The horrible audio mixes in 5.1 and 7.1 from the demo persist on the retail release.  Lots of audio dropping out and out of sync also.  From a quick glance on the interwebs, there are quite a few people experiencing the same.  Really takes away from the experience.

Graphics are out of this world though.  Kratos has never looked so good.

Yea, I called that out in my demo.  This seems to be a common thing on the PS3.  I'm not sure if it's streaming from the BluRay or if it's issues with the hardware, or some blend of both, but it happens often enough to be fairly platform-specific.

I don't know about the audio dropping, but the mix is just plain bad.  God of War 3 didn't sound like this.

Funny, there's a menu option for "early access" to The Last of Us demo. I kinda figured early would mean like... now. However, it just brings up a countdown timer that tells me early access starts in 78 days.  D'oh!

I watched Life of Pi last night and while I didn't care much for the film, the special effects work on the Tiger is simply stunning.  It's ridiculous how well done Richard Parker is.

We have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side fridge and love it.  Tons of room and good lighting.  I would buy it again 10 x over.

You cannot complete the Mountain Village the first time you go through there.

And it turns out the same is true for Shipwreck Beach.

Oh I misunderstood, I thought you meant first play through as in beating the game, not first time you go to an area.

Just completed this. What an excellent game. Really liked it from beginning to end. The weapons and combat were satisfying, the traversal and exploration was exciting and the story was pretty good too. I also liked the auto-cover mechanic and inventory upgrade systems. Could have done without the QTEs, but they were infrequent enough not to be annoying. Just a great thrill ride from start to finish. Highly recommended.

+1 all the way.  One of my favorite games of all time.

Since we're getting into it, where's the best place to read about the WH40K lore?  I eat this stuff up, but playing the card game and minitures is not my thing.  I got into it with the PC RTS games and then the console games last year.  I always want to look something up and see what it's all about.

So, for people who are more knowledgeable about Space Hulk than I am, what edition of the game is this based on? Based on what I know, there's been three different editions. I believe I own the second one, where the only enemy is regular Genestealers. I have the impression that at least one of the other versions also features different breeds of Genestealers, such as the Magus. Am I correct? Which version(s) is that? Do we know if these things will be in this version?

I hope this does well so we can get some kind of sequel that has us fighting Chaos Space Marines too. Those were terrifying in the second Space Hulk computer game. I never could get through the first mission where you encounter them, as even one of them alone was enough to slaughter an entire team of Space Marines in Terminator armor.

I'm no expert, but from the RTS games I thought the Terminator armor dudes were the uber of the uber.  Wouldn't they mop up a Chaos marine?

The crappy ol' PS3 has moisture effects on the screen.  Looks great!

I feel like the QTE window for success is crazy small, at least on the PS3.  Even if you know it's coming I still die half the time.

They did say they want to release something in between.  Not sure what that something will be though.

I've beaten the game and my review will go live tomorrow.  You don't have to worry, there is plenty of meat on the bones with or without multiplayer.     (here's a hint....the game scored in the 90s)
