Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / F/S: 3DO, NES systems and games
|
on: February 25, 2005, 02:54:33 AM

In cleaning out the parents' house last weekend, I came across our old 3DO and NES. Will anyone take these off my hands? The 3DO works (played The Need For Speed and John Madden Football, no issues) and has the following: 3DO system 2 controllers John Madden Football Road Rash The Need For Speed FIFA Soccer Shock Wave Crash 'n Burn Gex 3DO demo disc The NES gets power but the RCA jacks are faulty. The RF adapter I have works, though. It has the following: NES system (redundant!) 4 controllers 1 NES Advantage joystick 1 NES Zapper light gun 1 Nintendo AC adapter 1 RF switch and the following games (no boxes or manuals unless noted): Golf Mach Rider Karate Champ Kung Fu Wario's Woods (with box) Rambo (!) (with box) Dragon Warrior (with box) Ice Hockey Anticipation
Tecmo Super BowlMike Tyson's PUNCH-OUT!! The Adventure of LINK Casino Kid Faxanadu Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight Super Mario Bros. The Legend of ZELDA[/list] I have no idea what kind of prices I could command for these two systems, so make me an offer. Maybe I could interest U2K in the 3DO, seeing as how he's into developing for older systems...

In perusing http://www.joystiq.com, I came across a little shareware game called mono. Goodness. Take Asteroids, Smash TV, an acid trip of sorts, FPS controls, and dance/trance (?) music, put 'em in a box, throw the box down the stairs, and press play. This game is awesome. Getting a hold on the "flipped" FPS controls is tough. Have fun.

Yes. Not an Art Bell fan, but a Mel's Hole fan. I love stuff like this.
I remember a few Halloweens ago seeing a website about a hole/cave somewhere where a dude explored and took pictures. Really fascinating and creepy stuff, true or not.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I got Halo 2 for Christmas...

and I haven't even opened it yet. Have no desire to. But I don't want to miss out on anything it might have to offer. Instead, I've been playing GTAIII when I have the time. I also picked up NFSU2, which I'm thinking of ditching.
I played Halo a few times, never got very far. In fact, the farthest I got was when I found the captain of the Cortana and had to "protect" him. He kept getting waxed, which meant I would get waxed. I got tired of it and gave the game back to my buddy.
Do I need to play Halo 2? Or should I put it on the block... (looks longingly at Fatal Frame 2)

One other thing. I saw on Logitech's website that you get 2 months free of program listings on the remote. Don't tell me there's a monthly fee to use that feature. I'd hate to have another subscription to something...

What bugs me about the show is the rooms they design for the kids. God help me if my son likes astronauts and they make a room that looks like Space. What happens when he starts to like music? Then what?
And let's not forget about Ty. Talk about a doofus. I watched him on their big "behind the scenes" special, and when he's not donning his TV persona, he's not bad. But the TV persona is so FALSE and GRATING that it drives me KRAZZZZZY!

What's wrong with you guys? Don't freak me out. This CD was new... IN JUNE!!!Of course, w/o GG anymore, search wouldn't have done you any good. As good as the CD is, something about it just doesn't sit right with me. I think even though it's their own spin on the songs, it's still not enough Rush for me, you know? I've been having a good time listening to some "recordings" I have of OLD LIVE Rush, like from the Hemispheres era. Some of it is great. Awesome performances, nice and tight. Then others are HORRIBLE. When Rush is good live, they're great. But if they're off (and I've heard plenty of "off" live stuff), they're HORRENDOUS. But, I digress...

"big baller" and all the variants of ball or baller. hate it and hate anyone who uses it in a regular fashion. there's a dj on a local radio station who uses that word quite often and it makes him sound very stupid. of course, he also talks with a stoner voice which he thinks makes him sound cool and goes by the name of "the ricker"
biggest a-hole on the radio and the reason i don't listen to the station any more. that'sright my bre. Seattle, right? He bugged me at first, now he's kinda funny, though I hate the music they play on the station now.

Cowboy Up
Nothing is lamer to me than that phrase. I see it on stickers on the backs of trucks. The entire Red Sox team used it as their rallying cry 2 years ago. What the hell does it mean? Is it like when you're biking and someone says, "Car back"? Do I look up to see a Cowboy?
Holy Hell
I have a friend that uses that phrase all the time and it sounds so forced and premeditated when he says it I want to stuff a fist down his throat. Plus, I've seen it on two thread topics in the past few days. Make it stop!
Mad props
Not so prevalent with the people I know, but whenever I watch tv (maybe I shouldn't watch tv), that seems to pop up somewhere. STOP TRYING TO BE COOL!! Just say "congratulations" and leave it at that!
What bugs you?
What drives you nuts?

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [HL2] Stuck in "Follow Freeman". *SPOILERS*
|
on: December 04, 2004, 05:00:32 PM
|
|
Sorry about the new topic; I didn't want to wade through all the posts and see a spoiler in the official Level Help Thread.
*SPOILERS* . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I'm at a part where I need to blow up 3 generators with my grav gun. I've done two, but getting to the third is my problem.
There's a room that has a bunch of red laser sensors in it. You walk through one, guns descend from the ceiling and a big metal door locks behind you: instant red screen. After reloading, I took the grav gun, grabbed a painting off the wall and chucked it in from outside the room. What happens? Guns go off and the door closes, with me and my homeys outside. No big deal, right? Just wait for the door to open? Well, after cruising the building several times, the door WILL NOT OPEN. I just hear the "beep.... beep.... beep...." of the ceiling gun waiting for someone's ass to come in.
Is there a way to get that door open? There are no buttons anywhere. All the other doors are the "false" ones. Grav gun can't punch it open, and my homeys are just standing there saying, "Excuse me, Freeman."
Could it be? Did I break Half-Life 2?????? OMGZ!!11!!11!!!!!!11!!

A friend of mine, neophyte-ish, was too scared to buy a guitar he really wanted. He found it and had me bid. I ended up sniping it out from under another ebayer. Quite nerve-wracking. Also, I got an email saying how uncool I was for sniping it out from under him.
Boo hoo. That was fun!

At the risk of sounding repetitive, over at Gamespy there's a little tidbit about HL2 and the reviewer's 50" Samsung. My brother has a 50" Samsung. Scratches chin... I see a visit to his house in the near future... Now, what do I do with the wife and kids??
