LOL,i know this is Americans only...but i have to say this thread has made me chuckle

Pissed as being angry is very slowly beginning to make its way into our way of speaking(thank you Television),but we will always know it as being pissheads...frogarsed/Ratarsed...blitzed..or just plain drunk here in the UK,its also kinda short for being 'Pissed up'(see below)

going out with yer mates to the pub is 'going out on the Piss'..or having a 'Piss up'....'cant organize a piss up in a brewery' is one way to tell someone they suck etc

the Pissed in being angry,we just say 'i am Pissed off'..same thing really

then there is 'Taking the Piss'..which is short for 'Taking the Mickey'..or making fun of someone

the only person i (only just)recognise from the first picture is Simon Pegg as Scotty(which from that picture doesnt look like any,LOL..at the back in the dark red)

didnt know Sylar was in it,he does look the part

yup, well done Simon icon_biggrin..and Thank YOU Myto disgust

i love that film, and its 3 endings(i wish the fourth ending was on the DVD)

and Kathode, thats a nice score form OXM,how is the actual review?,how many pages etc,as this months mag might actually be a buy for me(why not, this month and next have the best games out)

Four pages.  The only thing they complain about is targeting is a bit flakey.  They gave special commendation to the graphics and presentation, saying the world looks and feels great, and the dog is "genius."  So sounds great overall.

it certainly does,thanks for that

actually i think, like so many other products that your OXM(North America)is out way before my OXM(UK)...but i will definetly be pixking it up

if i remember rightly, after getting used to it,the targeting wasnt too bad in the first Fable game,i wonder if they have stuck with it
13246  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fable II - browser game with bonus items on: October 15, 2008, 08:38:24 PM
hmm,i just know that people have been getting all 5(whether they will have problems actually getting them in game i dont know)

depends what crown you choose at the end of the game
Left: Hero Doll + Tattoo
Middle: Chicken Suit
Right: Insult Book and Dye

prolly try it out this weekend
13247  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] MGS4 on: October 15, 2008, 08:26:13 PM
yeah this was mentioned in the Japanese paragraph that i needed a language pack for in 'Off Topic'(thanks again Isgrimnur for Babelfish)

i am wondering if their(konami)decision, was anything to do with the NXE with the installing,or maybe one reason why MS put it out there in the first place to attract the mighty MGS4..everyone knows the game hasnt a chance of playing from reading of a normal DVD like other games..i would rather install all the game from how many DVDs it takes, but then that would be 40gig(at least..or so it was rumoured)on my HDD

whatever,i will definetly be buying it again if it DOES happen, its currently my GOTY...being on the 360 with the 360 controller(achievements would be interesting as well),would edge it to game of all time!!!(well,in that direction anyway) icon_lol

also here in the UK,you can buy a 360 for 100(no games, core) ..and a PS3 is still 300(no games,40gig)...so playing MGS4 on a 100 quid machine is pretty damn impressive..if it did happen,i would expect the second version of the game to be on the 360(as well as the PS3)...like MGS2:substance(MGS2:sons of liberty was only on the PS2)

- like it or not, at some point - end up seeing the Metal Orphan dressed up in all his fowl glory!

HELL YEAH!!!

but actually i was having problems with some scenes loading, the first scene loaded great then the second scene wouldnt load...then i tried again later and the third screen didnt load,so i was gonna wait until maybe not so many people was on,but i am definetly gonna get all 5 prizes

and Kathode, thats a nice score form OXM,how is the actual review?,how many pages etc,as this months mag might actually be a buy for me(why not, this month and next have the best games out)

now that they are cheap,i suppose selling it if you dont play on it is the best thing to do,as if anything in the future pops up on 360 that interests you, then it wont cost you much to pick up a new system

thats pretty much my problem with the PS3,i have been thinking of selling it,but if anything pops up in the future,i prolly wouldnt be able to afford to pick up another machine, and the fact that i have a 60 gig backwards compatible machine that are now not made...so thats the main reason why i havent sold my PS3 yet...and i at least want to see HOME as i have been looking forward to it

13258  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [360]Call Of Duty:World At War Beta Impressions on: October 12, 2008, 10:19:43 AM
have been playing all night on the beta,it is really good, but i wouldnt say perfect..there is still that problem that when you die,you spawn near to your killer,so you know exactly where he is so you can get your revenge and vice versa

the maps are nice, decently big,but i would prefer battlefield bad company size maps(and maybe that would help for the problem above)vehicles are present,on Roundhouse there are tanks to ride about in,LOL,i must of scared the living daylights out of this one guy i was behind and blasted him

Roundhouse is a decently big map,a disued railway station i think,it has quite a few walkways to get to other parts of the maps up above, and with a 'roundhouse' in the middle

Makin is my favourite of the 3,it is set on a beach,at night and in a lot of bamboo huts, with a few hidden paths up near the top of the map to get to one side to the other, dropping down into the water to shoot from underneath the huts is cool as well

Castle is set in ..well,i guess its a Japnese castle, looks more like a temple(which i guess are their castles)...and has a lot of foliage (trees with pink leaves)and Japanese houses with those paper type doors..(Dojos maybe)

the dogs can be a pain at times,if you see them running towards you, dont waste your ammo, get your knife and quickly slash at them as they jump, gets rid off them instantly that way,but be careful if there is more than one dog,get ready with that analogue stick to slash again.it is a pain when you arent facing the dogs and you are not aware of them, until they jump up and kill you...there is no other warning

i think the beta level cap at the moment is 11

and may i have a round of applause for the return of the Gewehr 43,a German gun that wasnt present in COD3 online, you unlock it at rank 7

perks are pretty much the same, what i have seen anyway, except for the vehicle perks(you can have it so your turrent moves round quicker)

a great game, definetly picking it up....one problem though,i am not as good as i am on COD4(or as i was on COD1,2 and 3 for that matter)infact i stink on it,so time to go and get some practice in and get used to those map layouts

i think if you like Call Of Duty 4,then you will like this,it seems very much like a PC mod, that someone has done to give COD4 a WWII theme

EDIT:when at rank 11 you can unlock the perk to revive fallen teammates...but this only goes for those who are in a last stand situation(i.e on their ass)

and if anyone cares...all 6 of the comic videos(i think they are prequels to the main game)are up on the xbox live marketplace now,i have been downloading them as the months go by and not watching them until i have all 6,i will watch them tonight(i think they are only about 5-6 minutes long each

finally got in today(and it ends tomorrow night)

i was having fun with it,the single player i can see getting bored with after a while, but the thousands of other peoples levels were fantastic,i was loving them..even if most were pretty crap TBH,they were still fun just to see..and well made

one level had me standing on a button, and all these rocks fell one by one,and as they hit the floor they hit Piano notes and they played the metal gear solid theme..i thought..woah..and then that was the end of the level, short but sweet,i was still impressed though

i was much more impressed by other peoples efforts than the main game levels

i will play some more later

once there is a line for a south park episode it will lose everything

i liked this weeks episodeboth the Indiana Jones and the china story was funny.....Butters and Cartman are one of the best double acts on TV!!!!!

..the last 3 series of southpark(10,11 and this one)have really seen South Park become absolutely hilarious.(while it was just a funny show before then)

The China Probrem was funny but overall the episode was not as good as 'Overlogging'...when Stans dad was covered in 'Ectoplasm'

Randy Marsh being of course one of the best characters in the show

my favourite haunted house flick(The original, not the Shiiiite Catherine Zeta Jones/Owen Wilson/Liam Neeson remake)

Tha Haunting

or you could go for another haunted house

i think i will give this one a watch actually

Rose Red

or why not go for a little black comedy...although i dont think this falls in that area,as its outright hilarious

before Peter Jackson did lord of the rings

Peter Jacksons Braindead

'I Kick Ass For The Lord!!'

okay just got round to catching up,watched the first 4 episodes now

can i just say that i cannot believe that no one has said it on here(not that i saw anyway)...Mohinder testing himself, getting great abilities, jumping and crawling up the wall, sleeping with the girl...then it going wrong, side effects, scabby wierd shit on his back

David Cronenbergs The Fly(starring Jeff Goldblum)

tests himself

gets cool powers and sleeps with the gal

starts getting a bit skemmy

until fully formed

anyway,i agree they should ditch all this time travelling, its getting boring/silly now

the thing with Clair being 'evil'...so the first series was like 'save the cheerleader, save the world'..now its 'save the cheerleader condemn the world'

not sure if i like Sylars new role....but it does make me wonder now is he bad,is he good

oh and we left the cop in Africa following his animal to this 'totem' that will give him the answers..the animal being a tortoise...so thats just totally ripped off The Simpsons when homer trips out on that hot chilli.....the fox tells him to follow the tortoise,Homer gets inpatient and first pushes it along, and then kicks it for miles

Hiro and Ando are the most interesting of the show,as WalTer said
13270  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: It's October 2008: What's your GOTY so far? on: October 08, 2008, 07:57:00 PM
1-Metal Gear Solid 4....it exceeded expectations,in more or less all departments, the only thing i was dissapointed with was the installing of Acts, and then you had to reinstall the first act when starting again...and the fact that there was acts in the first place, prolly just to cover up for the installing...i loved how the story pretty much covered EVERYTHING,no stone unturned..Hideo is a genius

2-Grand Theft Auto 4....a lot of people have slated this, but to be honest i think it really has pushed the boat out for all its done and all it can do...this was the first GTA game i have completed, mainly i think because its a lot easier than past GTAs because of the lock on aim system...the city is certainly the star

3-Lost Odyssey...as a big fan of Final Fantasy games this was right up my street, the story was good, the gameplay was good, and even the comic relief was...funny!!!!!..a nice epic game as well,4 discs!!
i think the dreams were well done, even if it is a few screens of reading, they were good little stories

(Infinite Unidiscovery comes close to the top 3 as well)

games i liked but fell short

Final Fantasy VII:Crisis Core...i liked this game a lot,and the story as well but i just couldnt get used to the fruit machine wheel levelling,i am still playing this at dinner times at work(30 minutes each)..and its coming up to a month since i last levelled(i have 45% missions i think)..and i know that when i do level next i will level again 5 minutes later....this is how i have been levelling since the 20s..i am now 36...IMO the levelling is very broken..bring back EXP!!

Too Human...arghhh,i so wanted to love this game,i had been looking forward to it for some time, but when i finally played it..i got very bored very fast, just a different dungeon, but wave after wave after wave of enemies.....2 steps forward 1 step back...annoying

game to mention

the maps were lovely and big,it had lots of vehicles and even the single player wasnt bad.....Battlefield:Bad Company a good time online, even if it does take pretty much all of your magazine in your rifle to kill someone
