GameInformer had a big preview on it a while back.  The battle system is turn-based with your dragons doing the fighting.  There are 9 classes, and you can mix and match abilities from the different classes.  Enemies are visible, and you have field skills you can use get the enemies to fight each other or to fight several enemy groups in a row for bonuses.

Hmm this does not sound at all like what I was expecting, but I am tentatively prepared to label this "cool" for right now. It has potential. I need to read more about it or see it in action.

what was you expecting?...its from the makers of FF,thats more or less what i was expecting(apart from the visible enemies,thats a bonus) with a mega massive emotional story attached...over 3 DVDs,i really cant wait for this,i had already heard,and seen the dragons doing the fighting for you,they come up from behind you acting a bit like a shadow,maybe...the 'making enemies fight each other' is ..hmm,unique..hope you still get XP,lol

i am a big 360 fan and plan on getting a ps3,but only next year...but i must admit,this looks great,some of the actions for your toon remind me of final fantasy 11,looks like the same kind of input commands as an MMO as well(star wars online also springs to mind for the characters...and remember SWO is sony as well)

my characters are super strong now,levelling is such a joy,in final fantasy 11 when you level the xp from the early monsters goes down...but here it stays the same

sony will still have their exclusive download epsiodes of GTA 4...but so will the 360...which i am still not sure if that is wise,if you have/had both machines..would that make you get both versions

sony are running out of excusives that I care about,but overall i dont think it will effect the real sony fanbase,they will still be able to get the game

it wasnt so much the speed in the new 13 battle system that bothered me,but more the inputting commands while it was fast battle,like calvin said in his views on the battle system in 12,you can be hands off or hands on if you want....that for me was great,but here,being a fast battle and inputting actions for all your crew...just sounds ,like i said..a bitch,hopefully they wont be...it is proberbly well over a year away for me anyway

as for FF11>FF12 world.....both are well done(unless you compare the bland outside of bastok in number 11)..and i havent seen all of number 12s world yet

remember that new final fantasy MMORPG for 360,PC and maybe PS3...people said it would be Ivalice,that would nt be to bad,but i think the towns would have to change,most are very cramped i thought,great for single player,but wouldnt be to great for an MMO...me thinks


oh and one more thing about 12,it does seem to be steering away from other final fantasies...a lot of the monsters i dont recognise from the usual in final fantasy games,although i have just come across a marboro,but i suppose thats a good thing,as then we would instantly know how to deal with them

i waltzed through final fantasy 1 on the GBA,killing everything with ease....then i got to the final boss,and it was like rock f*&king solid...it was like i  was playing two different games

i have been levelling like no tomorrow,what with larsa practiaclly power levelling me,it was an oppertunity i couldnt miss....levelled mainly on ozmose fields,and continued into the jungle and have just reached the bunny ear women village....all my charcaters are level 28 now(apart from larsa,the guest,he is 27)...34hrs in

oh,and been selling crap as well,i now have 10,000gil....all of my charcaters now have 3 quickenings each,so the magic bars all have 3 lots,and have about 300-400LP for me to play with when i get the chance

wondering if ever i go back to the previous final fantasies....will it be even more like a drag when i go back to the old way of grinding?

i have just entered the giza plains(rain)...and i have noticed that Panelo had a really big magic bar...(she didnt last time i was out in the field with her)...when looking i saw that her magic was 171....she is only level 20

further more,when i pressed triangle button to get the party select screen ...i saw that she had 171 magic....and her max was 84!!!

how the hell does that happen?.....i used some of her magic to see if it worked,and it did ,but it kind of worked in 2 sections,an orange section down to half way,and then a light purple section underneath...can anyone explain this?....she has no special equippment on,is this meant to happen perhaps?

LOL you are so silly, you must not have read the section on "quickenings". You probably unlocked a quickening on the license board and forgot or didn't realize it. That effectively doubles your magic points and allows you to cast powerful quickenings under the "mist" button on the combat menu. Give it a try today

oh,okay...i have unlocked quickenings for all of them,and used them many a time...i never knew,or noticed that it effected your magic though,i just saw that you had to have a full magic bar to use them

good to see viva pinata got in there for 360,i was pleasantly suprised by that when playing it,it had the addictiveness of sim city on the SNES

i got my 360 a few weeks after launch,and i am still thrilled with it

hopefully you wont be part of the 90% of the people who have had troubles(red lights)


the controller IS the best there is,its just so snug,and all the buttons are in the right places....the analogue sticks are perfect,makes the duel shock 2(and sixaxis) feel odd

i recommend Elder Scrolls IV:oblivion
