next new release game for me

360 -Lord Of The Rings:Conquest - 9th January 2009

should give me enough time for the games i have right now
saints row 2
fallout 3
gears of war 2
call of duty:world at war
banjo-kazooie:nuts n' bolts
perhaps the arcade banjo kazooie if MS get their asses in gear and supply me with the code
13122  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts on: November 17, 2008, 01:26:40 PM
done quite a bit now,the constant timed challenges and what have you are starting to annoy me..and that xlog720 world is terrible

other than that i am loving showdown world the most, the game worlds you go to are places i just dont want to go,playing around showdown world reminds me off Mario 64 AND Mario Sunshine,i think i only have one more world(perhaps two)to unlock, but have plenty of challenges to do yet

So far, I think it's almost as good as CoD4.  The MP is definitely every bit as addicting.  I've played through a few hours of the SP campaign, and my only complaint is that there seem to be a lot more problems with enemy and friendly AI with respect to detection and shooting at each other.  In the middle of a firefight in one of the Marine Raider campaigns, I came across a Marine and a Japanese soldier standing right out in the open, about a foot from each other, staring at each other and doing absolutely nothing.  A moment of sudden love at first sight?  A purely mental stare-down contest?  I've also seen friendly allies shooting into blank walls, backwards, or at enemies 200 yards away rather than the one standing 5 feet away who's shooting me

If they could fix that part, it would be pretty damn good.

wait until you get to a mission later on,get yerself a nice place to shoot, and one of your team pushes hisself infront of you..you either have to put up with it,or find another place..annoying,but that said..i havent had that many other annoying things like that, apart from the usual....'THERE WAS NO GRENADE INDICATOR!!!..YOU CHEATING BASTARD!!!!'  Roll Eyes

13124  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts on: November 16, 2008, 07:40:50 PM
okay i have been playing it for the last hour or so...and ...i am enjoying it

it does have that Mario 64 feeling to it,i am loving the graphics and cut scenes, the text does seem better, not sure if that is because of the update i had to install when i first put the game in or what(i thought it wasnt gonna be for a few more weeks yet)..i just wish some of the text could stay on the screen for a few seconds more,i still dont have time to read it all, apart from the text that progresses when i press A

being a Banjo Virgin,at the beginning i was a little lost, the bired was telling me to use a certain skill..as i was truggling to get up a hill with me being a fat bear an all, didnt know what it was going on about and tried pressing all the buttons but nothing happened so i take it i wasnt meant to use the skill

the vehicle creation thing i havent really got into yet,and not sure that part of the game even appeals to me,but i like riding around town and getting out to get some of the harder to reach music notes

i have unlocked 3 doors, tow on thefirst building and another in another part of town(got the achievement next-next gen..something about a LOGBOX 720,lol)

i love how the other part of town opened up,and then there was much more to go explore

i am figureing some of the characters are prolly from the first two games,so perhaps i would be liking it even more seeing all the old faces(this is why i wanted my damn code,so i could play the first game)..but right now,i am certainly just getting to grips with it...hopefully it can keep me entertained, and not get tedious like most platform type games get

EDIT:oh,and i took a photo and uploaded it to Banjo-Kazooie.com,i was hoping to post the pic here, but it appears the photo showroom isnt running yet on the site..but once it is,expect to see lots of photos

Dome blows

haha, what i do is set up a private match and dont invite anybody and change the maps,so i can fully explore them and get used to them for when i go online

when it came to Dome,i thought woah..there is another level down there(down the drop)..i tried for a few minutes to get down there(even tried jumping)..but then realised that there was no way to get to the lower level, and the map instantly became poor...if that other level was accessable it could of been a great and intersting map

all the other maps i am quite pleased with except Makin,i still hate that map

outskirts is prolly my favourite,as it is just so damn big, hanger is also a good one

EDIT:i finished the main campaign yesterday on regular, and did a few levels on veteran...the zombie mode is good, but totally not designed for single player

i have sent them an email..and one to Microsoft as well, asking why the game is still full price here in the UK(call of duty was cheaper)

by the way,has anything been said about this game being released on Remembrance Day?..or has it tried to cash in on a promotion or something?...or is it maybe just a coincidence

although i think Remembrance day is more for WWI,i do think they use it for all war heroes, from all wars past and present

'the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918'

i take it you guys have Rembrance day over there?..here in the UK the game isnt released until Friday

360:
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
Call of Duty: World at War

and a supermarket near me was having a 24 hr only sale for Gears of War 2,for £30(should be £40)..so i caved and bought that..after banjo and call of dooty this friday, these will prolly be my last games of the year..me thinks..i still have saints row 2 to finish(which i am still loving)and of course the mighty Fallout 3,which i can't even imagine finishing properly this year..and damn,i still havent tried the new maps in battlefield bad company...so plenty to do still

I would like to chime in and say this game is incredibly addicting!  Just started it last night and I'm already absorbed in the game world and attached to my character.  I created a female character.  I'm still in the vault and loving this game!  I think the Arizona sun is getting to Pete because the entire vault sequence is fun as hell and really, really sets the story and tone for the game.  I'm afraid to leave the vault until I explore every nook and cranny.  I don't want to miss anything.  Is there only one bobblehead in the vault?

A question about an early encounter in the vault:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Was there any way to save Butch's mom or was it prescripted that she dies?  I delayed in getting to the room to help her out and hope the delay did not cost her life.  I felt really bad because despite the way Butch treated me I really wanted to help.

Spoiler for Hiden:
i saved her,you have to be fast to get the roaches...Butch is pretty cool with you after that..and yes, there is only one bobblehead in vault 101
13134  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fallout 3 Collectors guide on: November 09, 2008, 01:09:11 PM
saying all this though,it does have a pretty decent list of a lot of stuff at the back,no it isnt in alphabetical order

360 Achievements
Bobblehead locations
Fat Men-thats a wepaon to the new players,LOL
Fat Men:Mini Nukes
Unique weapons and outfits
Nuka Cola Quantums(location of all the special bottles)
Schematics locations(which i am hopefully get hold off the rest i need today)
Pre-War Books Locations
Skill Book locations..all 13 different copies, yet hundreds of locations
and holotapes for a certain quest

at the front, the training section has all the perks and all the weapons, all the beasts, weapons and armour

I"m finding the learning curve - just to get into the game - to be a bit steep for me, but I know that will ease up as I learn the controls, so that's no big deal.  As soon as that is over, I'll likely be signing up for a 12 Step Program for FO3 addiction.  I'm just a bit overwhelmed right now, lol.  icon_eek

Myto,i would agree that the learning curve is steep, took me an hour or two to really get used to everything, but once you are there....

i would prolly say be Vigilant when reading this thread,i put up some stuff that pissed SensousLettuce off, even though i wasnt really aware it was that much of a spoiler..what spoilers are,is different for different people

and X is to get out/and put away your weapon(or in this case, put up your dukes)

i made level 17 last night, and have ..i think nearly 40 hrs in

i saw something as well about level 20 perk
Spoiler for Hiden:
i was looking at the perks for level 20,and there are some good ones, like gaining health in sunshine/day...but the one i think i will choose when i get there, will be the 'uncover/discover everything on your map' perk...then i can go to those locations and hopefully miss as little as possible in this game...as i am betting i still have a ton of stuff to discover in Oblivion

when can we expect your review,Ron?..I am looking forward to it

Do you mean Liam in real life or that your character looks like Liam's character?  Because making Dad look like you is intentional.  You only get a blurry look at Dad's face before you make your choices and the game creates a "Dad" that looks like he's related to you.

Melee is definitely a possibility, but you're gonna be beat up a LOT until you get some decent armor. I also haven't seen any uber-amazing melee weapons either (but I have seen quite a few guns).

Isn't there some kind of piston-based 'power glove' out there?  icon_neutral

Yup! Found some video of it in use as well: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kkf5InkvI3Y

I found that glove.  I think it was in either the Arlington Library or the Jefferson Memorial.

i got two gloves today..both different but...(wait for it)....both pack one hell of a punch. disgust

Spoiler for Hiden:
one was from the flooded Metro,it was called the Shocker, and it is an experimental glove..that is so,so

the other was the power glove,i got that while finally doing another main quest(scientific pursuits)..which got me to travel to the Jefferson Merorial(so you were right about it being there CK)..that glove is a bit better, although i still prefer my Deathclaw Gauntlet

13139  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Have a SDTV? No visible text in Banjo-Kazooie: NaB for you! on: November 08, 2008, 06:55:37 PM
Microsoft/RARE have caved

http://kotaku.com/5080537/rare-about+faces-teeny+tiny-sdtv-text-will-be-fixed

Quote
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts players gaming on antique standard-defiinition television sets have in some cases been unable to read dialogue text, which shows up fine on HDTV sets. This is kind of an issue as there's no voice acting in the game and the dialogue delivers clues for what you're supposed to do next. Originall, Rare's George Killion said SDTV was SOL and there would be no fix.

Comes now George to pass word from Microsoft PR that the text issue will in fact be patched. Here is the statement, posted on the Banjo Blog.

“It has come to our attention that people are experiencing subtitle [dialogue text] readability issues with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on Standard Definition TVs. We would like to assure you that contrary to earlier reports, we are aware of the issue and currently working on a title update to be released within the next 30 days that will fix it for those with Standard Definition TVs. We’re committed to ensuring all fans of the franchise are able to have the best experience possible with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.”

No word on when the patch is available, but it sounds like it's a priority if Microsoft PR is taking charge.

i am not sure what to think yet,PSW magazine(i think thats PlayStation World)gives Call Of Duty:World At War...are you ready?...10 out of 10,and also go on to add thats its better than COD4

Quote
"So to hold the position that it's sequel, World At War, is a better game, is surely to stir up some controversy. That's right, Treyarch has toppled Infinity Ward."

now i think i was the only person in the world to like it going back to WWII(sure i wouldnt of minded seeing WWI or vietnam..but still happy)..but i am suprised with this score, for one-no game is perfect(right?)..and 2,i have played the beta, and although it does keep me going back to it,something isnt quite right, maybe the maps arent as big as i'd like(i want Battlefield:bad company size maps!!)

i am sure the story will be better than COD4,what with all the graphic limb amputees that we see in the beta, and perhaps ending better, but its the multiplayer that counts for me,i downloaded all the vids on the xbox live marketplace yesterday,co-op looks good fun,the zombie add on,and the other maps in multiplayer look okay

but still 10/10...its a bold statement anyway, and PSW certainly putting their heads on the block

Agreed.  I just got mine, and the game, yesterday. I wasn't prepared for the shipping to be so fast, lol, so I still have one Fable 2 quest to polish off, then it will be all about Fallout 3. Yay!

I only have one criticism of the guide - and it's true of almost every game guide - there is no Index.  I would think that a computer program would provide one without too much added expense.  It would certainly help to search for the one answer you need when you don't want to ruin your game by too much info.   I'm spoiled by "Find" in 'net browsers, apparently...  icon_cry

hey Mighty O....Page 3 and 4(or 2 and 3,however you wanna look at it) of the guide may help some, its the table of contents icon_smile

Oh very funny, very funny indeed!  Tongue

Lmao, I want alphabetized (even though you may want alphabetised)!  Is that really so much to ask?

Yes.

i agree, making an alphabetical index of everything would take up another 200 pages,LOL

the way i went about, when i wasnt doing the main quest was go exploring, then when you come across something,to look it up,look at your map on your pip boy and then the map that came with the guide(which i have stuck up on my wall next to where i play)..so you can find out which ZONE the newly discovered location is in,then that table of contents will be a bit more useful for you..as you will see, they have the locations in zones in the contents

and what the hell myto.....you have your own personal smiley face collection?..LOL

I caved at 40 gargoyles.  I have no memory, so even if I'd already gotten 2 of the 3 in an area, I have no clue which I'd found or where I'd already searched.

This is when a guide really helps.

if you go under quests and then regions each one tells you how many gargoyles are in that region and how many you've destroyed.  that's how I found all of them.

Yup, been there, done that!  But all I have are the 'Net descriptions, since I never got the guide for it, and the descriptions were too confusing.  I'd check a map and see I needed one more gargoyle in a certain place, and wandered all over trying to use the directions (even following every wall, CeeKay, since that is one of my favorite strategies) - but still got all tangled up and lost.  I multiplied that by the 10 that I still needed, and decided I was okay at 40.   slywink

I find myself getting crankier and crankier about the need to get guides for many games and have been trying to do without. I'm good with getting 1/2 to 3/4 of the Achievements for a game, so will only try for the hardest or most time-consuming ones in a game that has really captured me.  I'd have to say that, though I really loved Fable 2, it did not compel me to acquire everything available. Mind you, I'm not saying I won't ever go back to the game, lol... but I'm definitely done with it for now...

shit me myto, you should of said,i could of sent you my guide, seen as though i used it for all of 4 days(well the game for 4 days,i hardly looked at the guide)...or at least you could of got the locations from me

either give me a shout when i am on LIVE or send me an email of the locations that still have Gargoyles in

ahh, thats the same message i found on the mercs who jumped me,i presumed it WAS Burke...and thats why i have vowed to find him and kill him in the most amusing way..although i am thinking this wont be possible

the good thing about this when exploring,if you are low on health..and you come across a location that you have discovered, you can fast tarvel home and rest/get supplies and then fast tarvel back to that location and then just carry on...when trying to get somehwhere, finding locations inbetweens are embraced by me in the same way save points are embraced after doing a very long mission(not just this game)

i was thinking that Fallout needed weather, but after putting some thought into it,the rain would prolly be Acid rain...so you would have to stay indoors if it happened,so not a good idea i guess..it would spoil the typical view of Apocolyptic aftermath that we are used to seeing in movies

i love the fact kinda like what MSduncan says(It really feels like there is this barren wasteland in front of you)
when you look across the barren wasteland,it is all there for you to see,and travel to...see that flyover on the horizon, lets go to it...looking in the direction for the location you are about to discover...yup,there it is..i guess Oblivion(sorry for comparing, can't help it)..was more hilly so you couldnt really have that long range vision

and also,Kudos to the view from the top of Tenpenny tower and Washington Monument..thats just gobsmacking right there

just when you think this game can't get any bigger you stumble across a massive metro system in DC(thats what i did today)

The nice folks at Bethesda Softworks are just about as pleased as punch with the launch of Fallout 3, to the point where they've decided to cut loose with a press release just to let everyone known how well things are going. Released just last Tuesday for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Games for Windows platform, Bethesda has shipped an estimated 4.7 million copies of the game to retail outlets all across North America and the UK, representing retail sales of more than $300 million - that's a million times the amount of money I have in my bank account right now. Of course those are shipping numbers, but the sales have been flowing quite nicely as well.

the game has is yet to be released in Japan..wonder how they will take to it?

Just put in some random numbers that go along with their format.
Ex.
12345/01-044
You have to have the '/01-044' though, you can randomly put numbers in it and it will give you a beta key to your email address. =]
You're welcome.

i have just tried this(it gives you a choice between PC and 360)..it said thanks and the email was to be sent out starting from the 5th Nov,i havent got the email yet..but its worth a try

i did try that with the underworld mule,he is pretty cool,...however after seeing how far i could push him,4 super mutants two with mini guns...he downed 3 but the last one got him

so i reloaded...now i know my/his limits..he is pretty good with the shotgun though one or two shots usually kills a super mutant,so as long as you dont get ambushed by lots of them, you should be cool...think i may save my game and then put him up with one of the gi-normous mutants(the 1 of 7 )..see how he does,LOL

okay, not only is Walter 'missing' from Megaton now,but Moriarty has done one as well,it feels as though i am in a murder whodunit mystery

question on megaton/mr Burke
Spoiler for Hiden:
okay,i didnt blow Megaton up.....so what i wanna know is will i ever see Mr Burke again,i tried looking for him at Tenpenny tower but couldnt see him anywhere

i wanna find him for two reasons
1-i wanna steal his key to get into his Megaton house
2-i wanna murder the bastard for hireing Mercs to kill me....he called me a do gooder in the mercs contract!!

perhaps they get too close to the bomb? I wonder if that will kill them, with the radiation and all? stupid people building their town around a nuclear bomb, sigh...

played today...and i found the Sherrif dead on the ramp next to the clinic, not sure but i am guessing he fell from above....so,i er...stole his hat and coat...I'm the NEW law in town,LOL

his son knows he is dead..
Spoiler for Hiden:
then i remembered that the sheriff could of been killed by Mr Burke, had i of grassed on Burke ..so i guess his son has taken on as though that happened

anyway,Megaton is starting to get empty of people i can actually talk to..Moriarty and Walter still havent showed up...i thought Nathaniel was also missing as his wife was asking for him and i couldnt find him, however he was in the clinic...actually he is always in the clinic..hmm

holy cow,a friend has just told me this

Quote
Heres an extremely helpful tip. Go to the Underworld in the museum of history. Take a left and go up the stairs, and talk to the bartender about the man in the corner. He is the bartenders brainwashed slave. If you talk to the bartender, he will offer the slave for 1,000, 2,000, caps, or a "deal". The deal is killing the rival bartender. Wait til she goes outside the underworld on a smoke break and kill her. The bartender will give you the slave. His name is Charon. He has unlimited ammo for himself, and a combat shotgun and leather armomr that never degenerates. Its exclusive to him, but he can really do some damage w/ it. He can carry any and all of your stuuf, just like a good ol pack mule. When in a battle he will lose a lil health. Right when all the hostiles are killed, his health will automatically regenerate after the fight. As long as you engage the enemy, hell be ok and you'll get the xp. Its awesome all around.

if thats true, that would be pretty cool,as i am always maxing out my weight..has anyone else tried this?

Bobby pins!!! I'm almost out of them and can't seem to come across them. Where can I find these little wonders?

i have been on about a dozen all through the game, its been swings and roundabouts for me,just when i break a few, luck will have it i then find a few....mainly in first aid boxes scattered about,i wouldn't mind finding someone who sells them though
13157  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Have a SDTV? No visible text in Banjo-Kazooie: NaB for you! on: November 06, 2008, 02:32:18 AM
i played the demo, and the text isnt that bad(SONY SDTV widescreen Vega 32")..but a lot of people are complaining about it on xbox.com..the text IS small, but i am getting by with it alright, however some of the text comes up and then goes very quickly,so i dont get a chance to read it.,LOL

as for the XBLA size thing, seems as though MS make up the rules as they go along, the size of the actual games arent meant to be bigger than 250mb at the moment i think(or that is their cap),however..i think Portal last week was something like 700mb

I don't know who sierra was. Didn't know there was a nuka cola quest. I've never heard of paradise falls. Don't know who Grouse is and specifically haven't looked at achievements for fear of spoilers.

ooookk, the nuka cola quest was first mentioned a few pages back,i didnt start that, suprising that you dont know about these quests or places as you have the guide, have you not looked into it?..i told you about Paradise falls because i made a major mistake,i didnt want anyone else to do the same and miss a quest,sorry...also,the guide lists the achievements,as well as looking into the achievements from your profile..although i think them hardly spoiler worthy,if they were spoiler worthy i reckon they would of been made into secret acheivements

there are quite a few things in this thread that i havent heard of for one
Spoiler for Hiden:
someone going on about Talon mercs camp with a big battle against Raiders and Robots, and the robots win..and what the hell is everyone going on about about taking mysterious stranger?,take him where and where is he?

but i still dont see that as major spoilage,i think you can expect some kind of spoilers(obviously not major ones)..but anyway i will spoiler anything i think will spoil anything in the game ..appologies Lettuce icon_smile
