Thanks Pete,i didn't even know we had a Wolverine thread,i thought this was unofficially it
12522  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Happening Trailer on: May 12, 2009, 09:53:35 PM
not sure what happened to this shyamalan guy,he seemed to be a breath of fresh air

a lot of people like the Sixth Sense,i liked it but some bastard told me the ending of the film...so i pretty much saw through all the plot holes on first watch, its still a good film though.(good twist at the end if some bleeder didnt tell you the ending)

Unbreakable is my favourite,i really like how it is 'the making off' a superhero and his arch enemy...its a bit on the quiet side though, which put a lot of my friends of the movie(good twist at the end)

Signs i hated...i like Joaquin Phoenix..Mel Gibson isn't as good as he used to be but i can still put up with him..but the film was more than anything a big disappointment..which makes that one stand out more than the others for me at being shit(can't for the life of me remember the ending)

The Village was better than Signs but it still wasn't mega great....but what was Impressive was Dallas Bryce Howard(end twist wasnt so great)

the other two of his films i haven't seen...but i have friends who have said they aren't that good..even though i don't really listen to anyone else when it comes to movies

just seen Wolverine....can't say i am that looking forward to seeing a Deadpool spin off, just doesn't interest me,i just found him to be very irratateing, but that may very well be Ryan Reynolds..please God don't give him back a mouth

you must not have stayed after the credits...

hmm,i have no idea what you mean

if you stayed after the cast credits, you get the Military Police arresting Stryker

if you stayed after the whole credits

you get wolverine getting served a drink form a Japanese Barmaid and tells her that he is drinking to remember..i at first thought the Barmaid to be Mariko, but then rethought as she(Mariko) is meant to be a noble woman, but then again it could be telling us that Logan is in Japan where he meets and falls in love with Mariko

so,what does that have to do with the Deadpool spin-off,have i missed something?

Spoiler for Hiden:
i will be choosing family this time, quitting and then reloading and choosing Sacrifice(get the achievements i missed first time round),especially as now you can bring your dog back on Knothole Island no matter what your choices were('family' choice was originally the only way to bring back your dog)

does the game give you time to do that?  I thought it autosaved before it gave you the achievement.

yeah thats what i found out first time round...i believe it does give you time,me being greedy i wanted to see what my prize was at the heroes guild(a million quid was not really worth it seen as though at the time i had oodles of cash)..and it wasnt until i was on the beach at Oakfield that it autosaved, and i thought....shit

i have the first on DVD,quite enjoyed it ...haven't got round to the second(i have the books and i think this is actually only the second written, not the 2nd in the series of 7...just like Lion witch and Wardrobe is the second in 7)

Like 'His Dark Materials',the NARNIA books were heavy with Religion undertones

EDIT:

Quote
Publication order---------------/------------Chronological order
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe-/----The Magician's Nephew
Prince Caspian-----------------------/-----The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader----/------The Horse and His Boy
The Silver Chair---------------------/------Prince Caspian
The Horse and His Boy--------------/------The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Magician's Nephew-------------/------The Silver Chair
The Last Battle---------------------/-----The Last Battle

the second DVD is a fiver(5 is very cheap,a bottle of 2ltr Coke costs 1.70...so its like same cost as 3-4 bottles,LOL) in HMV at the moment,i have been meaning to go pick it up

IMDB still have Dawn Trader listed for 2010..and someone says in the message boards there that the excact date is 10th December 2010

Kotaku have this to say regarding the Soundtrack on Final Fantasy 13 360 version...English only,No japanese track(maybe)
http://kotaku.com/5250173/japanese-voices-on-xbox-360-final-fantasy-xiii-who-needs-em

Quote
Hey, did you hear? In the West, FFXIII is coming to the PS3 and the Xbox 360. The PS3 has Blu-ray. The Xbox 360 does not.

So when it comes to things like adding extra voice tracks, that might be difficult for the Xbox 360 version. According to Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase, "Obviously, when we talk about XIII it's for PS3 and Xbox with PS3 being on Blu ray there would be enough memory, but on Xbox probably not. At the moment we're thinking of releasing the voice in English only. Are there many people who would like to play with Japanese voices?"

Um... Yes. This must be a trick question. We're sure of it.

the part i have bolded,he doesn't actually say they may release the English only for the 360,he just says release the English only..so does that mean the PS3 version as well?..although he is talking about there being enough memory for the PS3 version

to be honest, this isn't like its a deal breaker,..by pure luck i happen to speak English(though some on here may question that i can't spell words from it  icon_confused )...but i wouldn't mind a choice...last night i watched the original Japanese version of The Grudge, with Japanese soundtrack and English Subtitles..its better that way

and they also posted this 'Hilarious' disgust picture of a 360 version with many, many discs....this joke never gets old(!)..you hear me!!

saying that though if the PS3 version does take up a lot of room, will that mean installing acts?...i heard the Blu Ray discs themselves are too advanced for the PS3 when it comes to using the most of the disc...and that's why we had to install acts in MGS4,christ knows where i have heard that, prolly the PS3 forums again

yeah i loved the books-the first one being called Northern Lights here in the UK,not Golden Compass...not sure why they changed it,both titles are relevant to the story, and Americans know what the Northern Lights are, seen as though they are usually in your Continent,so it isn't like Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone being changed to Sorcerers stone(both book and film title was changed for the American audience i believe)

anyway i watched the film at Xmas, wasn't anything special,it was so-so,which was a shame because it had a great cast(Nicole Kidman,Daniel Craig,Sam Elliot,Ian Mckellen,Christopher Lee,Eva Green)..i reckon that the planned sequels are out of the window, right?

why didnt it work?....the Director(Chris Weitz) isnt that well experienced in the Directors chair,he has done 'About a Boy' and had something to do with the first American Pie...he also had a hand at writing the movie...maybe he was the reason, maybe not,but then again maybe it was just one of those books that shouldn't be attempted to put on film(which LOTR was meant to be for the longest time)

its a shame for the lead Dakota Blue Richards, that was her first film and i didn't think she was all that bad

The Spire was rather incredible, tense and a welcome break for the lush fields of Oakfield. A good reminder that there was true evil out there, and not just the pushover bandits that still persists from time to time.

For some reason many bandits are now ninjas/assasins, so I guess they learned a bit in the 10 years I was gone.

update:Okay that Freezing thing may just be me as i just put my 360 on and put Fable 2 on and the whole thing froze....totally knew what was going to happen i restarted my 360,and ....RRoD...dah daaaaaah

my first real RRoD as last Aprils was really the E74..and the August before that the Disc Tray packed up

i am a bit pissed off though as i have just transferred all my licenses to this xbox, and no doubt they will give me a different 360 again this time round...thats if they fix it,as i bought it day one..but because they have given me a different machine when the E74 thing happened,it has a Manufactory date of 2007<<so i am gonna play dumb, say i dunno when i bought it but tell them that date

when my 360 first packed up with the disc tray fault i went out and bought another 360,that 360 has been at my sisters(who never uses it,and always plays on the Wii disgust...and she supports Liverpool  finger   )..so she is bringing that 360 round now..so,i will be back on the 360/fable tonight

however, will the DLC work?(different 360 same HDD)..i have just bought all the fallout 3 DLC as well...will that work?...will i need to be online all the time to play it?..i wish they would sort out that stuff,if i have bought it,that should be the end of it

OK, Knothole Island is seriously pissing me off, like throw the controller into a brick and rip the game disc out of the drive pissed off.  I'm towards the end, and there's a bit where you have to hit those stupid fucking targets.  there's five of them, staring off with a ranged attack, going to a magic attack, and then back and forth.  the problem is the goddamn things only stay put for about 2 seconds before resetting to the last one.  I hope they drop these targets in Fable 3, they are fucking annoying.

oh man i just did that yesterday, was a fucking bastard that is..i hated it.....i didnt even know what the red one was(couldn't see what the sign was)..but i got my inferno going and used that

once i found out you could 'direct' the spell(push on the stick in the direction of the target while pressing B) i was a bit better and finally put it to rest..i did it so many times though i still have the sequence memorised

another thing i hate is the menu's stick/freeze a lot...so when i am in a village pull up the menu, look into it,then when i want to come out,i keep pressing B because it sticks for a while...and i end up doing a level 3 inferno spell in the middle of town

and it may just be my very old controller but why do i have so much trouble trying to view the Houses info with that little board outside the house...i keep pressing A for the life of me and trying to look at the board in all directions...pain in the ass

http://www.gamingfront.net/news/571/lost-damned-release-ps3-date-revealed/

For months now PlayStation 3 gamers have been asking when will the Lost & Damned DLC come to the PSN Store?
PSW Magazine recently published an article in their magazine saying that Microsoft only had a 6 Month Exclusivity Deal for 'The Lost and Damned' add-on for Grand Theft Auto IV. This means  that the add-on will be released on August 20th 2009. So everyone get ready because it will come sooner rather than later!

if true, that means MS would of paid $50mil(or $25 mil, however you want to see it)for the 6 months exclusivity...ouch,but then again i heard it broke all records on XBL,so perhaps they have made their money back

also,a few months after that date the 360 is due the second DLC

It's actually a part of the Assassin's Creed mythos. You're playing the memories of your ancestor.

LOL,either that or ....when was Brokeback Mountain made? icon_lol

ahh me and myto are always talking about Sherlock Holmes, and mainly the Jeremy Brett ones(the adventures, the casebook, the return, the memoirs)...i told Myto just the otehr day that i went to Granada Studios tour in the late 80s early 90s(here in manchester)and went on the set of Baker Street

am i looking forward to this?...i am 50/50 right now,i love the books, some of the pictures i have seen are everything Sherlock Holmes wasnt,Jude Law looks the part...Guy Ritchie can be a good director,so i am hoping this turns out to be good

i am more looking forward to the Cohen/Ferrrel comedy, especially if its anywhere as good as Caine/Kingsley Without a clue..or even the Gene Wilders 'Sherlock Holmes smarter younger brother'..where Wilder is jealous of his older brother

Orville: Are you Mister S., for Sigerson, Holmes?
Sigerson Holmes: Perhaps.
Orville: Do you have a brother whose first name is Sherlock?
Sigerson Holmes: I do not.
Orville: You do have a brother?
Sigerson Holmes: I do.
Orville: Might I inquire as to his first name?
Sigerson Holmes: "Sheer luck."

I'm very excited by CODMW2 announcement but I wish Ubi would announce the next GR/R6 already!  I know Vegas 2 was a bit of a letdown but that series feels less run-n-gun to me than COD.  It's a good time to be a tactical FPS fan though, there's also ArmA 2 and Op Flash 2.  Amercia's Army 3?

I would knock metalicorphan's mom into the gutter and step on her neck to get the next Ghost Recon.

she would prolly kick your ass!!,LOL

Ghost Recons and Rainbow 6s didnt do it for me...loved the last gen versions(island Thunder was brilliant) but this gen i just couldn't get into any of them

Activision's confirmed that the 'Call of Duty' brand is back in the title of hugely-anticipated CoD 4 sequel, Modern Warfare 2, after a teaser trailer removed the series moniker altogether.

Speaking during its quarterly earnings call last night, Activision boss Michael Griffith said he expects Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 to be the "must-have title of the year", while confirming that the original has sold shit loads.

"When the original Modern Warfare was introduced two years ago, it set a new bar for first person action games," he said. "Catalog sales for this game continue to be strong and to date, we've sold more than 13 million units worldwide."

No details have leaked as yet, but expect mags full of new info to land around E3 - where the big reveal is due to happen.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is out on November 10.
