So my thoughts on this are pretty easy - if they are announcing this far in advance pre-order DLC, why not include it in the main product? I get incenting people to preorder, but an entire expansion pack?
Because $. they did the same thing with BF3 and that classic maps pack Back to Karkand. 4 'new' maps, new vehicles and weapons. Oh i remember that, yeah by the time that 'pre-order DLC' was released,i had already traded in the game a month or so before

I think when it says they want to make the next Halo i think they were created to create a series to rival Halo..that kind of 'next' Halo, not the next Halo in the series Microsoft's 55-person Vancouver studio has been renamed "Black Tusk," and will begin expanding right away to craft a new Microsoft IP that it hopes will be just as successful as the flagship Halo franchise. either way,a new IP is cool and can only entice me towards the Xbox One

I'll change that thread title when E3 happens E3 will feature historic IP from RARE"Fans of Rare and Rare IP I think will be pleased with what we're going to show at E3," he said. "We had a limited amount of time today and a lot of story to tell. But Rare remains an incredibly important part of our development capability.
"That historic IP that they've built I think can play a real important role on Xbox One." I personally hope its Conker at his very rudest!! but my guess would be Perfect Dark reboot or Banjo

360a.orgEA has confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be coming to Xbox 360 in November, with the China Rising expansion available with a pre-order of the game. It's also been revealed that Battlefield 4 will be heading to Xbox One, although a release date for Microsoft's next-gen platform has yet to be confirmed beyond the woolly 'holiday 2013' window.
Battlefield 4's China Rising expansion is apparently a 'sprawling" add-on in which you'll explore the "vast and majestic" Chinese mainland across four multiplayer maps. It bundles all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment into the bargain, and will be available with a pre-order at no additional cost.
Battlefield 4 is heading to Xbox 360 on November 1st, 2013. A date for the Xbox One version will be coming in due course. For now it's down for a holiday 2013 launch.

In some funny news of the day : "Xbox 360 Kinect owners had some trouble today watching Microsoft's Xbox One reveal due to device's response to "Xbox" commands spoken during the livestream." Yep, I read that and burst out laughing. Imagine on the Xbox One, since the Kinect is required to be connected at all times, if someone yells out over a mic while you are playing call of duty, "XBOX, SHUT DOWN". Oh the hilarity that will ensue over Xbox Live over this whole Kinect requirement thing.... nah,its programmed to your own voice pattern sorry

I'd bet that 95% of people who have an xbox or a ps4 has it connected online... The other 5%? Well, times are changing, time to adapt. I really don't see the issue. This type of thing happens all the time as technology/features change.
its not that my xbox or PS3 are always connected but there are times when my Internet goes down,so there would be no playing games while i wait for it to be fixed I changed my Internet Provider a few months back and it took them 5 business days to get the new one up,so there would be no playing games in that time My sister despises connecting the 360 to the internet,as she does not play online with games and the rest(which i agree with her)is BS that is on the dashboard, she doesn't care about the latest crap MS has to offer, nor does she care about her friends list and what they are playing some people just want to buy a game and put it into their system and play the game...i know, sounds crazy doesn't it(?)

LOL,this Eurogamer article has updated again with that Twitter Xbox Support info, the whole thing is depressingly hilarious now Update 3: Xbox Support's Twitter has announced that there won't be a fee to share games with friends.
When asked if one could lend a game to a mate without them paying for it, Xbox Support confirmed, "You will not have to pay a *fee*. I can confirm that those reports are wrong."
This suggests that the purported "fee" is really just a game sale that you could happen to attain through a friend's disc, but you could just as well borrow a game without purchasing indefinite access to it.

EG againOur man on the ground Tom Bramwell was able to speak to corporate vice president of Microsoft Phil Harrison about this hot-button issue and was able to confirm that a second user can install a game from a friend's disc for a fee, though it's unclear how much this will be. Harrison also confirmed that several users sharing a console can access the same game at no additional charge, and Microsoft has "a solution" for the resale market, though it's staying mum on those for now. well at least that part is cleared up There is an interview on the subject in that link with Phil Harrison

Hetz picking PS4 over XO? I would never have guessed Shocking, I know! Seriously though, even hardcore Xbox fans have got to be a little upset with the new console. It just seems like Microsoft wants to be all things to all people....but will end up doing nothing well. The whole three operating systems thing, sounds like a complete disaster waiting to happen as well....given their track record with operating systems. I am sure I will get one at some point....but I am just not psyched for it the way I was for the Xbox 360 or even the original Xbox. yeah i can not argue with you Hetz,I am massively displeased with today's presentation,i was expecting little info on games because of E3(and they said that would be the way),but apart from no disc tray there is very little i like about what we learned about the Xbox One 1000 friends?,pfft i only have 70-80 anyway,so i didn't even use up all the 100...1000 seems overkill for me I hope we don;t have to scroll through 1000 of these on the dash Infact not much was said about your avatar, and they didn't show it on the dash either

Okay i am confused as hell now
is this now set AFTER X-Men 3?
last i heard it was still a prequel and doing away with Origins
but if he is having nightmares about Jean Grey(and she looked Phoenix Jean Grey as well from X3),and there is high tech medical screens in nearly every shot, this makes me think its set after X3

the live media on the 360 is no use to me,they never have subtitles i would rather just switch HDMi ports and watch my SKY+ box and have my subtitles..I am guessing this is the same for Xbox One(<<do i have to keep calling it that?)
Looking at the back of the console, there is at least two HDMI ports. It may be that you can still use your sky box as a video feed into your console, and your TV never has to change inputs. so the exact same feed will be through the Xbox?,and be able to use the Sky Remote control to change channels/turn subs on then?..that makes me a little happier, but it all depends on the 'extras/pop up stats' otherwise i will probably just stick to changing Hdmi ports on my TV(its only two button presses) I've never wanted Kinect, and I still don't. Screw MS for trying to force it on me.
Agreed. I wonder if the Xbox One (what does that name even mean? It's not the first Xbox. I liked "Xbox Infinity") will even work without Kinect? nope. not sure if it was posted here or elsewhere, but I saw something saying it required the kinect. awww,what?..have you seen the size of it as well???

I was also really surprised they really glossed over the social features - they made a very quick mention regarding making gameplay highlights, but nothing approaching Sony's presentation on their share button or the ability to spectate other people's games, which I thought were very fun features.
Next Gen XBL detailsXbox One players will be able to install games in "segments", allowing them to start playing before the full game is downloaded. Automatic background downloads and updates will also feature, doing away with annoying update prompts when you start a game.
New matchmaking tech MS calls "Smart Match" will give you an estimated wait time on finding other players in a multiplayer game, and allow you to engage in other activities while you wait, such as watch TV or Skype.
The new system will also track your skill levels more accurately to find you equally-capable opponents. "On Xbox One, your Xbox Live reputation fundamentally matters and helps you find the best match based on skill, game style and language for a deeper online multiplayer gaming challenge," says the PR.
A 'Game DVR' feature will let you capture gameplay footage and post highlights to your Xbox Live profile - seemingly similarly to the PS4's 'Share' button functionality.
The firm also claims that games will use the cloud to "evolve and learn from actual players, letting you play against your friends' shadow" and that "dynamic, living worlds evolve and improve the more you play", although nothing of this was demonstrated at the reveal event.
Existing Xbox Live Gold memberships will "seamlessly carry over to Xbox One", says MS, and every gamer will have access to cloud storage space for profile and game data saving.
Gamerscores will also carry over from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, and a new Achievements system will feature new social elements that let you share your accomplishments with friends. "An expanded achievements system captures videos of gameplay and continues to grow achievements over time," explains the platform holder.

Alan Wake developers Remedy have Quantum Break happening for the Xbox One Remedy have confirmed that there will also be a TV Show connected to the game,as EG say.,....so,just like Defiance? trailer in the link EurogamerUPDATE 2: Quantum Break appears to blend a live action TV show with a video game, with actions in one affecting the other. Microsoft's Xbox One press release calls it "a revolutionary entertainment experience... that blurs the line between gaming and TV by integrating drama and gameplay into one seamless, uniquely immersive experience. How you play the game impacts the show, and the show informs how you play the game." Defiance, anyone? something for the Alan Wake fans: UPDATE: Remedy creative director Sam Lake has commented on the future of the Alan Wake series following the studio's announcement of new IP Quantum Break.
"Remedy's next big game won't be Alan Wake 2," Lake wrote on Twitter. "We'll return to Wake when the time is right. More on this tomorrow."
