Hey guys, does anyone have any insider dirt on a game-only version of GH2 for the xbox coming out?  I'd like to eventually get that to play those songs, too!

I wonder why the xbox hasn't received a demo yet.

Well at one point it looked like I might get the stepping razor achievement, but alas, I did not.  I got a couple new MP medals.  I think it was a neat idea.  Hopefully they'll do more stacked games like this for future events.
11565  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GHIII impressions thread on: November 01, 2007, 02:27:19 PM
I have moved on to Medium now and it's not as bad as I first thought!  Some of the songs actually seem easier to me since the notes hit more realistically.  I'm really enjoying playing through the songs.  I tried a song on hard last night and I got through 4% before I failed.  I don't know if I'll even be able to play at that level.  It's the first time I failed any song at all.

I have a question for the people who don't like this game.  What is so much better about GH2 that you all dislike GH3 so much?  This is my first GH game and I find it to be super fun.  I see a lot of negative comments here about how bad GH3 is and how Rock Band is teh win.  I'm curious why that is.

Is anyone even planning on buying this game?

I wonder if we'll see any advancements like these become wide spread in my lifetime.

I was able to get the 2 for 1 achievement thanks to this game type.  They really are geared towards getting those really hard ones.

I decided to finally get this game today.  I haven't ever played GH before.  It IS fun - but oh so frustrating!  This thing has a steep learning curve for me.  I can get through some of the easy songs ok, but when a chord comes up with notes that aren't next to each other I'm toast!

I'm new to the game also and was a bit worried about even being able to handle it on easy. Fortunately I've been able to 5 Star most songs on easy and started practicing last night with Medium songs, which is a little tougher but I think I'll be able to get the hang of it. I honestly couldn't imagine ever playing this game on Hard or Hardest. It is a very fun game though, and I'm definitely looking forward to them adding new content and grabbing that Union Jack faceplate when it comes out. smile

+1 my thoughts exactly.  Except for the faceplate thing slywink

I tried to use my code just now and got this message:

Guitar Hero III is a massively popular game and there are a ton of people online. So many people have been rocking out that the account linking process is experiencing some delays. We are aware of this issue and are working as fast as we can to resolve it. We appreciate your patience and check back for more updates soon!

the game only gets better as you develop your skills...feels more and more like you're really playing the songs as you work your way up the difficulty levels.  it's pretty amazing how the motions that feel so awkward and impossible at first become second nature with a little practice.  as for the hand cramps, i actually felt like those go away after you get  yourself conditioned a little.  just try to relax your grip on the controller and take breaks if you get really sore.  you'll be able to play multi-hour marathons in no time

I just started in earnest in Medium tonight and while very tough, the songs are very enjoyable and the notes seem to his more realistically with the song.  This game is so much fun!

Come on Giants.  You know what you need to do.

gellar
You cannot afford him. Even in your dreams.

They paid Barry $15+ mil last year.  They have over 25,000 season ticket holders.  There is no more Barry (Bonds).  They have almost as much operating income (in 06) than the Cubs.  They have the 7th largest revenue in MLB.  Despite everyone (including the Giants themselves) wanting to paint the picture of them being a small market club... they are in fact making mad cash.  That ballpark helps immensely, since Bay Area fans want to go there even if the team sucks.  A-Rod would bring in more money than he cost.

The Giants can easily afford to pay him what he wants.  It's just a matter of whether they want to.

gellar

The Giants stadium is fun to go to and I don't even like baseball.

Filters should be easily fixable in a patch, amirite?

Also, when you guys play MP, do you have to play the same difficulty?  Is there a way to only play people at the same difficulty you are?

I'm running the demo at 1280x1024 with everything on High and no AA or AF and it's smooth as butter.

Wow looks awesome and the vibe is killer!

Just finished playing a best of three pro face-off against some dude.  After whooping him on the first song, he proceeded to tell me how it was on for song #2 and that I didn't stand a chance against him.  No one had ever beaten him on Cult of Personality yet.  After I stomped him by nearly 100k, I found out that I was apparently a cheating faggot, my wife was a dirty whore, I was a fucking douchebag, and I had no business bringing my sorry cheating ass on XBL.   I'm still not quite sure how one "cheats" at GHIII, but that's apparently irrelevant.  I'm suddenly remembering why I've steered clear of multiplayer...

However, me and The Grue tore up a couple Expert co-op songs, including one 5-star.  Now that was fun.  smile

The best thing you can do on XBL is mute all voice coms.

Dead rising is simply awesome, I really like that game.  It's a platinum game now, too.  So you should be able to get it for cheap.

I didn't like either of the Kameo demos.

I liked the Rainbow Six: Vegas demo a lot.

From a long term PC gamer, I just liked downloading any demos for a console.  I pretty much download it all and delete as needed!!

This question has probably come up before. I play standing up, and after playing for about 5 hours today my legs are sore. I tried playing while sitting down but found I did not do as well.

I've been playing standing up in rocker pose!!! headbang

not sure if this has been answered..but will there be a GH3 game on its own, without the new guitar and you can play with the old guitar?...just that if i did get it,i wouldnt want all these guitars everywhere in my room
(been playing GH2 today...im still shit at it)

the game by itself is available at any store that's selling the bundle.  i picked up the stand-alone 360 version and have been playing with my GH2 Xplorer all afternoon...works great

now i'm curious to see if they go back and release GH2 for the 360 on its own so people who have the GH3 Les Paul can go back and play it if they haven't already.  as of now, you can only buy GH2 360 with the guitar.

I hope they do!  I'm having such a blast playing this I'm going to want 2 also!
