By the way, for those complaining about not being able to play the coop only songs, you can use a code to unlock them in Quick Play mode.  Doesn't affect your career or anything, so I don't really consider it cheating.  The cheat is:

(YO)(RB)(RO)(GB)(RY)(YO)(RY)(RB)(GY)(GY)(YB)(YB)(YO)(YO)(YB)YR(RY)RYO

The colors in parentheses need to be played at the same time.

Thank you!  I was upset about not being able to play these songs either as I'll never co-op.

Well by some random chance, I got the overkill achievement in a game of oddball and steppin razor in a game of crazy king.  Two games back to back after 175-some-odd games.

I think it was KD or th'F that was saying the demo was the worst possible snip they could have released.

I am also a huge Simpsons fan, but $60 is too much for this during this holiday season.  I'll be renting it for sure though.

Sucks for the guy who's selling his early release copy on eBay.  Hopefully the folks who are going to bid will read about that first.

That's good to know about GH2 and the controller. Shame it's still $50 though otherwise I'd grab it.

Yeah it was too expensive new for me, so I just ordered it on Amazon marketplace for $27 shipped!

Hey guys I have a Q about MP.  Do I get to select the difficulty level to play at?  I suppose there's no way for some expert to login and smoke you, but at least I would be able to participate at a difficulty level I feel comfortable with.

I think Battle Mode and Faceoff allow each player to pick their own level when you play.  Pro Faceoff's level is determined by whoever created the game, I believe.

Thank you!

Hey guys, does anyone have any insider dirt on a game-only version of GH2 for the xbox coming out?  I'd like to eventually get that to play those songs, too!

Well at one point it looked like I might get the stepping razor achievement, but alas, I did not.  I got a couple new MP medals.  I think it was a neat idea.  Hopefully they'll do more stacked games like this for future events.
11618  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GHIII impressions thread on: November 01, 2007, 02:27:19 PM
I have moved on to Medium now and it's not as bad as I first thought!  Some of the songs actually seem easier to me since the notes hit more realistically.  I'm really enjoying playing through the songs.  I tried a song on hard last night and I got through 4% before I failed.  I don't know if I'll even be able to play at that level.  It's the first time I failed any song at all.

I have a question for the people who don't like this game.  What is so much better about GH2 that you all dislike GH3 so much?  This is my first GH game and I find it to be super fun.  I see a lot of negative comments here about how bad GH3 is and how Rock Band is teh win.  I'm curious why that is.

I decided to finally get this game today.  I haven't ever played GH before.  It IS fun - but oh so frustrating!  This thing has a steep learning curve for me.  I can get through some of the easy songs ok, but when a chord comes up with notes that aren't next to each other I'm toast!

I'm new to the game also and was a bit worried about even being able to handle it on easy. Fortunately I've been able to 5 Star most songs on easy and started practicing last night with Medium songs, which is a little tougher but I think I'll be able to get the hang of it. I honestly couldn't imagine ever playing this game on Hard or Hardest. It is a very fun game though, and I'm definitely looking forward to them adding new content and grabbing that Union Jack faceplate when it comes out. smile

+1 my thoughts exactly.  Except for the faceplate thing slywink

the game only gets better as you develop your skills...feels more and more like you're really playing the songs as you work your way up the difficulty levels.  it's pretty amazing how the motions that feel so awkward and impossible at first become second nature with a little practice.  as for the hand cramps, i actually felt like those go away after you get  yourself conditioned a little.  just try to relax your grip on the controller and take breaks if you get really sore.  you'll be able to play multi-hour marathons in no time

I just started in earnest in Medium tonight and while very tough, the songs are very enjoyable and the notes seem to his more realistically with the song.  This game is so much fun!

Come on Giants.  You know what you need to do.

gellar
You cannot afford him. Even in your dreams.

They paid Barry $15+ mil last year.  They have over 25,000 season ticket holders.  There is no more Barry (Bonds).  They have almost as much operating income (in 06) than the Cubs.  They have the 7th largest revenue in MLB.  Despite everyone (including the Giants themselves) wanting to paint the picture of them being a small market club... they are in fact making mad cash.  That ballpark helps immensely, since Bay Area fans want to go there even if the team sucks.  A-Rod would bring in more money than he cost.

The Giants can easily afford to pay him what he wants.  It's just a matter of whether they want to.

gellar

The Giants stadium is fun to go to and I don't even like baseball.
