I would like to say that, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, is a really awesome game!  Played through the first chapter this morning and it's a fun little strategy game, with some historical pics in it.  I'm liking it =)
2  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Well, the PC's got a new problem now.... on: March 14, 2015, 02:56:51 PM
Nope.  The tech guy said I would never need more than 16G of RAM on this build, but it was something to think about.  Until yesterday, I had no clue it wasn't using all 32G's, lol!
3  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Well, the PC's got a new problem now.... on: March 14, 2015, 01:11:53 PM
LOL, I didn't see your reply until this morning...  The fella at the shop said it was going bad, but testes good still.  Then, he called me Thursday and said that the new vid card I just installed was bad...  Called newegg, got a replacement on the way for that.  I also told him to go ahead and save as much off the HDD as he could and go ahead and put another 1TB in there.  Wasn't too pricey, walked out paying $130.  Also, when KSD and I were building this, I wish he would've told me that Win 7 Home, doesn't allow full use of all 32G of RAM we installed...  It's cap is 16G...  He said an upgrade to Win 7 Pro would be able to use it all, but was also another $140...  Is it worth it?

HDD is going bad...
5  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Well, the PC's got a new problem now.... on: March 11, 2015, 11:50:44 AM
Sorry, I was tired and upset that this thing keeps screwing up...  I was hoping for a couple more years out of it, before it started needing parts...

Anyway, the hardware is:
Corsair 750W PS
Corsair Vengeance 32G (4x8G) DDR3 RAM
1 TB HDD
128G SSD
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H Mobo
Intel i5 3.4ghz processor

And yes, the new GPU is still installed.

I played Wolfenstein the other night for 2-3 hours, with no problems whatsoever!  Then, last night, nothing would play when I double-clicked it...  I restarted and nothing ever came back on...  There's a super good repair guy in town.  I'm gonna take it to him this morning and let him diagnose it, then go from there...
6  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Well, the PC's got a new problem now.... on: March 11, 2015, 12:46:11 AM
I think I'm just gonna buy a new mobo and some RAM, maybe a new SSD?  I just restarted my pc and when it got to the mobo screen, it just stayed there, for 5-10 minutes...  Windows is on my SSD and it usually starts right up, within a few seconds.  Not now...  After waiting for the mobo screen to go away, now it's a black screen.  No sign in, no noises, nothing...  I should've just bought a cheap ass pc, if I'd known it was only going last a few years...

Hmm...the other thought I had when I saw this was twofold:

RAM or Heat

Were it me, I'd take Memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/ --- use the free version) and put it on a USB stick and let it test my memory.   If those all check out ok, I'd check and see if all my fans were spinning and clean.  Heat can cause crashes just as sure as bad drivers or hardware failure.

Let us know what you find with those two things.   If you are playing Tomb Raider or TitanFall, both are pretty resource intensive and would drive memory or heat.

Well, the new card obviously did something, as I can play a lot longer with the new one installed.  I did a massive clean out of my pc last week. My old vid cards' fan was caked with dust, lol!  I cannot seem to find my "computer sticky thingy", but I'll pick one up today and do a Memtest and let yall know.  Heat shouldn't be a factor now.  I still have that Antec case you told me to buy.  5 fans on the case, 2 of the PS, 2 on vid card, and 1 on processor.  It feels like an air conditioner beside me =)  I hope the RAM isn't goin bad already...  It's not even 3 years old yet.

I was playing some Titanfall late last night and the pc must've read my mind, because it just stopped, straight back to Windows, not reason again....  I was going to turn it off and go to bed anyway, lol!
8  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver stopped responding... on: March 06, 2015, 12:06:32 PM
Well, last night, about 11pm, as I was playing some Titanfall, (you would think that's my favorite game?), it had a hard freeze!  Froze everything, had to restart at PS switch!  I attempted to update my Mobo and after downloading the drivers for it, it wouldn't install them...?  Any clues?
9  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver stopped responding... on: March 05, 2015, 01:58:02 PM
I hope it did?  Unsure, why it crashed once, after new card install though?  I'm gonna see how BF4 plays when I get home tonight.

Did you end up using the uninstaller program I linked?
* TheAtomicKid ponders

I did, sir!  I used the option were it said to uninstall the drivers and shut down, without a rescan/bootup.  It worked fine, I took out the old card, had to move one of my HDD, as this new card is longer, put case back together and turned on and it automatically updated drivers.  Just FYI, Titanfall only crashed once, but without a crash report/reason?  I tried Lara and played it for about an hour with no problems either?

Try your other games Mirage and if you can, use some graphic card program to monitor the temp. RAM test as well maybe??

I'm about to try Lara Croft and The Temple of Orsis and see what it does?  After posting the above, I played Titanfall for a little over an hour with no crashing or anything.  Played fine...?
12  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver stopped responding... on: March 05, 2015, 02:16:08 AM
Well, new card installed.  Played one full round of Ttitanfall and then at the end, it went straight to the desktop, no crash report or anything, just immediately back to Windows...

Sounds like you troubleshooted as best you could without doing a complete hard drive wipe.  Is Titanfall the only game doing this? Or all your games?

Nope, I tried the newest Tomb Raider and it made it into about 5 minutes through the cave and locked up.  I also tried the Tomb Raider game that looks like Diablo and it immediately crashed as soon as I started to move...  But, on games that require next to no special/hard graphics, like Beat Hazard and BroForce, they'll play absolutely fine.

Should I just backup all my pics and docs and wipe the thing or will putting in this new GTX 960 fix it?  I'll post my rig info tonight, after class.  Thanks
16  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver stopped responding... on: March 03, 2015, 04:09:26 AM
OK yall, Knightshade helped me build my rig several years ago and he said it would be a top notch system for 6-8 years.  That being said, a couple weeks ago, as I was playing Titanfall, it crashed to windows and gave me this message, "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver,Version ???(forgot the number), stopped responding and has successfully recovered."  If I had Firefox opened, it would crash it to a white screen and I'd have to restart it as well.

I've updated the nvidia drivers and updated Win 7 and everything else I can you can update and it still crashes my higher end graphic games...  I cleaned out everything super good earlier today and tried Titanfall and it worked for at least 30 minutes, but crashed right before that...

I've got a new nvidia 960 GTX card on the way here.  Do any of you think the my current 660 GTX is going bad?  Any thoughts?  I can't find much help when doing a search on the web and I'm too dumb, when it comes to "nerd" talk about programming and such...  Any help would be greatly appreciated?  Thanks!

This sale sucks so far...

Not really sure why you'd say that. Unless you were hoping for 75% off stuff that has been out less than a month or so, in which case you, like the rest of us, have been spoiled by Steam sales. Each of these sales I have fewer and fewer games to get because my library is so big, but that doesn't make the deals any less good for people who don't have those games.

And yet I've already added Intrusion 2, Critter Crunch, Splinter Cell bundle and FEAR 3 to my library and I know there are several on my wishlist I'll definitely be buying before the sale is done icon_redface

I'm just voicing my opinion, as I really care nothing about the stuff that's been on sale.  However, I did play an Intrusion 2 demo, when the game was released and enjoyed it, I don't think I'd buy it though...  I have so many steam games in my backlog, that I bought 2-3 years ago and still haven't played them.

Yep, you're still on my steam list.  I haven't seen you online though in days...?  I had a level 50 Commando as of 2 weeks ago, but then when I carried my practically new pc to get my Win 7 problem fixed, they wiped both my SSD and HDD...  My HDD had BL2 on it and my steam cloud apparently wasn't turned on, so for the last 2 weeks, I've been making another Commando  icon_confused  I wanna make a Mechcromancer next though.

Hey yall!  I'm to the point, where it's gettin real boring having no one to co-op with on Borderlands 2 for PC.  Autistic Angel and I were playing just about every night, but he's had to slow down playing just about everything for the past month or so.  So, if anyone's interested, my Steam name is below.  I try to play a couple hours every night, after 3:30 Central Time and just about all day on Saturdays and Sunday.  Shoot me a steam friend invite and let's have some fun!  I'm have a 43 Commando, on 2nd play through, with the Season Pass!  Thanks, Jason!
