Yeah, they've been talking about this for a while now. We're going to see something from the game, though we don't know what. For all we know, there could be something playable, but I doubt it.

I'd be happy with one of their awesome trailers.  Gameplay would be icing on the cake!

Unfortunately the stuff that YK mentioned is still prevalent.  I believe it's an unfortunate byproduct of the way the entire system works.  Programmer costs are constantly rising every year, and they continue to try to gouge more at every opportunity, so as providers, the economic model inherently is built to have costs increase over time.  It's not really that you are paying "more for the same content" over time ...

You can say "that's just how this system works", but to me, the first company that flips this model on it's head is going to be rewarded for it.  If you want to pull out of a steep decline, don't keep doing the same thing.

They can't because all the power is with the comcasts and time warners and they don't want to split up these massive subscription packages.

Monthly cost is the big one.  Quality of service is definitely there too.  I've been an ATT Uverse subscriber for about 7 years or so now.  I feel like there are so many channels I don't even look at.  I watch sports first and foremost and then some shows.  My wife watches more shows.  We have a couple movie channels, but only because I had recently called in and said I would cancel if I couldn't get a new sub deal so that I could get new sub prices.  They gave me $60 off my bill if I signed up for a 1 year deal, which I would have had the service anyway for that time.  I get HBO during programs I want to watch.  Most of the time you can just get it for free anyway.

I haven't really seen the preview at each commercial thing on American TV so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

It's the kind of thing where they'll say "coming up next" or similar phrases, then show a couple of things to try to hook you into watching until the next commercial. My impression is that it's very common. GameTrailers used to do this kind of thing too with their Bonus Round videos, but they must have gotten complaints, because they've stopped.

I've never heard of a preview at any point except at the end to tease what's coming next week.

Oh, one additional thing. IMHO between this and Evil Within I have found Evil Within to be much scarier. Alien is tense, but Evil Within is filled with creepy monsters and blood and all sorts of insanity, and that gets to me wound up a lot more than just fear of the unknown.

You crazy

Early game spoilers:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Well, I just finished the chapter where you have to get up the elevator after evading the looters. I think I had to start over a good 10 times just getting out of the main area. Enemies that can see you across the room in the dark and have pinpoint aim? No indication at all of where you're supposed to go? I don't mind limited hand holding, but that was kind of severe for what is really the first encounter in the game. I just picked up the motion tracker, so hopefully it will get a little easier.

Agree, this part was silly.

@MaioccoCSN: Jim Harbaugh said he has unwavering support for Greg Roman, and ownership/management has not asked him to make a change.

what do you think he's going to say.  My offensive coordinator sucks?

While that may be true, that's not going to be told in public.

You have to take what the media says with a grain of salt.  Their sole interest isn't the state of the team, they want to get a reaction out of Harbaugh.  It's sad.

I think Roman is still the OC and we're going nowhere this season.  I also think that his brother fired his OC midway through the season a few years ago, hired a new one and won the Super Bowl.

Actually, I was FAR more excited about the Phantom Menace trailer than I am with this piece of crap. You don't 'tease' anything by showing absolutely nothing whatsoever.

Wow, I have seen some skeptical reactions, but nothing that cynical. Sure they didn't show anything about the story, don't care, thought it looked cool anyway. (I haven't read any spoilers, I know nothing about the movie.)

Seriously this is the definition of an excellent teaser.

Think of swordfighting. Okay, so the two of you clash up with your blades. All one person needs to do is shift their force downward and suddenly their blade is chopping off fingers if there's no crossguard to get into the way.

While there's some merit to what you're describing regardless of situation, lightsabers clashing against each other tend to get stuck, so there's no way they would slide along each other. Look at the original trilogy to see the best examples of what I'm talking about. Sometimes the fighters clearly struggle to separate their lightsabers after a successful parry.

The handle is a T any way, so even if the blade did slide down, it would just cut off the handle and the blade would do nothing.

But the blade doesn't go all the way to the handle. If they could bring their sword down on this it would cut the extenders of the hilt.

The lightsaber is very strange in several ways. Look at the "blade" itself. It's very aggressive and long, much longer than any other lightsaber we've seen. The light almost looks like flames. I'm wondering if maybe this specific lightsaber is ancient technology, from back during the Sith's glory days or something. There's much going on here that we don't fully understand yet, and drawing too many conclusions about the lightsaber might not be wise yet

Maybe with no one to teach him how to make one, that crackling blade was the best he could do
