luck getting more answers,

regards,
4883  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / And I'll take your dusty DREAMCAST stuff (good idea, LANER)! on: October 16, 2004, 02:43:11 PM
hey, everyone,

i will take almost anything Dreamcast, so while you're in your cellar looking for Atari's for Laner, why not look for your DC stuff too?

i can trade a little and/ or pay cash. for trade, i have Xbox, ps1 &2, and Cube games, including some xbox demo discs (3 thru 30-something). i have a few refurbished guaranteed ps2's, misc. game guides, also a GBA (not SP), an original Gameboy, some "vintage"  Nintendo Power mags, a few NES, SNES, and N64 games - you know the drill - i've been gaming for 15 years and have kept almost everything!

if interested, mail or PM me for a list of whatever brand/ genre, etc. you may be interested in and i'll send you a list.

thank you one and all!

4885  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Arcade stick for trade on: October 16, 2004, 02:04:07 PM
hey, HAPLO,

i read all those books that Haplo was the main character in - weren't they great?

i might be interested in the arcade stick - can you tell me it's official name so i can surf for a picture and details about it?  i've never been into stick controls before so i have no idea what the "arcade stick" looks like.

for trades i have Xbox games, a few Cube games, lots of Dreamcast stuff, some ps1 and ps2 games and accessories.  cash might be okay, but i'd like to exhaust trade possibilities first.

thanks,

4887  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Name that Game, Graphic Edition on: October 11, 2004, 11:32:31 PM
thanks DIMMONA,

but i got my chance to post - you probably missed it because that darn Destructor got it so fast!

this is so much fun!  maybe it should be a "sticky" one, does anyone else agree?  or are there rules to what can be sticky and what can't?

thanks all,
4888  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Is Gonegold.com down? on: October 11, 2004, 03:41:45 PM
Thank You, DESTRUCTOR,

i just read the post at your link.  when i couldn't connect to GG after a few days, i contacted another GG'er (thanks, LILDRGN) who told me about this site - and another thanks-so-much to CONSOLEGOLD for welcoming us!  i never thought to look in the off-topic section though, so i'm also grateful to KC for asking the question....

thank you, one and all!
4889  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / EB GAMES SUNDAY CIRCULAR on: October 11, 2004, 03:31:55 AM
hey, is that really you Adumir?

Good job on mentioning the two-day-only part of the sale - i realized it but forgot to mention it!  Ahhh, you outdid me by including the link, too!

I bow to your superior experience....  thumbsup

thanks!

hi, ElijahPrice,

if you have an Electronics Boutique (EB Games) near you, the Sunday paper advertisement listed a pre-played Splinter Cell for $4.99.  They're having a two day sale (today and Columbus Day)...

have fun shopping!
4891  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / EB GAMES SUNDAY CIRCULAR on: October 10, 2004, 08:47:20 PM
In this weeks EB Games Sunday newspaper circular (flier, sales thingy), they have quite a few games on sale for some pretty decent prices... nothing like Fable for 12 bucks - but lots of 10 dollar games.

that's all folks! [/b]

hey, thanks EddieA,

i'll take you up on your generous offer since i may never get another one correct!  but then when will you go?  ahh, i've got it - mine will be a stumper and no one will get it and it'll be you're turn - problem solved (yeah, right!).  okay, il'll try again (man, i feel stupid, i tried it first by hitting the img button, then pasting the url - that didn't work, but i finally finally figured it out!  whew, this is work!- fun, but work!

thanks again to EddieA and Dimmona

hey, all,

well, i don't get that one!  the guy with the parted-down-the-middle hair, to the left of the engine/robot/helicopter-looking thing looks vaguely familiar, maybe i've seen the game somewhere, but i don't think i've ever played it.  no clue!

Dimmona very nicely set me up with a link i can use for my screenshot, but i'll challenge myself and see if i can get another one right (or wait til someone like me has to pass again...)

g'night!
4894  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / can i pass? i can't get the screenshot in... on: October 09, 2004, 09:42:58 PM
hi, thanks, Bullwinkle,

but it didn't work, probably because i'm trying to take it off of a screenshot from a game store.  if anyone knows Damilla's email address - the offer was somewhere aroung page 3, or 4, i tried to mail but the email address wasn't available, so i did a PM... and i'm running out the door to a b-day party!

can i pass and just let the game go on?  maybe i'll get one right later, or can use a "play later" card?

gotta run, thanks!
4895  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Xbox Collection Recommendations on: October 09, 2004, 06:33:12 PM
sorry DRIVER,

i have to very slightly disagree... i loved it for a while, but the whole thing about not being able to figure out ahead of time what all the stealth rules were, just annoyed me.  drop onto this street you're fine, drop onto another, similar looking one, mission over.  they say they're fixing that problem in the latest version, so i must not have been the only one who had the prob.

plus,  you have to like a lot of stealth, which i do to some degree, but i only like it when your options for killing folks are a little looser... just me there, though!

here's the part where i agree!  it does have great graphics, and for 6 bucks, maybe it would be a good one to find out whether you like that much stealth or not (if you don't already know).
4896  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Name that Game, Graphic Edition on: October 09, 2004, 05:42:29 PM
i sent my url to the nice person (dimmona) who graciously offered to host the pics, so either i'll figure it out, or he/she will get it and post it... until then, have a nice day!
4897  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Name that Game, Graphic Edition on: October 09, 2004, 05:20:11 PM
okay, guess i'm stupid ("ES-TEE-DOUBLE OH-PID" -say it fast if you don't get it!)...

i have a pic in My Pictures, also one saved to Mozilla, but still can't get a "paste" option here, even using Img. and NOT using Img.   the url i have would include the whole page and title, etc.

help!  i don't want to hold up the process - this is a great idea and a blast!

thanks....
4898  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Riddick on: October 09, 2004, 05:09:36 PM
Hey, SAM HELL (what in?),

Isn't Riddick still on the expensive side, even used?

We were trying to stay with the more affordable games, if it's dropped, let me know, because i want one!

thanks

thanks!
4900  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ElijahPrice - WELCOME ABOARD!!! on: October 09, 2004, 04:01:46 PM
Hi, ElijahPrice,

you actually probably got here before i did - i came via gonegold.  anyway, if you have a few bucks now, and you're near one of these:  go to Electronics Boutique and buy their card that gives you 10% discount on used games.  the card used to be 7 bucks, but it's gone up (maybe 12-14 ish?).  you get a good game magazine subscription - they're own, "GMR" - and the 10% off.  when you're finances recover to "almost new games" - you'd be surprised how fast new games show up there - they sell used ones for 45, but then take off the 10% making it $40.50.  i got a used D & D Heroes 5 days after it came out, and i just saw a brand new game (used) there last night - sorry, i don't remember which, but it was a "highly desireable" game.

next,  look in the bargain bin for Mace Griffin, Bounty Hunter - it should be about 7 or 8 bucks.  i like it, although no one else seems to talk about it much, not sure why (folks, any input on this?) - it's a bit like a cross between Halo and Unreal II - you shoot soldiers and creatures, fly some, have lots of weapon choices, etc.  there should be several other games you'd like in the bin as well.

another option is eBay, if you're familiar with that, but always check EB Games online prices and eBay "completed listings" prices to be sure you're not paying too much - and don't forget to add the shipping costs, obviously.  if you don't know anything about eBay, or how to do the listings search, emial me, i'd be glad to help.

another option, similar to renting, but cheaper, and you can keep the game as long as you need - is this:  i'd be willing to lend you any game i have that i'm willing to let go out of the house (there're only a few exceptions.)  examples are Mace Griffin, GTA3, Blade II, Max Payne, The Thing, and more.  depending on where you live, the shipping would be around 1.30 - ish (i'd use jewel cases, much lighter), first class USPS.  i wouldn't charge you for my shipping, you can repay the favor someday when you get more games, or with your ps2 games (i recently got a ps2 to play non-Xbox games).

email if interested and good luck!  you're gonna love your XBox!
