Anyone read Bill Harris' take on it? Good stuff. Here it is if you're a lazy bastard. I love what he wrote about A-Rod: Here's the part I like the most. Rodriguez, instead of shrugging his shoulders and accepting that his slap-fight impersonation had been detected, acted like he had just been sentenced to Death Row for a crime he hadn't committed. I can't wait to see his next public service announcement: "Hello, I'm Alex Rodriguez, I make twenty million dollars a year playing baseball, and I act like a little bitch."

With Tabbrowser Extensions I'm so used to using the middle mouse button to close tabs now that I don't see the point of adding Tab X. Also the middle mouse button on an empty spot of the tab bar brings up the last tab closed (and so on up to three times). I'd imagine Tab X doesn't have a quick way to re-open recently closed tabs. Thanks for this! I didn't know MMB would close the tab. You r0x0rs, T$c0Tt!

Here's another question. I just installed the Tab Extensions and am trying to figure it out.
When I loaded tabs before, the tabs would load in the background. Now, each tab I load loads, but I'm bounced to the newly opened tab. For example, if I want to open 3 links on the CG forum index, it takes me directly to the new tab. Then I have to go back to open the other 2 links. Big pain.
Also, the Tab X extension appears to be disabled with the Tab Extensions extension. Too bad.
EDIT to add: nevermind, just figured out the first half. Now if someone can figure out the Tab X.

Adblock is one of my favorites. It allows me to specify some wildcard expressions that commonly identify imported advertisement elements in a page (e.g. */ads/* or *adserver*), and simply strip them all out of the page. It also allows you to view a list of the URLs of all blockable components of any given page, so that you can quickly block and unblock them, or more quickly identify the common URL substrings that you want to block.
Makes it sound like a lot of work, but with only a dozen or so such expressions I hardly see any ads at all on my web pages anymore. Dramatically speeds up the loading time of ad-heavy sites, and reduces the clutter of my browsing experience. Do you actually type *adserver* in the box and they're all gone? I have t manually block each ad. I did do just an "*" once and it took everything, including smileys, etc. How do I get the ads to go away?

Uhh. Don't take her to a Chinese restaurant.
If her English is limited, if and when you meet her parents, don't expect a lot of conversation.
Then again, I've never dated a Chinese woman. I'm giving it from my pov being a Chinese Man of Mystery.

Sneakerman = I read the "raise pigs" thing twice. Am I the only one that thinks that NOT thinking of raising pigs is not a crazy idea? Who the hell is gonna think, "Hmm. Perhaps we should raise some pigs on this beach to keep us alive"? I like this show, but there are so many moments of, "c'mon now", that it makes me wacky with anger. If I was stuck with my pre-teen son and had to go hunt boar, the last person I'd choose to watch him would be someone who I COULDN'T COMMUNICATE with. I wouldn't care if she gave me a free show or not. I'd grab Hurley or Dr. Charlie to watch him. You know what I mean??

Girls, in my experience, are less rowdy and more social than boys. But they also seem to become "independant" faster (as in "I want to play by myself, leave me alone daddy").
So, to sum up, congratulations. It's a scary step, having kids, but one that you will not regret. Yow. You need to come to my house. My daughter is insane. 2.5 years and a nut job already. of course. I call her Crazy Hazy. Congrats to malchi123493219 on the baby. When they whipped Haley out via c-section, I thought she was a boy (we didn't find out). Turns out her privates were not only purple, but quite swollen, giving the look of being hung. Some bonuses of having a girl (I have a boy now, too, and figure I can be an authority on the subject): 1. NO CIRCUMCISION DECISION. I thought I'd be cool, calm and collected when the time came to make the C.D. with Riley. With a girl, it's come as you are. 2. Diaper changes are easy. My friend who had a boy said boy's diapers were easier. I call bull. Wiping the remnants of breast milk poo poo away from a boy's sack is one of the most difficult things I've done in a long time. With a girl, you just need to clean out all the folds. Remember: front to back! 3. When the women tell you how cute your baby is, you feel special. After all, she is half yours, no matter how ugly you may be. 4. You get a Daddy's Girl. Selfish as it may sound, I LOVE it when Haley comes to me instead of Mommy. Mommy gets her all day; I get her 2 hours a night. That's my time. Some bad things about having a girl: 1. Boys. 2. Being surrounded by Dora the Explorer and Princess stuff all the time. 3. Wait til she turns 6-8 or so. I 've seen stores like Limited Too where they want your daughters to dress like hos. Freaks me out. 4. Not much else. Kids are cool. Congrats to you and keep us posted.

That was fun as always. Gwon, I'm done for the night but we talked about playing some more this weekend. You have to get yourself a headset! Do you guys use the MS headset? Or a 3rd party one? How does it work? Does the MS headset plug into the controller? Do you have a ton of cables running around? I wish I had one for last night. I could hear your voices, but just barely, through the tv. With a headset, it plays into your ear, right? I saw a headset from Logitech, but the price ($79.99!) means I gotta sell some stuff on ebay first.. Also, I'm on the 2 month trial for Live. With the new baby, I might have to wait a bit after the trial expires. No sense in starting a 12 month plan and not be able to use it that much.

CC, Simon, Driver, Jancelot: thanks for the games! Sorry for jumping in and out so much. I have a 7 week old and he thinks my gaming time is feeding/crying time . I need to practice some more, but that extreme race with Jancelot and Simon was fun, especially battling for second in the Ferrari (Jancelot) and GT40 (me). Simon: I'll look you up later. The boy will be asleep around 11:00 or so...

We went to Whorelando too. I loved it. Disneyworld. Downtown Disney. Universal Studios. Seaworld (white trash alert!) Paradise Cove (swim with dolphins) Universal Islands of Adventure (pass out on the Hulk coaster!) Good times and lots of sexy times.

I'm going to p/u PGR2 today at CC. What's it take to get my foot in the door for Wednesday nights? Hey Gwon, if you want to get some practice in tonight or tomorrow night let me know. What other Live games do you have? Yo Simon. Maybe later tonight; wife's watching Oprah on Tivo . I have PGR2, Burnout 3 and NFL 2k5. You'll be my first buddy!

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [xbox] Got KOTOR, now what??
|
on: October 12, 2004, 03:48:04 AM
|
|
I just got back from Circuit City and came home with two copies of PGR2 ($16.99!) and, not planning on it, KOTOR for $9.99(!!). I figured for $9.99, I couldn't go wrong, SW fan or not.
Trouble is, I'm not a SW fan at all. Nor am I an RPG fan. I've tried, but could never get into the RPG scene.
So, basically, I got it because it was a great deal. What now? Do I open it and find myself bored? Or do I return it? Or put it up for sale/trade?
Then again, under $50 for 2 awesome games (3, really. One's for my bro's new Xbox).
KOTOR people, help a newbie out.

So I'm watching the crazy ending to the Seahawk/Ram game. Wacky!
edit: Rams win in overtime on a long bomb, HAHAHA! My favorite game this year! MOTHERF*CKER! That's all I could say when I saw the end of that game. Man was I chapped. The color guy nailed it though. He said if the Seahawks want to be considered upper echelon, they need to do what the Eagles and Pats do when they're ahead: put teams away. The 'Hawks scored 3 points in the second half after putting up 24 in the first. :x
