13601  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: gamers sue EA!!!! on: June 17, 2008, 05:00:30 PM
its getting to a point where EA will no doubt find its way into your game collection whather you like it or not,the amount of companies they have(or are also trying to) gobble/d up

i think i was one of the few who liked the Microsoft inhouse golf game(links i think it was called...XSN i think)in about 2004 or so,while all my mates preffered tiger woods..and now EA are trying to get their hands on Take 2,so no more of their sports games, and the usual GTA and Bioshock included

i was pleased that EA had not secured the F1 license again from SONY and instead Codemasters got it...yay

okay Kev,seen as though you are the guy to ask

remember that about Ocelot only pretending to be Liquid?

how come his arm(Liquids arm)no longer reacts to when snake is near him..was that a put on as well in MGS2?...or is because of this Therapy that Ocelot had that his arm no longer does this...because basically,he kinda already is Liquid...er,but not really?

act 3

Spoiler for Hiden:
the guy you are followning also dons a PMC uniform..but his helmet is a bit different,so he is still quite easy to spot...i followed a little to closely though, and he shot at me so i shot him back with knock out bullets and while he was sleeping i took his gun,and then cruched down and nudged him awake again..then he ran off but i kept with him until he was walking again and then he ducks into an alley and re-appears without the uniform just a few streets from where the door is to meet EVA

i also loved this part of the game,it was somehting different...but as said,i didnt really need to see him taking a piss in the park disgust

thanks Kev.....not sure how you got all that out of the story,i think i need to play it again

in two minds whether to exchange it now,and replay it when the new version comes out(like substance or subsistance)..i am also having absolutely no luck staying in a room online for more than 30 seconds..thus i get annoyed and put my 360 on and play COD4 online with no problems...not sure why its like that

ATB

Spoiler for Hiden:
i think there was something in the news last year about them finding a secret part of the bible(I myself am not into religion at all)or a part of the Bible that was kept hidden, and in it it explained why Judas did what he did to Jesus,Jesus gave him this secret mission to do,Judas full well knowing that he was going to go down as the worlds most hated traitor..but it was Jesus' discission to choose Judas as he was his best Disciple...or something like....if you believe all that, and Judas excepted without delay

what you just metioned about Benedict Arnold(who i admit hadnt heard of him)reminded me of that news story last year

LOL,thats what i did, after spending 20 minutes pissing about on the towers, not knowing what the hell to do

someone had already told me(by accident..i read it on the forums that wsnt marked with a spoiler)about the Vamp fight,so it was over very quickly for me

i hated the microwave tunnel, but i still got the sense of struggling along with Snake

Naked Snake is my favourite playable character

Destructor, when you said -'Oh yeah, one last thing - "Rumble is back!" - Mantis.'

i take it you were playing with a DS 3?..i was playing with a sixaxis so he went mad when he couldn't make it move and then he said(shouted) 'the Sixaxis hasnt got Rumble!!!'...or something to that effect

Can someone explain to me the stick up mechanic (i now understand the radar and the ring thing).

I get behind a guy and hit L1 but all it does is slant Snake's gun.  In MGS3 he'd say 'stick em up' or something.

I'm at the first boss fight and you guys were right- the cut scene prior to it is end game level serious....brilliant!

he does say it on this one as well, but i did it by accident...i had my gun pointing to a sniper who i managed to get behind, and can't remember if i pressed anything or he said it automatically but he said it..but i just shot him   ZZZzzzzz

i may of pressed L1 then triangle to look down the sights

As much as I wanted for it to happen, I'm glad they didn't go with some lame nanomachine rejuvination that turned him young again.

LOL,i was thinking that all the way through the game....think you are right about it being best it didnt happen..part of me actually wanted Snake to die to put this series to rest,as much a i love this series..i think it has definetly ran its course now

there have been rumours of a Ocelot game set inbetween port ops and metal gear, but i think its been shot down now

question:after seeing shadow moses in act 4,do you think it be fitting for Hideo to remake MGS1 again?

i personally would rather see this gen console remakes of metal gear 1 and 2...but i would also like to see what else Hideo can do now...Z.O.E. for one

i actually guessed that EVA was to be sniper wolfs mother(they wore their all in one gear the same, zip down, breasts out)...guess i was a little wrong disgust

Still, the story was interesting in a conspiracy theory kind of way.  I'm still not sure what the "turns the MGS universe on its head" thing was that ATB keeps mentioning was.

Spoiler for Hiden:
not sure about ATB,but for me it was the fact that you, the player started to see sense in why Big Boss became who he was,he has always been known as the bad guy, since Solid Snake killed him back in the days of Metal Gear on the NES...but you could see why he became that way, maybe even agreeing(as The Boss was pretty much used, but she still did her duty for her country..and her country will continue to associate her as a terrorist, when really she was a hero) with him to a certain point.....the ending for me,really sent a shiver down my spine, when EVA was reciting on the tape recorder why The Boss did what she did...all through the game(like breaking Snakes arm and throwing him over the bridge instead of outright killing him etc etc....it did turn a lot around,at least for me anyway
13613  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GTA4 impressions thread on: June 15, 2008, 08:25:13 PM
LOL,i pretty much loved the game(i think it deserved more a 9 than a 10 a lot of places/reviews were giving it.).and it was by far the easiest of the series(but that might be down to better controls)..only thing i hated was being married to like 5 people,or so it seemed, with them constantly bugging me to go out

so does that mean you are not going to get the downloads when they are released WBS?
13614  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / MGS4 finished game thread...**lots of spoilers** on: June 15, 2008, 08:07:39 PM
i know,i know we have a few MGS threads already, but i have made this thread for those who have finished metal gear solid 4,so that we dont have to keep putting spoilers in everywhere in other threads(and people keep having to avoid them),and i know a lot of you are starting to finish the game now

so,what did you think of it?

GOTY?

i think so for me,i loved the game,i thought it exceeded what i was expecting(i think MGS3 is still my favourite though)

there were a few points i didnt like about it,some lame product placing for one(for SONY..Apple not so much),and like i have said i would of liked another Act..but the pros certainly outweight the cons, for once it seems that magazines and such have got the review scores spot on(for shame Eurogamer)...although MGO is pretty much a nightmare to get into a decent room

the story again, could get pretty confusing(tell me again why Ocelot was pretending to be Liquid?),it swings backward and forward...and the boss levels were some of the best of the series, which is saying a lot,and a lot of characters from the whole series come and go.

Rex Vs Ray was what everyone has been wanting since the start of this series, and it didnt fail...to me it felt like Alien Queen Vs Yellow Loader from 'Aliens' type of fight, and it was just a shame that you only had a cramped place to have your fight

i think making Raiden the ninja, was a masterstroke,as a he was pretty much hated from number 2,as we all wanted to play as snake..so making him Ninja Raiden, and making him cool was pretty much the only thing he could of done for him if Hideo was gonna include him...again the ending was crazy for him and threw a lot in the air that we knew already

the different gameplay aspects popping up was also a nice touch and a good way to mix things up,whether its shooting from  the back of EVAs bike,in the metal gear or shooting from a top of Drebins van,i thought it was all done pretty well..and even following the Resistnce guy through that European city was great(didnt want to see him stop of in the park for a piss though  icon_lol )

talking about EVA,i didnt actually see her die,as i thought i saw her still moving the last i saw of her,but i guess i may of missed something..as in her last breath.Last i saw of her was getting half burnt trying to stop the body of Big boss getting more damaged

Big Boss of course not being dead, that being Solidus' body, and Big Boss popping up right at the end, along with major zero,is Hideo doing this on purpose?..i remember thinking that i wouldnt be suprised if Olga turned up somehwere to be reunited with Sunny..the ending was good, but again overlong(but you should expect that from these games),especially seeing Meryls wedding,i didnt really want to see that...it was snake i was more bothered about

one last thing,Shadow Moses...it was great seeing the place again, pretty much untouched from last time we were there(for me two weeks ago,LOL),seeing key places like Otacons office, the crashed Hind-D that belonged to Liquid and the snowy battlefield where sniper wolf originally died, but also where you took care of crying wolf..

didnt feel, like a good way for Ocelot to go though, this guy has been the only character who has featured in all the games..so when he died at the end it didnt feel final, maybe a little lowkey way for him to die...and as said before i missed his gun tricks(him dying from his own gun would of been a great way for him to die)

over all i great game, only this and GTA4 can really get GOTY up to now...and i am edging over to Metals side

Yeah I don't see how anybody could complain-like I said, I'll take a 15 hour game that I actually finish over a 50 hour game that I only get halfway through any day!  BTW you do know that the original MGS was only about 12 hours long, correct?

and the original MGS was on two CDs

like i said after all that was said about how full the Blu-Ray disc was 17hrs was shorter than i was expecting

and getting half way though a 50hr game is 25 hrs...which would be 10 hrs longer than your 15hr game,LOL

Man, I don't see how anyone can complain about the length of this game.  It's easily the biggest game in the series and almost every area has multiple paths to get through making it the most replayable in the series as well.  I've already clocked 16 hours in and I'm guessing I'm about halfway through.

y'know, i was also gonna respond to that, also, but i seriously didn't know what to say... you're a tough guy to please, mo smile ...

it is the biggest of the series,i agree..guess i'll have to keep my mouth shut, but see i like my big games GTA4(50hrs)mass effect(53hrs)final fantasy 12 (80hrs)...so when a game comes along that i have been waiting for so long(and everyone says how big the BR is )a game under 20 hrs..makes me disapointed in that department...i think another act would of made me happier...or maybe i am just gutted that its over

Act 4
Spoiler for Hiden:
for the PS1 flashback they even switched the controls back to O for CQC

and Hideo gave us what we all wanted,to actually use a metal gear, and further more battle against another metal gear

someone make a spoiler thread for discussions on when the game is finished

Chaz, are you talking about the MGS4 control scheme?  There should be an option that tells the game to remember your preferred aiming method.  So any time you press L1 it'll go to your last used aiming method, either first person iron sights or third person over the shoulder.

i guess there will always be room for improvement when the updated version gets released....like substance(mgs2)or subsistance(mgs3)

so, um,... over the course of your 2-day mgs4 marathon, you've found time to rag on multiple load times, less than ideal controls, somewhat wooden characters & even snake's mustache. the question needs to be asked: while not giving anything away, was there anything about the game (story line, graphics, music, etc) that you, you know, actually enjoyed, or thought was well done? or are we all to just assume you thought that everything else you didn't complain about was mind-bogglingly awesome? slywink ...

for me the bad
still pissed of with them having R1 as CQC
Spoiler for Hiden:
your finger really starts to ache on the last fight

Spoiler for Hiden:
crawling along the floor pressing triangle button very near the end of the game was a nightmare...a good 3-4 minutes of just bashing the triangle button as fast as possible...which has made me not want to play through this game again for some time

the game went on and off feeling like a MGS game

obvious product placing, and a lot of SONY and PS3 praise in the second half of the game

after waiting for all this time, and it being a full BR disc....17hrs to finish i wanted mass effect like 50 hrs  mad

they havent learnt anything from the beta for online, still takes a good 4-5 minutes to get into a gameand actually getting to the lobby in the first place is a pain

well come on!!!,like Snake would grow a 'tache...its just an obvious way to get him and Liquid Ocelot looking more like 'brothers',if you play the twin snakes you see that Liquid and snake look very much alike, but snake knew nothing about liquid being his brother...snake wouldnt want to make himself look even more like Ocelot now would he??LOL

i miss Ocelots gunswinging, that was cool

Spoiler for Hiden:
ninja raiden coming in with his samurai wedged in his teeth because he has lost his arms!!

and for installing the game for a total of about 20 minutes altogether, you would expect fewer load screens

still dont like the PS3/BR cases icon_lol

and why is metal gear solid 3 called metal gear solid 3(and metal gear solid :port ops for that matter)?..shouldnt it be Metal Gear Naked?

Spoiler for Hiden:
that apparently(according to Hideo again)its to be the last solid game...Metal Gear Raiden anyone?
thats it,thats all my complaints right there

for me the good
graphics were great..certainly some of the best i have seen.....and especially the eggs,LOL

music was great, the MGS theme is in there somewhere..but has been jazzed up(like the Bond theme for one of the pierce brosnan ones)

storyline was typical Hideo with over the top bullshit...but it was still cool

it was great seeing everyone from past MGS games
Spoiler for Hiden:
and i mean everyone

gameplay was good, loved the different styles of play it put on you every now and again
Spoiler for Hiden:
Rex vs Ray....shooting on top of Drebins van, shooting from the back of Eva's bike etc

camo is cool and works pretty well,if you shake your sixaxis it changes on and off

the very few instances where you have to use the sixaxis(tilt) was cool...but maybe not enough in the game,i only used it like 3 times

ipod was good, listening to the end theme of MGS 1 on it rocked

pretty much all the boss fights i really enjoyed

Spoiler for Hiden:
funniest part was end scene where little grey the monkey was sat at the table drinking wine and smoking...laughed my monkey nuts off at that

Spoiler for Hiden:
i am hoping someone else finishes it soon so we can discuss all the other things that was great in this game
Rex vs Ray,Raiden being cool in this one,all the stuff about Big Boss/Major Zero/Signit being the DARPA chief, finally killing Vamp  and everything...

feel free to argue, disagree or call me names....i loved the game, but number 3 is still my favourite

At this stage in the game, about the only real ace I can see Microsoft playing is a radical price cut. And by radical I mean a cut that would make it even cheaper than the Wii. Oh yeah, there is a 2nd ace I can think of....free downloading of all HD movies.  icon_twisted

we in Europe(although i prefer to be known as from the UK icon_wink ) have already had our price cut and it IS already cheaper than the Wii...but it seems its only getting a little more attention...as said the GTA didnt improve things..the DLC doesnt come out until novemberish

I'll guess I'll play Devil's Advocate and say that the 360 is in trouble. The system appears to be an utter failure outside of the hardcore crowd, despite Microsoft's attempts to broaden the game library and audience. This generation's console is significantly more well rounded, and is hasn't done them any good in terms of sales. Last generation people were grinding their teeth over the lack of some of the better Japanese titles as well as Japanese RPGs. Microsoft has gone a long way to resolve these issues and it hasn't done them any damned good. Live is a better service now, and that hasn't helped either. Japan has been a massacre. Europe is lukewarm.

Instead of the usual aggressive MS, they seem to now be on cruise control with the 360. They aren't purchasing any new development houses, they've passed up on getting some solid exclusives (Crackdown 2 and Saint's Row 2, just to name a couple) marketing funds have been stagnant, and internal development hasn't taken off.

I think MS may be starting to think that the console market is too volatile a place to be, and one that they cannot exert increasing control over. It is very frustrating to me, because they have the money and skill to be a bull in a china shop. For example, if MS wanted Bioware or Take Two, they could have already had them in the stable.

#@$%  And I can't be the only person who sees all the possibilities available by creating a Third Generation Zune with greatly enhanced ties to the 360 marketplace.

not too mention two of their biggest developers have done one(Bungie and Bizarre)...i love my 360,but i am not blind,i agree with your post...i was thinking they were gonna nab T2 from under EA's nose, they could of offered twice as much(you know them)..and it could of been great for the 360(GTA..bioshock to name two)

apparently, they have a couple of aces up their sleeve for E3..which was said the day before MGS4 was released,so it could just be mind games,i am sure they will have a few 'aces' up their sleeves, but whether people like me think they ARE real aces we will see...real ace would be to set aside the differences with Nintendo and do something about the half finished Goldeneye aracade title,or fixing a deal with square enix for the actual real RPG we want(final fantasy)..not aces in their terms as another viva pinata game

metal gear solid:the twin snakes took me about 8-9 hrs
metal gear solid 2 was a bit longer,about 11,maybe 12 hrs
and metal gear solid 3..THE BEST...about the same 11-12 hrs

worth it to finish all....i am hoping to finally get into and complete MGS:Port Ops on the PSP when i finish number 4

seriously though.you could make excuses for the 360 i suppose with it having a year jump on SONY,and one on Nintendo as well..that the people who wanted the 360 got it already...but the PS2 went from strength to strength after a funny first year, and ended up selling something like 120 million(i think)..but to be honest, the price, the collection of games, and xbox live etc should have it going to the top every month IMO...but obviously, people of ALL ages like to dick about with video games with a Wii,LOL(i have decided to not download anything else until Ninty bring out a HDD...really running low on space).

but in short i have no idea...the RRoD perhaps having some effect...some people having a hatred of Microsoft/Bill Gates, yet post their complaints using Windows XP/Vista...or maybe they are pissed that no real news of Alan Wake has been released for a while thumbsdown

the rest of the metal gears,i could just pick up and play, but this one is taking me a while to get used to the controls..and selecting the solid eye and then selecting zoom/night vision or what ever is a bit tedious...can't we just use the D-Pad for that??,instead of scrolling to where your solid eye is,selecting it then pressing the Triangle button or what ever then having to select it again and pressing the O button to come out,i can see me only using it on special occasions

i hold l2, scroll to the eye, select which mode, & release l2...

yeah, when it would be easier to press 'left' on the D-pad,just like say rainbow six...left for night vision,up for zoom....etc

yeah, well... i never played rainbow 6, which, i guess, possibly explains why i don't really find having to hold l2 while pressing a button rather than just pressing a button to be all that painful? smile ...

..no off course it isnt that painful...its the same for the scopes in other MGS games, but it just means i dont use it as much...i remember having the same complaints about changing weapons in the MGO beta,i just find that they could of made more use of the D-pad..which i think does nothing apart from zoom while you are in scope mode(which i dont go into,LOL)

the below spoiler is a question of a sort.. it happens in the beginning of act one and is also on the title screen...but if you havent finished MGS3 :snake eater, still dont click on it...hmm,or any of the MGS games actually
Spoiler for Hiden:
who's grave is snake stood at?.......i would say, because of the flowers that its the grave of 'The Boss'(the flowers looking similar to where she died at the end of MGS3),but of course this is Solid Snake, not Naked Snake(Big Boss). So,i can only suspect that we get told something else during the game

Just thinking of good guys who have died in the series
E.E(Octacons sister)....but surely Hal would of been there instead of snake...maybe Frank Jaeger(the ninja in MGS1)....i think for now my best bet is Olga...what you reckon?...maybe its just a soldiers grave, any grave and he is just honouring the dead of the unknown soldier in most wars

someone on the ps3 forums said that each act is roughly 3 or so hrs long,on average ..depending on,like Kev said, whether you experiment.

i have done two acts and at the start of act 3 and i have 7 and half hours on the clock(take away the cutscene for the beginning of act 3 and it will be roughly 3 and half hours each for me)..dont forget i started again last night on the naked snake normal mode instead of solid snake normal mode,so i maybe finding it easier than those of you who are on a higher difficulty level...but i am happy with the difficuly level i am on,it seems a nice balance..some PMCs can give me a rough time(still not sure what the difference is from naked and solid snake difficulty...but i seem to be better off now, after having a hard tme on the latter)

and no ATB,i booked the day off work today(it now being 6.20pm,i started playing again at 11am this morning)

still not tried the online yet..apart from the beta,i will get to it after the single player,i am not expecting to get that into it,as i didnt like the beta that much..but we'll see

i am pretty impresesed with your ingame Ipod(apart from the navigation which sucks donkey dick)..you can find tunes from past MGS games(even the early NES ones),and even pod casts that last for about 9 minutes, and there are meant to be more to download in the coming months

the Drebin situation is much better than i thought it was going to be(as i said, resident evil 4 i thought)..if i run out of ammo i usually have enough Drebin points to unlock another weapon i have picked up

okay so snake is old now...but why,oh why did he have to grow a porn 'tache?...would the famous 'snake stubble' not of worked?

ATB-the circle around you detects life....where there is a bump in the circle is where there is another person(if its red they are onto you)..the direction of the bump in the circle is the direction of the enemy...i think rats also make an impression on your 360 circle

just saved at the beginning of Act III now...getting more used to it
Spoiler for Hiden:
only had one major boss fight and that was decoylaughing octopus...and it was a pretty cool fight, and she turned out to be pretty hot as well

its good seeing more and more people pop up.....but seeing rosemary with Campbell..kinda made me go ewww,as long as she doesnt start whining
13633  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [ps3] metal gear solid 4 impressions on: June 13, 2008, 08:29:25 AM
yeah the multiplayer and about 5 maps are included with this..i have yet to try it though since the beta

i am about 2 or so hours in,and its a good game, but i am not feeling the metal gear feel of the first three games

not sure why they have changed the controls, but now to act out CQC you have to press R1,here's me bashing the O button in front of an enemy...i am glad they finally put the O and the X buttons the right way round on the menus, many a time on past games i would comeout of a menu when not meaning to

the rest of the metal gears,i could just pick up and play, but this one is taking me a while to get used to the controls..and selecting the solid eye and then selecting zoom/night vision or what ever is a bit tedious...can't we just use the D-Pad for that??,instead of scrolling to where your solid eye is,selecting it then pressing the Triangle button or what ever then having to select it again and pressing the O button to come out,i can see me only using it on special occasions

as soon as MK II was introduced and it being a bit of comic relief,i straight away thought...the Jar Jar Binks of the metal gears, hopefully it hasnt been 'nearly falling over comically' since

i have also made sure to watch the briefing from the main menu, act 1s briefing is what happened after snake got in the helicoptor right at the beginning

EDIT:oh and let me have one more bitch about the game....why the hell has it turned into resident evil 4 with a shop with Drebin?
13634  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: My MGS4 Experience (aka: PS3 decides not to work) on: June 13, 2008, 08:16:21 AM
i do know that more and more people are getting this yellow flashing light with it beeping(sometimes turning to red)...the people on the UK PS3 forums have been in touch with SONY and SONY straight away exchange your PS3 for a new one,not sure if the same deal happens in North America...they sometimes get their replacement within 3-4 working days

it isnt as bad as the red ring of death, but i have seen a lot more posts about this problem

Spoiler for Hiden:
oh,and what was that at the beginning of the game with David Hayter being interviewed?

I'm thinking they're randomized.  I haven't seen that one yet.  Spoilz!

so when you started the game, you got something else?......when i start the game agaion i wonder if i will get something else

Spoiler for Hiden:
yeah it had David Hayter being interviewed and he had a solid eye patch on,telling the woman who was interviewing him that he was watching basketball while they talked...it was pretty wierd actually...the it just went to the actualy beginning credits for the game with snake in the back of the truck

oh and everybody, before starting the game dont forget to go to extras and downlaod the new camo and an ingame ipod tune...it tells you to keep coming back for more free stuff to download in future

5 and half hours!

Is that the install time, the total length of the cutscenes, or the total length of the actually gameplay?   slywink

LOL,thanks...thats what i was gonna ask as well
13637  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [ps3] metal gear solid 4 impressions on: June 12, 2008, 08:11:04 PM
played for about an hour.....pretty pissed off actually and may start it again on Naked Snake normal difficulty(i have it Solid Snake normal difficulty right now)..not sure what the difference is,but i am sick of being in alert mode(as Turtle said ' the constantly spawning militia')while trying to figure out my optic camo...and where the hell is my Radar?,they had it in MGS1...this being several years later i dont understand why they havent got it here...or maybe that is because of the difficulty level i have it on

Octagon very near the beginning told me that the soldiers on both sides aren't my enemy and not to start anything with them,so i thought 'great' i can go windowshopping etc...wrong!!!.. they all start shooting at me when they see me!!!!

thanks to ATBs edit i now know what those orange X things are that appear on the screen...i didnt want to press anything incase it skipped the scene altogether,if it was a blue cross,i may of clocked on that it was a indication to press the X button, but because it was orange i thought it was an indication that the cutscene was loading from the HDD...just looking through the manual,i can't see anything anywhere on it telling you that as well disgust...so thanks for that one ATB icon_razz...definetly starting it again now!!

the few characters i have met along the way right now, have lost a lot of character since the past games,Octagon for one....seems boring now and wooden, maybe thats just me and it only being the start of the game though

off course i will get used to the game and off course it will grow on me and i will love it....but right now,i could of used more of a hand holding opening level to get me used to everything

i was loving the
Spoiler for Hiden:
beginning running away from the ..er...mini metal gears...i was giggleing as it was quite frantic

i also like how you can play dead while lying on the ground by pressing Y

ATB i also left it running to see the first two adverts...didnt do it a third time though...i was watching them as i ate my dinner nod

Spoiler for Hiden:
oh,and what was that at the beginning of the game with David Hayter being interviewed?

i also have the Piggyback guide which as with other piggyback guides looks like they have done a great job again, however,i have been staying away from it while playing.....maybe use it on the second run through of the game

There's such an incredible tone of meloncholia hanging over the whole series now that I've finished the 3rd and have seen what happened.  It really shifts everything.  People once thought evil are now tragic figures.  People once thought good are now evil.  Genius.

MGS 3 really was a great game, underappreciated

my favourite....up to now anyway

i'm gonna do it!!!...as soon as i get my printer fixed icon_frown

just found this when snooping about.....looks like MGS1 maybe coming to the PSN store very soon

...but theres more

Quote
Konami looks set to announce that the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience - MGS for the PSOne - will be making its way to the PlayStation Network sometime in the next month, after the launch of Guns Of The Patriot. Along with further rumours that they are also planning to launch a software update with MGS4 to include cross media bar integration and those infamous trophies, it seems this is another rumoured aspect of the MGS saga.

The series has always been rumoured to appear in some shape or form on one of many downloadable services for various consoles over the last year. Microsoft's rival machine, the 360, is also being touted to recieve the original Playstation classic very shortly, if reliable sources are to be believed.

An original source over at PartnerNet, the developers-only Xbox Live network used to beta-test unreleased downloadable Xbox 360 games, commented on the rumours, and now it seems we are likely to hear from Konami imminently on this hot topic.

Keep your eyes posted here for the latest as it breaks

anyway,if you guys do download this from whatever place,be it the marketplace or the store...i guess you had better remember this

140.15

that is Meryls codec number...you can only find it on the back of the retail box(MGS1-PS1/MGS:TTS-GC),it tells you to look at the back of the box in the game...not sure how they will get round this if it does become a download

if it did ever come to xbox marketplace(which i doubt,LOL)..i would definetly get it,achievements could be good

okay just finished metal gear solid 3...i have finished it before, but this time...

Spoiler for Hiden:
the ending was even better....everything that EVA was talking about(when Snake awoke) with The Boss not being a traitor and everything she did she did for her country, but will go down as a traitor....and she couldnt tell snake,as then he wouldnt kill her and then she,and he, couldnt complete their missions...it was all devised from the U.S government,no wonder Snake was pissed when he met the President

also, dont forget to wait until after the credits......as well as listen to the MGS theme in the credits as well!!

roll on MGS4 eek eek
