My satellite TV provider(SKY) has an On Demand service,and they had the first 3 seasons of Mad Men,so i thought i would download them and give them a go,and I have been massively enjoying them

I don't hear much about this TV series to be honest,either in the stuff i read or even on here,yet looking it up it wins a lot of awards and has some great metacritic scores

Jon Hamm,is perfect as Don Draper an ex Korean War veteran with a past,but admittedly he annoys the hell out of me sometimes with the decisions he makes(usually involving having Sex with the wrong person,LOL),and wish sometimes he would go easy on Peggy

I also love Roger Sterling(John Slattery who also played Howard Stark in Iron Man 2..yeah i know!),funniest character for me

and yes Hepcat,i do actually like Lane Pryce,as stuffy and uptight as he is I like the character(he played Moriarty in the RDJ Sherlock Holmes films)

EA software engineer Bob Summerwill has criticised Nintendo's Wii U console for being 'less powerful than Xbox 360' and lacking viability for third party publishers.

Summerwill, who according to this Linkedin profile is a senior software engineer and architect at Electronic Arts, launched his attack on the Wii U via Twitter in response to posts relating to EA's current lack of Wii U development.

"The Wii U is crap," began Summerwill's multi-post outburst. "Less powerful than an XBOX360. Poor online/store. Weird tablet. Nintendo are walking dead at this point."

Summerwill went on to say that, "Nintendo platforms have always been very poor revenue-wise for third parties," claiming, "only Mario and Zelda make money," in reference to the historical trend -particularly on Wii - for first-party Nintendo titles to dominate software sales on its platforms.

Summerwill criticised Nintendo's hardware philosophy with Wii U when compared with its current rivals. "Sony, MS, Apple, Google all following the same playbook... standard, powerful, hardware, with focus on software and services.

"Nintendo are still operating like it's 1990. They should have 'done a Sega' and offered Mario/Zelda as PS4/Durango exclusives," he said, suggesting Nintendo exit the console business as did Sega after its failed Dreamcast console in 2001.

"Instead they make this awful console, and [Wii Street U]. Just stop it! Just make great games!" he pleaded.

Speaking more specifically about EA's present lack of Wii U development, Summerwill said, "Yep, we've got plenty of problems, but Wii U isn't where that family/casual market is. It's on mobile/tablet now.

"It is an utterly intentional decision to focus our resources on markets which actually matter... like mobile, and Gen4," he added, with 'Gen 4' being how some publishers are referring to the next generation of consoles (PS4/next-Xbox).

EA yesterday confirmed that it has "no games in development for the Wii U", delivering a potentially devastating blow to Nintendo's Wii U campaign.

Earlier today, an EA rep confirmed that there will be no FIFA 14 on Wii U because of the "disappointing" sales of FIFA 13 on the console. This comes after the publisher confirmed it will also not be releasing a Wii U version of this year's Madden NFL 25.

Police were called to a science fiction convention after an argument between two rival groups of fans.

Trouble flared at the fourth Norwich Sci-Fi and Film Convention at the University of East Anglia, organised by Norwich Star Wars Club.

Police were called after members of the rival Norwich Sci-Fi club arrived to get autographs from two Doctor Who actors at the event on Sunday.

A spokesman said they had been called to reports of a man being assaulted at the convention.

"After a lengthy investigation, talking to witnesses and reviewing good CCTV footage, it was confirmed that there was no assault," the spokesman said.

Jim Poole, treasurer of Norwich Sci-Fi Club, said there was a history of rivalry and disputes between the two clubs, which both hold their own conventions in the city.

He said he had attended Sunday's event with another club member to get the autographs of actors Graham Cole and Jeremy Bulloch for a Doctor Who diary to be auctioned for charity.

Mr Poole said he was wearing a club top and his fellow member was dressed as the fifth Doctor, as played by Peter Davison.

He said once inside the hall, he received verbal abuse from a member of the rival club and called the police.

Dominic Warner, secretary of Norwich Star Wars Club, said: "It's been blown up as if it was a fight. There was no fighting."

He acknowledged there had been disputes between club members in the past, but said: "There is no bad feeling between the two clubs. We have never interfered with them.

"It does sound comical. People that dress up in costume are labelled geeks and some people laugh at us, and this just makes it even more so."

He said the two clubs were having discussions about a meeting to resolve their differences.

I have pretty much lost the thread with Dragons Dogma because of watching Mad Men(so addictive -finish one episode,GOTTA WATCH THE NEXT!!!),just about to start season 4,and i want to get Arrested Development seasons 1,2 and 3 watched before the new one arrives on netflix next week

Last week it came out that EA currently had 15 Frostbite 3 developed games in production that would not release for the Wii U,they also supposedly ruled out any future DICE and Visceral EA Star Wars games as they will all use the DICE developed engine

We all have our own digs at EA,but their catalogue is still impressive to any Console especially when games sell by the bucket load to those loyal fans,all those sports games year after year,the shooters,the sequels(and now Star Wars games)....whatever you think of them,they sell and as of late the Frostbite engine seems to be a major player for EA games that aren't just named Battlefield


Anyway,Frostbite or not,now it seems EA has no games at all in production for the Wii U,it seems the early Wii U ports like Mass Effect 3,FIFA,Madden or NFS were just completing the contract EA and Nintendo had that started life for the Wii

The next Call of Duty is also not announced for Wii U (the last one did come out for it). With the Wii the trend seemed to be you bought a Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3 and coupled whichever one you chose with a Wii and you would be fine..although most here probably bought all three machines but the Gaming Trend Front Page story on the Wii still outselling the Wii U could mean EA aren't the only ones jumping..or perhaps not taking the leap in the first place

Perhaps the Wii U touchpad is its own downfall here,EA for one can't just port these games over(oh and yeah they say the Frostbite engine isn't too good on the Wii U as well),they have to come up for some selling point with that pad ..the ideas may be there,but to implement them may be a little too much

Or Perhaps we should look at the Playstation 3,that took some time to take off,and Playstation 2 sales were still very impressive for a long time after Playstation 3 found its feet....is the same thing happening here?

Naughty Dog has completed development of its next game, The Last of Us.

Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra posted an image on Instagram showing as much earlier today.
Sony has confirmed The Last of Us release date of June 14 worldwide.


A playable The Last of Us demo included with God of War: Ascension will go live on May 31, ahead of The Last of Us release date of June 14.

Naughty Dog's community strategist, Arne Meyer, has previously said the campaign component of The Last of Us is around 12-16 hours in length.

I imagine they'll find some new horrible way to make up for dropping the pass though.

Polyphony's Gran Turismo 6 is official, and is heading for Sony's PlayStation 3 later this year.

The announcement comes through the slightly bungled issuing of a press release ahead of a Silverstone event later this afternoon, where series creator Kazunori Yamauchi will officially unveil his latest game.

Silverstone itself is one of seven new tracks coming to the game, and while there's no official confirmation yet of what else will be joining the Northampton circuit there are already several pointers out in the wild. A video from the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year revealed a handful of old favourites will be returning, while Polyphony staff have been spotted scanning Australia's legendary Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst.

All of Gran Turismo 5's vehicles are returning, and the comprehensive garage is being bolstered by new additions that bring the car count up to 1200. There will be more customisation options available, a feature alluded to in the first leaked screenshot of the game, which showed a Mercedes SLS AMG with several aero updates.

There will also be a renewed focus on downloadable content, with Yamauchi saying the game will be supported long after its release. Will it find its way to the PlayStation 4 too? We're hoping to bring you more details from the event itself later today.

According to a leaked press release obtained by iAfrica, the game will be released this holiday season.

CVG understands the leaked press release is not fake, though it does not detail many of the game's features that will be revealed later today at a live event.

EA has announced the opening of a new DICE studio in Los Angeles, earmarked to be a “key cog” in the publisher’s plans for the Star Wars IP.

That’s according to the Wall Street Journal, which also reports that EA hopes to use the location of the studio to poach talent from rivals Activision Blizzard.

“There is an extreme talent pool over that we want a part of. It’s no secret that our main competitor is there,” said DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson.

Troedsson also told the WSJ that DICE LA hopes to amass 60 staff by the end of the year. Members of Medal of Honor studio Danger Close have already been snapped up, in addition to “outside talent.”

Although DICE L.A. will reportedly be a “key cog” in EA’s plans for the Star Wars license, it’s still being decided whether the new games will feature existing canon or new Star Wars stories.
