I've been playing the 360 version of it and having a blast. Sure, I stink, but half the fun for me is seeing improvement. Keep in mind I am not a mp person at all, but I have been taken by the Titanfall bug.

I am terrible but I am getting better and having fun each time I play.

Your mom says hi.

I would have tried human urine first.  Much cheaper.

This is just asking for a out of context quote.

if you eat asparagus it'll stink worse; I'm sure that would either scare the squirrel off or possibly make it horny if it is a female squirrel.

I'm told it's not the pee that smells like asparagus, but rather the ability to smell the asparagus in said pee.

I can always smell it, no one else in my family smells it. Though they won't come smell my pee, no matter how much I plead.

I say it's like having a super-power. So, if Scampers is indeed super, then he can smell the asparagus. If not, well, it's just plain pee.

Either way, this is a wonderful thread. It's good to be back.

Edited to add:

$20 gc to Amazon
$15 gc to Best Buy
refurbished Toshiba BluRay player
Old Navy jeans
kid-painted coffee mug
big fleece blanket made by my son

Nothing terribly special, but a fun day with the family nonetheless.

There's a video game themed episode coming up today or tomorrow. Haven't seen it yet, but looking forward to it. In the meantime, here's a clip from a previous episode:

And here's an article Boing Boing about that episode:

And here's a picture of Mabel after eating way too much Fun Dip (banned in the US):

Did I mention there's a secret message in the intro? Seriously, check it out!
18  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [cartoon] You guys, Gravity Falls! on: September 04, 2012, 05:49:24 AM
Friday nights, Disney Channel. They pumped it this summer and it is delivering.

GF is the story of pre-teen twins, Mabel and Dipper Pines, who are sent to Gravity Falls, OR, to spend the summer with their Great Uncle Stan. Gruncle Stan, as he is known, owns the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap where he has weird odds n ends that, well, tourists like.

I've been telling people to watch, that it's like Scooby-Doo meets the X-Files. Dipper is Mulder, and Mabel is Scully, if Scully had braces, crushes on boys and wore light up sweaters with her name on them.

In other words, this show is fantastic. The artwork is hilarious, and I simply can't get enough of Mabel.

Also, there appears to be an overarching story arc, where, if you Bing Gravity Falls secrets, there are dozens of pages dedicated to deciphering things.

Do check it out.

Am I the only one bothered by a cool album cover that happens to have an hour hand that doesn't reflect the actual time?  That hour hand should not be pointed directly at the 9 spot, but should have already moved past according to the minute hand.  It's a small error, but one you can't ignore once you see it.

See rshetts2 post above.

What's that saying? I forget the wording. Just sometimes it's more about what you do when there isn't a spotlight around.

It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you?

I see what you did there.

New Rush this Tuesday! But, through the magic of the INTERNET, I have heard the entire album.

I'm pretty confident that in this fan's estimation, this is the finest record they've put out in a darn long time. The playing is top notch, the songs are impressively complex and attainable, and it just sounds GOOD.

The fact that it's a concept album just takes the cake. There's no real oddball songs here that stick out; instead, everything is quite cohesive without sounding similar.

Very pleased!

I read. I play bass in bands. I try to hang with the family as much as my retail schedule (and meager income) allows. I would like to do this:

Quote from: Ironrod on May 16, 2012, 07:46:10 PM

I taught myself to cook a few years ago and have gotten pretty good at it.

Talk to me.

If I was a bachelor, I could survive on cooking for myself. After all, my expectations are quite low. However, as I am a married man, my wife does 99.99999% of the cooking. She does it because she is good, and also because she has dietary restrictions (gluten free, no dairy, no red meats).

Due to a recent health diagnose for my wife (MS), she's been told she needs to lessen her stress to help the situation. As some of these stresses are unavoidable (work, kids, $$$), I've told her that I'd love to learn to cook to help her have less stress, but I don't know where to start.

Tips? Pointers? Maybe a dedicated thread???

Holy cow I am listening again and I am near tears. This is so great! When I last saw them on the first S&A tour, I got a bit misty eyed. These guys have been with me since the mid-80s and it's such a pleasure and joy to hear/see them. Listening to them regularly is one thing, but to be moved in person or with NEW FUCKING AWESOME MATERIAL gives such joy that I am having DUST IN MY EYES.

Never played any ME, but for $10 at the employee store for ME1, I'm thinking about it. But I'm afraid it'll go the way of Fallout 3: started with a bang, then fizzled out and never finished.
34  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: New Laptop: Apple or Windows on: February 15, 2012, 04:01:49 PM
Full disclosure:

I work for a place that sells PCs only.

I choose Windows. We service Macs all the time though; people come in wanting to BootCamp their Macs (dual boot iOS/Windows) and the Apple store won't help them as they don't support Windows. Even if you want your iPod/iPhone to sync with your PC? Sorry, out of luck. You want to use your 10 year old Hotmail account with your iPhone? No support at the Apple store.

Anyway, there are lots of sweet, sweet options (Samsung 9, Acer UX series, HP Folio 13, Toshiba Portege) that may not be AS slick as the MBP (which, admittedly is a gorgeous piece of hardware), but come close. Plus, they're waaaay less expensive.
