The Stand now has a director

Stepping into the director's role now? It looks as if long-time Stephen King fan Josh Boone, director of The Fault On Our Stars, is set to take The Stand on. Furthermore, plans to split the story over several films appear to have been shelved, with the current idea to be a single movie, albeit one that will have an R rating if required.

I honestly think it being a single film will not help putting the mammoth book to the big screen, but i am glad that the project is moving ahead

And i'll stick this in here as well from a couple of weeks ago

Update on Stephen Kings IT

Chatting to Collider, producer Dan Lin revealed that "Cary Fukunaga is writing and directing Stephen King’s It for me, and I’m really excited for that. So I’m hoping that’ll be his next movie after the indie he’s shooting in Africa. I love what he did with True Detective. I think it’s a great sample for Stephen King’s It.  So I’m really excited about that".

The prologue chapter to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes will now retail for an RRP of £29.99 for both Xbox One and PS4, as well as Xbox 360 and PS3. The digital versions of the game for Xbox 360 and PS3 remain unchanged at £19.99.

PS4 is released in Japan! Spring forth the deluge! Any predictions on first week numbers? I'm guessing (totally uneducated) 400k in the first week. It's essentially a two (one?) console market in Japan now. The PS3 outsold the 360 by a 50:1 ratio last week. (10,240 to 194)

320k in first two days

Japanese PS4 sales hit 322,083 units in the system's first two days of availability, Famitsu reports.

By way of comparison, 88,443 PS3 units were sold in Sony's home nation during the console's launch weekend in November 2006, according to Famitsu data republished on Siliconera.

PS4's Japanese launch weekend sales were also higher than Wii U's (308,570), but lower than Wii's (371,936) and PS2's (630,552).

Heroes is returning in 2015 with 13 new episodes in a completely new story arc

NBC will air a 13-episode Heroes miniseries entitled Heroes Reborn in 2015...

If you wished for a Heroes revival when you blew out the candles on your last birthday cake, then well done you, it's happening. NBC has announced thirteen brand new episodes of the Tim Kring-created superpowered series are due to air as an 'event miniseries' in 2015.

Kring is back in the producer's seat for revived series, Heroes Reborn, which is being sold as a standalone story arc in the pattern of Fox's soon-to-air 24: Live Another Day resurrection. A digital series will launch prior to the Heroes Reborn premiere to introduce the new plotlines and characters, we're told.

NBC Entertainment President Jenny Salke's peppy official statement looks forward to "all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept" and "won't rule out the possibility of some of the show's original cast members popping back in." Er, hooray?

Big Boss is in a coma between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. However, Liquid Snake reveals in the first Metal Gear Solid that Big Boss was in a coma when the Les Enfants Terribles cloning program started, which was years earlier. How many times has Big Boss been in a coma?
There’s only once he’s in a coma, and to explain that you need to play towards the end of The Phantom Pain. There it will come together. You’ll be like “Oh, that’s what happened!”

That's cool.  Not everyone has the same tastes.

Just watched the trailer again and busted out laughing when Pratt's character is doing the old "mechanical middle finger" trick.  The sign below the blurred box on the monitor reads, alternately, "Obscene Gesture Imminent" and "Obscene Gesture Alert!".   icon_lol

Yeah even though its an old one,i laughed at that when he was saying that he had no idea 'that machine' was going to do that

Again like most of you guys,i have next to no knowledge about this comic(is that guy from the 80s then?,with the mechanical finger and the walkman...or did i miss it telling me in the trailer?) but loving that the makers have the balls to do stuff like this and not stick to the usual stuff (at least I grew up with),so i'm quite excited to see how this turns out

Free track 'Road America' today

Forza Motorsport 5 has had dozens, nay hundreds of cars as DLC over the past few months, with nary a track in sight. Until now. Today sees the release of the 'Road America' track for Forza 5, adding a new circuit to race in the game when you download it for free.

The free track is apparently to coincide with some impressive Forza Motorsport 5 stats, with the game becoming the best-selling by console attach rate in more than a decade, with over a third of Xbox One owners purchasing the game. That in turn has evented in 653 million road miles being recorded by the community, across over 94 million races, amd a combined 8 million hours of total gameplay.

Road America is one of North America's "oldest and most distinguished tracks", and will be integrated into the game's Career mode, bonus events, Rivals Mode, multiplayer and so on. It coincides with the release of the Road America Booster Pack, which includes five new cars, free for Car Pass owners.

The five Forza Motorsport 5 Road America Booster Pack cars are the 2006 #2 Audi Sport North America R8, 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, 1968 Ferrari 365 GTB/4, 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, and the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series. Both the Road America track and Booster Pack are out now. Check out screens and a trailer below.

Chatting to MTV News about the project, Keaton confirmed that "I’ve e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another".

He then added that "now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away, we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in"

I agree much more with the critics than the fans on almost all of those. Especially as time has gone by, Return of the Jedi was a solid 100 when I was 13, not so much now.

Only since Episode I was released have I noticed more backlash against ROTJ because of the Ewoks,I had never really noticed it before, probably because i was a kid and was wrapped up in it all anyway - the Droids and Ewoks cartoons were always on on my TV as a kid...but since Episode I was released,I have noticed people start to question the whole Ewoks Vs Stormtrooper thing in Jedi, rather than the love i thought it had when it was released

I loved Return of the Jedi to pieces and still do,and the film has the greatest opening half hour of any film i can think off...screw the haters Tongue (until George put an MTV music video slap bang in the middle of that half hour anyway disgust)

Really been enjoying this, and played for most of the night even though i was sick

The AI in the game makes me think of Star Wars Battlefront(although SWBF had lots more),maps are a decent size not mega massive but decently big and the graphics are quite nice

I also like the epilogue thing at the end of the match

with there not being a single player in the full game i do hope they give us a decent number of maps to make up for that

just an update on how this film is doing now that its pretty much starting to stop playing in a lot of countries

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:    $255,625,377      29.8%
+ Foreign:    $602,700,000      70.2%
= Worldwide:    $858,325,377

In Release:    63 days / 9 weeks

So not as great as the $1 billion Hobbit 1,but the film is set to release in China next week and Japan the week after,so i can certainly see it breaking $900 mill which is no bad tally

Kinda wish the July 2014 date was still up for Hobbit 3 instead of being moved back to December(where it was originally),because then we would have the Extended Edition of Hobbit 2 earlier
