Looks like the Packers will lock up a playoff spot today! WHooooooooooooooo!!!! I would love to see them play Minnesota in the playoffs!
Really? Even with the apparent collapse of Minnesota, I would still take them at the Dome against the Pack. Unless it was the NFC Championship game, and lets be honest, neither team will get that far.

Mike Shanahan to coach the Redskins in 2010?Thoughts Redskins fans? I'd say anything is better than Jim Zorn, and Shanahan is one hell of an upgrade. Perhaps this could be the start of a potential turning point in what has been a number of difficult seasons. Shanahan did some great things in Denver and if he's given an opportunity to make some changes in Washington I think it can be a good move. Well, the first and most important step was Snyder firing Cerrato. I mean Cerrato "resigning," and replacing him with Bruce Allen. We'll see if this means that Snyder is going to step a bit back from the franchise (as all Skins fans hope he does). I can't imagine that Shanahan and Allen would agree to work for Snyder in "hands-on" mode, however. So it could be a VERY good thing I heard Shanahan going to Dallas after Dallas is eliminated from post-season contention.

This is nothing like Titanic. There's a love story, but it's not nearly so sappy, and you get to watch the awesome scenery while it's happening.
The things I found the most intersting about Titanic was the scenery and the recreation of the ship. Too bad it took 3 hours to get through it all.

I said this in the OO thread. If you get roughed up like that and no penalty is called, come up swinging. No use laying there.
You realize if you come up swinging and you're caught doing it and not the other player, you get red carded and booted from the game, right? That does not matter if you are not the best player on the team. It will make the thug think the next time though. That does explain why everyone falls down like a bunch of pussies. It does matter, since you'd be putting your team a man down the rest of the game. Red card = ejection, and you can't replace the player. Stupid sport .

I think they should of hidden the V's agenda for a few episodes. Sure many of us new how it will end up, but it would of been nice to give the bleeding hearts something to cling to for awhile before the bottome fell out . Overall I enjoyed the premiere.

Here I thought it was not available yet. I put my request in for a Netflix disc today. I think this will turn out to be the only way I watch movies for the next couple of years. After all this is the reason I bought the PS3.

I don't understand why the packer fans were booing Favre. He made that team a sucess the last 12+years. Yes he left and played for other teams, but so do other players.
Jerry Rice left to play the Raiders, and when he came to SF he'd get standing ovations. Favre should get the same respect.
They are cheeseheads. That explains it all.

I thought there were a couple folks in the upper seats when I came in, but when I left midway for a restroom visit I noticed nobody was there. Kind of weird. It made me wonder -- do they have to show the film even if literally nobody is in the theater for a given showing? I don't think they have to run the movie. My local theater does not. I only go to the late showings on a weekday during the school year. That way there will not be any screaming kids or teenage never-do-wells in the theater. I have walked in there many a time and they show what ever movie I want to see, as long it is not already running, for my personal viewing. That is how I watched Star Wars I,II, and III, and a half dozen other movies over the years. I feel like Howard Hughs in my own private large theater away from the masses .

This MIN-GB game is delivering.
The Vikings defense decided not to come out after half time. BS roughing the passer penalty against the Vikings. One of the worst calls of the week.

In one of the early Mythbusters episode where they tried to blow over a car with a jet, had an Intrepid for the sacrifice car and they made a comment about taking the wheel off to change the battery. I remember this because I had an Intrepid about that time but thankfully I never had to do anything with the battery.

A new patch was released a week or two ago. I came back to this game and I am enjoying it very much. I did some research and picked up some recruiting tips so I can now be competitive in Dynasty mode. I have won the Big 10 title 2 times and the BCS Championship once in the 6 dynasty years I have been playing. I can at least get in the top 15 in recruiting classes which is good for me. It may be time to increase the difficulty. There are still issues with the game. The CPU offense still snaps the ball too fast. Sliders are still fubar and make little sense on how they work. Progression has largely been fixed so the number of 99 rated players are less numerous. If they could just fix the sliders and slow the game down a few seconds at pre-snap, this would be an awesome game. And bring back custom playbooks. Why does every school's playbook need 5 shotgun formations when just about every player only uses 2 of them or the same 2 plays from each of them?

Not a lot of starch in that challenge so I would think a lot of people could knock it out. The no drink and the 20 minute time limit being the big challenge.

Freshwater fish is awesome smoked especially boney fish like Northern Pike, Whitefish, or Cisco. Fowl is also very good smoked. I had a smoked pheasant that was very good. I would think free range turkey, or wild turkey would be good smoked, it is not much use in any other way. Dove and pidgeon would also be interesting smoked. A tip I can offer is soak the wood chips in a good beer for a few hours before using.

It would not take much to surpase Fonda's version. The only movie I have seen with Fox in was Transformers, not saying much. I would have to go with Jolie. Seems like they would be two different movies depending on which actress they go with.

Wow, Adrian Peterson continues to show why he is the best player in football today. That long run of his was amazing.
I especially enjoyed the "get the fuck out of my way" head slap on the Cleveland defender.

Yeah, 20 oz. 16 oz is the average "pint" in the USA?! Any barkeeper serving that to a typical Englishman on holiday is risking violence! And it sounds like we'd be charged the same for it as we'd pay for a full pint here in the UK too. Ah well. You guys get cheaper food, cars, electronics and pretty much everything else. There had to be a catch somewhere. Yes, the English pint (which is the proper name of the "American pint") is 16 oz -- half of a quart. I've never understood where the 20-oz Imperial pint came from since it doesn't fit on the gallon - quart - pint - cup scale. I guess you have Imperial gallons, too. Or used to. A US gallon is 128 oz. Our local Pizzeria Uno sells a 14-oz "pint", which makes me want to firebomb the place every time we go there. It forces me to order their 22-oz size...and inevitably drink either more or less beer than my customary three 16-oz pints. Do I stop at two of their 22-oz glasses and come up 4 oz short? or do I order a third glass and come up 18 oz over? Or do I order two 22-ouncers and one 14-ouncer? (Believe it or not, I usually stop at two big glasses...but they shouldn't create this dilemma in the first place! Fie on their stupid 14-ounce glass.) Do they call it a "pint". I know there is a beer geek movement called "The Proper Pint" or something like that. If the bar is advertising a pint, it better damn well be 16 oz. There is also a gadget that you can buy that you can bring into the bar and put it up to the glass and measure how much fluid it holds so you can call shenanigans on them if it comes up short.

Yeah, we have a not quite 2 year old, kronovan.
The story has gotten worse today... now there is what appears to be a SIXTH car, which is taking the spot of the neighbor across the street.
It's like these girls have in 2 days taken over our entire block. Why do six college girls all need their own car?
I'm not going to end up parking across the street, but on the next block.
I think this is what *really* bothers me... they take my spot, so I'm forced to take someone else's spot, who is forced to take someone else's spot, and I don't want to be guilty of the same disrespect to my neighbors of which these girls are guilty.
We moved into this neighborhood thinking it was a neighborhood... not a dorm... then this guy takes a split level house, cuts the roof off and adds 2 more stories... then starts renting out all the rooms. When the city made him come and get me to sign off on his 'addition', I should've said 'no'.
Oh, and I forgot to add something that will probably change some of your minds... I'm pretty sure they are all cock teases.
Yes, that is where you made your mistake. Parking should have been a consideration by both you and the city that approved the remodel/rezoning. You might still be able to talk to someone at the city about proper parking for the current usage of the building. Every rental unit should have come with a parking stall or it HAD to impact the neighborhood. I know every city, county, state is different, but this is a consideration that has to be made around here. If you are a landlord or own a business like a restaurant, you have to provide a parking spot for every resident or customer. I do not believe street parking counts. Has school started? Once classes begin won't these girls be coming and going all day and night? Some will get boyfriends and god knows the dudes won't stay overnight at that house with all those girlfriends hanging around. Almost seems like the herd effect will be in full force around that house.

Yea, I make it a personal habit to never buy an Oktoberfest before Labor Day. Afterall it is only a couple more weeks of Hefeweizens and Kolschs.
For Ceekay: $10+ for Sierra Nevada seasonals is indeed a rip off (unless it is for Bigfoot). I just picked up a six pack each of their Kellerweis and Anniversary Ale for $8.99 each. And that is in my highly taxed state of MN. I did some research of your area and it seems there is a good beer scene in Columbus. For stores it seems that Blacklick Wine & Spirits, Grapes of Mirth, Kenny Road Market, Palmer's Beverage Center, and Whole Foods are your best bets. As far as local beer, Great Lakes and Hoppin' Frog are popular breweries.

well, after a whole summer of not being able to get a consistent supply of the Summer Shandy I walked into the local carry out today, and lo and behold something had taken it's place.
Leinenkugels Oktoberfest.
I figured I might as well grab a pack since I have a bunch of brats and sauerkraut left over from last night. it'll make a good Sunday dinner. I imagine I'll be seeing Sam Adams version showing up soon.
I saw SA Oktoberfest last week. Where do you live where the best beer is Leinenkugels and Sam Adams? There has to be a local brewer that is putting out some quality stuff. The good news is that with the Oktoberfests coming out, the end of crappy wheat beers is near and the best part of the beer drinking season is fast approaching.

He killed some dogs and participated in organizing betting on behavior that dogs do. He went to prison. Is he remorseful? WTF do I care. Hopefully he does not do it again and if he does something that stupid again he will go back to jail.
I guess some of us just think what he did was very wrong and think its a lot more serious of a crime then you seem to. Putting dogs in a ring and training them to kill each other isnt just 'behavior that dogs do'. I have to disagree. Some breeds of dogs are bred to fight just as there are dogs that herd, retrieve, set, follow scent, bait bulls, sit in laps, etc. As far as seriousness of the crime, I think people need a little perspective. The punishment was fit for the crime. Now it is time to see if learned anything from his negative actions. BS. Again read about dog fighting. Pitbulls are great friendly dogs. When they are tortured and abused, they are not. Wikipedia article on pitbulls: In the United States these dogs were used as catch dogs for semi-wild cattle and hogs, to hunt, to drive livestock, and as family companions. Have you ever seen a catch dog in action? They catch, fight, and kill. Same with breeds like bulldogs and terriors. They were bred for fighting and killing. Why else would these breeds exist? Does that make them a bad house pet. Of course not. I think some people need to watch some Dog Whisperer.
