This worked for me too.

But vegas 1 didn't really have any good unlocks at higher ranks unless you think pink armor is a great reward.

I hear Hark loves the pink armor.

That's the only reason he was good at the game, he got cheap kills while we laughed at how stupid he looked.  I hope they nerf pink armor.  Nerf melons too while they are at it.

I never used the pink armor, I used the "cotton-candy clouds" camo and blended right in with the decor of your rooms you pussies.

lol!

Hey, I like Denon too, but to get HDMI 1.3a inputs, I'd have to go up to the AVR-5803CI.  That's very cool, but has a MSRP of $5200.  That's well out of my range.

Actually...

Tongue

That said I still think if I was going to get one now it would be one of the newer Onkyo series. They're the only affordable receivers that support all the new audio formats on Blu-Ray like DTS-HD and it's Dolby competitor.
Unless I'm reading that wrong, you can't output a non HDMI source through the HDMI connection and you can't use HDMI as the sound cable.  Perhaps I should have said "HDMI 1.3 a inputs with audio and video processing" instead. slywink

Ok my Onkyo 605 can output any video input to the receiver, out to the monitor via HDMI.  For example my cable box goes into my receiver with Component cables, but there's just a single HDMI cable feeding my tv.  I can also use my HDMI cable to pass audio through to the monitor if I don't want to output it to the external speakers.  If that's what you're looking for, then it's available starting at $400.

Ok Chaz, I know you've got all that confidentiality stuff to deal with...but please blink once if you think "Still Alive" is coming soon, twice if it's at least hitting us in April, and thrice if even April is too optimistic.

I cannot answer your question, even in blinks.  For this I am sorry.

The thrash pack is indeed for those looking for a challenge.  These songs, particularly Thrasher, are the most ungodly song in the game, and that includes the Metallica DLC.  They are definitely not for the faint of heart.  Even bass is hard, and the drums are serious too.

EDIT: Something I've always loved about the Harmonix games is including songs I haven't heard of, but that I wind up loving by the time I've played them a few times.  What GH3 taught me is that just because I love a song, doesn't mean it'll be fun to play in the game (Slow Ride).  I will admit that the flaw in that plan is that in a party setting, most people only want to play songs they know, which is unfortunate.  I was at one party where I put on a song I love, but isn't known at all, and one guy failed out within 30 seconds, declared that the song sucked hard, and refused to play it again, then made fun of me for liking it.  A party's a tough crowd.

THANK. GOD.

Also, how have you guys never heard of Paramore or Serj Tankanian(or whatever the spelling is)? I don't dig Serj, in fact I can't stand a lot of SoaD songs. Paramore gets played quite frequently here. Though a local radio station is independantly own and ran by some ex green bayer. So I don't have to deal with shitty play lists. If you even liked CCC a little you should really check out the rest of the album. It's pretty damn good. CCC wouldn't have been my first choice of song from the CD, but whatever.

Yeah they wouldn't know if they didn't listen to the radio.

it'd be nice if they added in the capability for the blu ray drive to remember where you are on a DVD/BD if you stop the movie and turn off the system so you don't have to skip/fast forward through a disc to find your spot again.  c'mon Sony, even my DVD player from 2000 had the ability to do that  icon_frown

leaving the system on doesn't seem to help either, as I tried it and when I went back a few hours later it started the disc at the beginning.

i have seen this in work just recently while watching farscape.  hit O to back out of playback, then restart fah.  next day, exit fah, select dvd video, and bam! episode starts back up where i left it.  you doing something different like hitting the off switch on the back or something?

TV was 1400 when I got it August of last year.

The Onkyo 605 was on sale at Circuit City when I bought it...it cost me 399.99 + tax

The speakers and sub with associated cabling were $516 total

so minus the TV it was about $1k for the audio.  Again it was only 2 fronts and a sub (and receiver).  For my small room it fits perfect.  I think anything more would have been overkill.  One day when I have a bigger living room area, I hope to just add a center and two surrounds, but keep using the rest of my stuff.

I wanted to update with my purchases....I went with the Onkyo 605 and I got a pair of Level Two Fronts and a Level Two Sub from www.htd.com.  These were added to my 42" Phillips 1080p from Costco.  I'm in nerd heaven these days.

I've had my eye on their site for quite some time and I am not disappointed in the sound.  My living room area is not that big so I decided to just get a pair of speakers instead of trying to get surround sound.

I've gone back and played some games that I had gone through without a good sound system and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.

The 360 and PS3 (DVD) are running through the system and everything sounds so awesome.  It's great having bass to your gun fights now!!

Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition is in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft as well as a version for Windows-based PCs that will support Games for Windows – LIVE. Scheduled for Platinum Hits release this June in North America, Lost Planet Colonies Edition extends the acclaimed Lost Planet experience by delivering fresh new content and gameplay options, as well as online cross-platform play between both the Xbox 360 and Windows-based PCs using Xbox LIVE and Games for Windows - LIVE. Both SKUs of the game will offer excellent value, with the Xbox 360 version achieving Platinum Hits status. Lost Planet Colonies Edition is rated T for Teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and will be released on both Windows PCs and Xbox 360 on May 27 for the Platinum Hits value price of $29.99.

Lost Planet Colonies Edition provides the same compelling single player experience found in the original Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, with the addition of three new modes. In Score Attack, all enemies have points assigned to them and the score awarded will change depending on how they are defeated, with skilled marksmen being rewarded. For those who thrive on a challenge, Trial Battle Mode delivers, pitting players against all of the game’s bosses, one after another. Players of both Score Attack and Trial Battle modes will be able to compare their skills and compete for bragging rights via the online ranking system. Finally things get a little crazy with Off Limit Mode which lets players take on Lost Planet’s harsh environments and enemies with over-the-top, super-charged weapons and a powered-up grappling hook.

Fans of multiplayer action will not be disappointed as Lost Planet Colonies Edition allows them to enjoy a host of new maps, characters, weapons and gameplay modes. Players turn poacher as they attempt to steal opponents’ alien Akrid eggs in a number of individual and team play modes, while the addition of VS Annihilator Mode assigns one robotic Vital Suit to each team, which must be defended at all cost. Lost Planet Colonies Edition also includes the feature that Lost Planet fans across the globe have been clamoring for – the ability to play as a gigantic marauding Akrid. Revel in the chance to turn the tables on the Snow Pirates as you assume the role of one of E.D.E.N. III’s indigenous creatures in Akrid Hunting mode.

All of these modes can be played across a total of 20 diverse maps, including a number of brand-new multiplayer arenas set in areas such as the confines of an ancient coliseum or the zero gravity of space. For the first time, Xbox 360 owners will be able to join up with or play against Windows-based PC gamers, thanks to Lost Planet Colonies Edition’s cross-platform compatibility.

Secondly, about the M-16; I personally think it is one of the more difficult weapons to use, because if you don't aim just right your burst hits them in a non-lethal spot and they just turn and kill you.  I used the M-16 exclusively until I got the G63C (may have mixed the name there) and I like having the auto matic more for my spray and pray sessions.

Regardless of where the ideas were stolen from, I watched the movie and thought it was great.  Love some of the zerg units and the animations look great.  Big battles are a total mess, but maybe it's supposed to be that way.

I am curious how far Blizzard will take the A.I. as far as smart auto-targetting goes.  Will a player be able to drag select 50 different units and hit 'A', click on an area where the bad guys are, and have each unit type smart-target their best rock-paper-scissor opponent, or will they intentionally leave it to the micro-manager to handle all those duties?

Do we know yet if special powers will all be auto-castable with some semblance of intelligence, or will they intentially leave that stuff out so the micro-manager can flex his e-peen cause of his mad micro-skillz?

I was always under the impression that Starcraft was more for the e-peen flexers with regards to micro management.
